He became extremely uncomfortable and began to tremble. Then the Lord of the Gods, Indra, knowing his thoughts, said: Like a weak patient, why does the king tremble? Even if I were to cut my body in half, see that my mind does not tremble. You are known as the giver of all, proclaimed everywhere on earth, it is not fitting to regret, lest your words become false? Then the Bodhisattva said: Brahmin, my body trembles not for that reason, nor is there any regret. However, this saw has deeply cut into the lower half of my body, yet it has not severed it. I think to myself: My giving will not be complete, and the hopes of those who beg from me will not be fully satisfied. Thinking of this reason, my body trembles, not because I am unwilling to be cut violently by the saw. When he said these words, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, was greatly astonished and remained speechless. In the meantime, the two men, completely bewildered by Indra, used the sharp saw to cut off the Bodhisattva's lower half, and as soon as it was placed on the ground, it began to move. Then the Bodhisattva, disregarding the pain of his body being cut, hastily said to the two men: Good people, quickly join my body to the Brahmin's body as quickly as possible. The two of them did as he said. As soon as they were joined, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, blessed them so that the wounds were immediately and completely healed, restored to their original state, and appeared to be the same color. To make the Bodhisattva happy, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, rose from his throne, walked, stood, and sat down. Then the Bodhisattva, seeing that the beggar's body was completely restored and his wishes were completely fulfilled, his heart filled with great joy, thought: My labor has finally borne fruit, and my wishes are completely fulfilled. With a heart full of joy, he thought: How should I treat this Brahmin, using my own body?

Thus, with this root of virtue that protects from the suffering life and completely protects from the fear of death, may I thus attain the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, and after becoming a Buddha, liberate this Brahmin from the suffering of samsara, and place him in the ultimate bliss of Nirvana. Having said this, the Bodhisattva, tormented by intense feelings, made aspirations for Bodhi in his mind, closed his eyes, and remained in a swoon. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, immediately and swiftly restored strength to the Bodhisattva's body with the medicine of life. Monks, after the king Splendor of Virtue's body was cut in half, at that very moment, this three-thousand great thousand world realm shook in three ways: it shook, shook violently, shook completely violently, moved, moved violently, moved completely violently. The great earth could not bear the Bodhisattva's extreme giving and wonderful giving, and it resounded greatly. Just as a large copper vessel is struck all around and emits a sound, so at that time, at that moment, this great earth itself resounded greatly. From the mountains, valleys, rivers, and collections of oceans, a great terrifying sound arose. From the four directions, great clouds of terrifying smoke also arose. Meteors fell everywhere, the directions burned, and in the sky, the sons of the gods also beat drums, and this entire three-thousand great thousand world realm became completely dark. In the center of the sky, the gods who travel also uttered noisy sounds, tormented by the Bodhisattva's sorrow. From the sky, the gods also scattered divine utpala flowers, lotuses, pundarika flowers, akaru powder, tagaru powder, tamala leaf powder, sandalwood powder, and the gods' mandara flowers from above the Bodhisattva. They also scattered garments. The music of the gods was also played intensely. Jambudvipa
