Having gone between the earth and the gods of Akanishta, proclaimed the sound of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. Also recited two verses: Strive to initiate renunciation, unite with the Buddha's teachings. Like an elephant destroying a reed house, destroy the army of the Lord of Death. Whoever in this Dharma-Vinaya, acts with diligence, having completely abandoned the cycle of rebirth, will exhaust suffering. Thus it is proclaimed. Then, those rays of light circled the three-thousand great-thousand world system, following behind the Blessed One himself. If the Blessed One wished to prophesy past actions, they would not appear on the back of the Blessed One. If he wished to prophesy future actions, they would not appear in front. If he wished to prophesy that beings would be born in hell, they would not appear on the soles of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as animals, they would not appear on the heels of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as pretas, they would not appear on his toes. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as humans, they would not appear on his two knees. If he wished to prophesy that he would become a wheel-turning king of strength, they would not appear on the palm of his left hand. If he wished to prophesy that he would become a wheel-turning king, they would not appear on the palm of his right hand. If he wished to prophesy that he would be born as a god, they would not appear on his navel. If he wished to prophesy that he would attain the Bodhi of a Hearer, they would not appear on his face. If he wished to prophesy that he would attain the Bodhi of a Pratyekabuddha, they would not appear on the hair between his eyebrows. If he wished to prophesy that he would attain the Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Bodhi, they would not appear on the crown of his head. Then, those rays of light circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and disappeared into the crown of the Blessed One's head. Then, the venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, asked the Blessed One: "Various kinds of light, interwoven with a thousand colors, have emerged from the door of your mouth."
