Then it became invisible. Then, the Venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, asked the Blessed One: "Various colors interwoven with a thousand hues, emerged from the mouths of many Bhagavats, illuminating all directions, just like the rising sun." Again, he asked in verse: "Free from frivolity, disliking obesity, and abandoning it, the Buddha is the sacred source for beings. The victorious conquerors of enemies do not show a smile like the root of a lotus or the color of a conch shell without cause or condition. Since the steadfast one knows the opportune time with his own wisdom, O monks, kings, listeners, and seekers of tranquility, please dispel the doubts that have arisen from the steadfast and supreme words of the Sage Lion and the virtuous ones. Like the ocean and the king of mountains, steadfast, O Protector, Perfect Buddhas, why do you not show a smile now? For what reason does the hero show a smile? Most people wish to hear it from you." The Blessed One said: "Ananda, it is just so. It is just so. Ananda, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Buddhas, do not show a smile without cause or reason. Ananda, do you see how this householder has shown me such respect?" "Venerable One, I see it." "Ananda, this householder, by completely giving away the roots of virtue, the mind of enlightenment, and the Dharma to be given, will perfectly accomplish the Bodhi that should be perfectly accomplished through three countless eons, completely subduing with great compassion, perfecting the six perfections, possessing the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the three unmixed mindfulnesses, and the Perfect Buddha with great compassion, will become known as the giver of divine food, appearing in the world. The Dharma that he should give is this, which has manifested joy in my heart." At this time, King Bimbisara of Magadha and his attendants, having heard this, were greatly astonished. Then, the monks arose with doubts and asked the Buddha, the Blessed One, who cuts off all doubts: "Blessed One,

Behold, this householder makes offerings with the wealth of gods and humans to the Blessed One and the monastic community of hearers. The Blessed One said: Monks, the Thus-Gone One himself, in other past lives, accumulated merit and possessed the completed causes, thus arising like a raging flood. Because of having done and accumulated those deeds that will not be in vain, who else will experience these deeds that I have done and accumulated? Monks, the deeds done and accumulated will not ripen in the external realm of earth, nor will they ripen in the realm of water, fire, or wind. The virtuous and non-virtuous deeds done and accumulated will only ripen in the aggregates, realms, and sources that are grasped. The deeds of sentient beings will not be wasted even for a hundred eons. When assembled and the time has come, they will ripen into fruit. Monks, in the past, there appeared in the world a Thus-Gone One, an Arhat, a Perfectly Awakened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, a Sugata, a Knower of the World, a Guide for those who need to be tamed, an unsurpassed being, a Teacher of gods and humans, a Buddha, a Blessed One, named Gango (གང་པོ་). Then, the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Gango, after wandering and passing away, came to a courtyard of a royal palace. A king of the Kshatriya caste, who had been consecrated, heard that the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Gango, after wandering and passing away, had come to the courtyard of the royal palace. Having heard this, the king, possessing great royal wealth and great royal power, went to where the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Gango was. Having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Gango and sat down to one side. Having sat down to one side, that king of the Kshatriya caste, who had been consecrated, allowed the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Gango to correctly teach him the Dharma for attaining enlightenment. Then, that king of the Kshatriya caste, who had been consecrated, to the Perfectly Awakened Buddha Gango and the monastic community of hearers,

We offered him clothes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and medical supplies for three months. The perfectly enlightened Victorious One did not say anything, so it was permitted. Then, the king who was crowned from the head of the Brahmin caste, knowing that the perfectly enlightened Victorious One did not say anything meant it was permitted, served and honored him for three months with clothes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and medical supplies. The image of the Blessed One was also made of precious jewels, and a Buddha festival was held, where hundreds of thousands of beings gained great faith, and due to that cause and condition, they were completely liberated from suffering. Monks, what do you think? The one who became king at that time was me. Because I made such an offering to the perfectly enlightened Victorious One, I experienced infinite happiness in samsara. Because of that reason, even now when I have become the Tathagata, merchants and Indra have made such offerings to me. Monks, therefore, you should train like this: respect the teacher, regard him as a guru, regard him as an example, and make offerings. Respect the teacher, regard him as a guru, regard him as an example, and after making offerings, rely on him and abide. Monks, you should train like this. After the Blessed One said this, the monks rejoiced and praised the words spoken by the Blessed One. The second verse from the hundred parables of "Victorious One" and others is completed. Second verse.
