After making all the offerings, thousands of people of various sects ate food there. When the Blessed One subdued King Rupavan Heart with his retinue, and by subduing him, hundreds of thousands of beings were tamed, at that time, the relatives of Gampo from Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir in Bihar) came and praised the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha in front of Gampo. Then, the Brahmin Gampo, who was tall and great, having heard the virtues of the Blessed One, gained great joy. Then, he went to the roof and sat facing the side of Rajagriha, kneeling on both knees and placing his knees on the ground, and also scattered flowers, offered incense and water, and prayed to the Blessed One: Blessed One, please come to my offering, please behold the place of offering. Then, by the power of the Buddhas and the power of the gods, those flowers turned into a flower house above the Blessed One. The incense became like the head of a cloud. The water became like a tree of lapis lazuli. Then, the venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, asked the Blessed One: Venerable, from where does this invitation come? The Blessed One replied: Ananda, in the region called the Southern Mountains, there lives a tall and great Brahmin named Gampo, we must go there, monks, put on your robes. Then, the Blessed One, attended by a thousand monks, traveled through the region of the Southern Mountains, and came to a place near the offering site of the tall and great Brahmin Gampo. He thought to himself: I should make the Brahmin Gampo have faith through miraculous displays. Then, the Blessed One made those thousand monks disappear, and alone, carrying a begging bowl and a water pot in his hands, he went near Gampo. Then, the tall and great Brahmin Gampo saw the Blessed One's body adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, beautified by the eighty minor marks, surrounded by a fathom of light, possessing light surpassing a thousand suns, a precious

Seeing that it was like a mountain walking, everything was good. Having seen this, he went very quickly to the Blessed One and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, you have come well! Blessed One, please abide! Please allow me to offer food for the sake of benefiting me. The Blessed One said: If you give it all away, then give it into this alms bowl. Then, the great and tall Brahmin, Gangpo, attended by five hundred Brahmin boys, brought various kinds of food to the Blessed One, and filled the alms bowl with food, soft food, lickable food, chewable food, and so on. The Blessed One also transferred those foods from his own alms bowl into the alms bowls of a thousand monks. When the Blessed One realized that the alms bowls of a thousand monks were full, he showed that his own alms bowl was also full. Then, he showed the thousand monks' alms bowls filled with food, arranged like the shape of a crescent moon. The gods dwelling in the sky also proclaimed the sound: The Blessed One and the alms bowls of a thousand monks have become full! Then, through showing miracles, the great and tall Brahmin, Gangpo, became joyful. He became joyful, content, and exceedingly joyful, feeling pleased, delighted, and content. Like a tree cut from its roots, he prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One and made the aspiration: By this root of virtue, generation of the mind of enlightenment, and the complete giving of the Dharma of generosity, may I become a Buddha who leads the blind world without a guide and without a complete guide, liberating beings who have not been liberated, freeing those who have not been freed, giving breath to those who have not obtained breath, and completely liberating those who have not completely passed beyond suffering. Then, the Blessed One, knowing the succession of causes from one to another and the succession of actions from one to another of the great and tall Brahmin, Gangpo, smiled. This is the nature of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, when they smile; at that time, blue, yellow, red, and white rays of light came forth from his mouth, and some of them
