I. (The hells are named) Extremely Hot, Uninterrupted, Blistering, Blister Bursting, Sothamsothams, Khyahud Zer (transliteration, meaning unknown), Achu Zer (transliteration, meaning unknown), Split like an উৎপལ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, utpala, blue lotus), Split like a lotus, Split greatly like a lotus. In all those hot hells of sentient beings, it becomes cool and descends. In all those cold hells of sentient beings, it becomes warm and descends. Therefore, the differences in suffering of those sentient beings are all pacified. Then, they think, 'Alas! Have we died and transmigrated from here? Or have we been reborn elsewhere?'. Then, in order to generate faith in them, the Bhagavan manifests emanations, and seeing the emanations, they think, 'Alas! We have neither died and transmigrated from here, nor have we been reborn elsewhere, yet, by the power of this unprecedented sentient being's appearance, the differences in our suffering have been pacified.'. Then, they develop great joy in the emanations, thereby exhausting the karma that would cause them to experience the suffering of hell, and among gods and humans, they will take rebirth in any place that is fit to be a vessel of truth. Those who go upwards are the retinues of the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three, the Free from Strife, the Joyful, the Delighting in Emanation, the Controlling Others' Emanations, the Brahma Retinue, the Brahma Attendants, the Great Brahma, the Minor Light, the Immeasurable Light, the Clear Light, the Minor Virtue, the Immeasurable Virtue, the Universal Virtue, the Cloudless, the Born of Merit, the Great Fruit, the Non-Great, the Non-Afflicted, the Abundant Appearance, the Extremely Visible, and reaching up to the gods of Akanishta, they proclaim the sound of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. Two verses are also spoken: Strive for definite emergence, Engage in the Buddha's teachings. Like an elephant destroying a reed hut, Destroy the army of the Lord of Death. Whoever in this Dharma and Discipline, Conducts themselves with mindfulness

Having completely abandoned the cycle of birth, one will be able to end suffering. Thus it is said. Then, those rays of light circled the three-thousand great thousand world realm, following the Blessed One. If the Blessed One wished to prophesy past actions, they would not appear on the side of the Blessed One's robe. If he wished to prophesy future actions, they would not appear in front. If he wished to prophesy that beings would be born in hell, they would not appear on the soles of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as animals, they would not appear on the heels of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as pretas, they would not appear on his toes. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as humans, they would not appear on his two knees. If he wished to prophesy that they would become powerful wheel-turning kings, they would not appear on the palm of his left hand. If he wished to prophesy that they would become wheel-turning kings, they would not appear on the palm of his right hand. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born in the heavens, they would not appear in his navel. If he wished to prophesy that they would attain the enlightenment of a Shravaka, they would not appear in his face. If he wished to prophesy that they would attain the enlightenment of a Pratyekabuddha, they would not appear in the hair between his eyebrows. If he wished to prophesy that they would attain unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, they would not appear on the crown of his head. Then, those rays of light circled the Blessed One three times, and then disappeared into the hair between the Blessed One's eyebrows. Then, the venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, asked the Blessed One: "Various lights interwoven with a thousand colors, have emerged from the door of your mouth, illuminating all directions, just as the sun rises." Again, he asked in verse: "The Buddha, free from noise, not delighting in gluttony, having abandoned it, is the supreme cause for beings. The victorious, the conquerors of enemies, do not show a smile like the root of a lotus and the color of a conch shell without cause or condition. O Stable One, you know the right time with your wisdom."
