Because they made aspirations there, they have now realized the state of Arhat. Monks, therefore, those actions that are definitely black, their ripening will also definitely be black. Those actions that are definitely white, their ripening will also definitely be white. Those actions that are mixed, their ripening will also be mixed. Monks, therefore, having abandoned those actions that are definitely black and those that are mixed, one should focus only on those actions that are definitely white. Monks, you should train yourselves in this way. After the Blessed One spoke thus, those monks rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said. The story called "Beautiful One": The Buddha, the Blessed One, was respected, revered, emulated, and offered to by kings, great ministers, wealthy people, palace attendants, merchants, captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas. The Buddha, the Blessed One, who was offered to and known by gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, possessed great merit and obtained robes, food, bedding, seats, medicine, and medical supplies. I am not seeking your appearance, youth, lineage, wealth, and power, I am not here to pursue desires. I am a disciple of the one whose image of Shakyamuni Buddha is painted on this cloth, and I will take refuge in his teachings.' Having said this, she went to the ascetic, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: 'Venerable One, if I can be ordained in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, receive full ordination, and obtain the status of a Bhikshuni, then I also wish to practice Brahmacharya in the presence of the Blessed One.' Then, the Blessed One entrusted her to Mahā-Prajāpatī. Then, she also ordained her and gave her full ordination. Then, through diligence, practice, and effort, she realized that this wheel of the five aggregates of samsara is shaking and unstable, and she thoroughly understood that the nature of all conditioned phenomena is destruction, decay, dissipation, and disintegration. She abandoned all defilements and realized the state of Arhat. The Arhat, having become free from the desire of the three realms, became equal to gold and dung, possessed a mind like the sky and the palm of the hand, and became as cool as if smeared with sandalwood. She destroyed the shell of the egg with wisdom, obtained wisdom, supernormal powers, and discriminating awareness, and did not covet worldly gains, attachments, and reverence. She became an object of offering, remembrance, and respect by the gods, including the lords of power and their attendants.

Then, the maiden Kāśī Beautiful One descended from the sky and, sitting in the midst of many people, taught such a Dharma. Having heard it, hundreds of thousands of beings attained great distinction. Then, the monks became doubtful and, in order to dispel all doubts, asked the Buddha, the Bhagavan, who dispels all doubts: 'Venerable one, what deeds did Kāśī Beautiful One perform that she has a beautiful form, is pleasing to behold, is beautiful, and, having gone forth, directly realized Arhatship?' The Bhagavan replied: 'Monks, Kāśī Beautiful One herself, in other past lives, had accumulated merit and possessed complete conditions. Like a rushing flood, she appeared and those deeds will not come to naught. Who else would experience the deeds that Kāśī Beautiful One herself did and accumulated? Monks, the deeds that have been done and accumulated will not ripen in the external element of earth, nor will they ripen in the element of water, fire, or wind. The virtuous and non-virtuous deeds that have been done and accumulated will ripen only in the aggregates, elements, and sources that are grasped. The deeds of sentient beings will not be wasted even for a hundred eons. When the collection is complete and the time has come, they will ripen into their own fruit. Monks, in the past, in a bygone era, in this very Fortunate Aeon, when the lifespan of beings was thirty thousand years, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, Guide of Beings to be Tamed, unsurpassed, Teacher of gods and humans, Buddha, Bhagavan, called Golden Banner, appeared in the world.
