If it were intended to foretell the birth of a wheel-turning king, it would not appear on the knees. If it were intended to foretell the birth of a powerful wheel-turning king, it would not appear on the palm of the left hand. If it were intended to foretell the birth of a wheel-turning king, it would not appear on the palm of the right hand. If it were intended to foretell that he will be born as a god, it would not appear on the navel. If it were intended to foretell the enlightenment of a Shravaka, it would not appear on the face. If it were intended to foretell the enlightenment of a Pratyekabuddha, it would not appear on the hair between the eyebrows. If it were intended to foretell the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, it would not appear on the crown of the head. Then, those rays of light circumambulated the Bhagavan three times and disappeared into the crown of the Bhagavan's head. Then, the venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, asked the Bhagavan: "A variety of thousands of colors, have emerged from the door of your mouth. They illuminate all directions, just as the rising sun does." Again, he requested in verse: "Free from arrogance, not pleased with greed, abandoning pride, the Buddha, who has become the supreme cause for beings, the victorious conquerors of enemies, do not show a smile like the root of a lotus and the color of a conch shell without cause or condition. Since the Steadfast One knows the opportune time with his own mind, the ascetics, the victorious kings, and those who seek truth, request that the doubts that have arisen in the good ones be dispelled by the supreme and steadfast speech of the Thupa, the best of the herd. The protectors, the fully enlightened Buddhas, who are as steadfast as the ocean and the king of mountains, do not show a smile now. For what reason does the hero show a smile? The majority of people wish to hear it from you." The Bhagavan said: "Ananda, it is so, it is so. Ananda, the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, do not smile without cause or condition. Ananda, did you see that Thagapa Zla-ba (Moon) has shown me such respect?" "Venerable one, I saw it." "Ananda, the root of virtue, the generation of the mind, and the giving of this Thagapa Zla-ba (Moon)..."

By completely relinquishing this Dharma of practice, one will perfectly accomplish the Bodhi to be perfectly accomplished through three countless eons. Having perfected the six Paramitas embraced by great compassion, possessing the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the three unmixed mindfulnesses, and the perfectly complete Buddha endowed with great compassion, one will become known as "Kshara Kshara Lama" and will appear in the world. The Dharma of giving that he practices is that which makes my mind rejoice. The Bhagavan spoke thus, and the monks rejoiced, praising the words of the Bhagavan. "Greatness" means that the Buddha Bhagavan was honored, revered as a teacher, respected, and offered to by kings, great ministers, wealthy people, members of the palace retinue, merchants, captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas. The gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, knowing and making offerings, the Buddha Bhagavan, endowed with great merit, possessed robes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine for the sick, and medicinal supplies, and resided with the Sangha of Shravakas in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden. At that time, there lived in Shravasti a man named the eldest son of a merchant. He was very prone to being overcome by anger and made offerings to the six teachers, including the Purana Kassapa. Later, he was afflicted with a serious illness, without a doctor, medicine, or nursing, and was on the verge of death, thinking: Now that I am suffering, who other than the Buddha can be my protector or give me life? Then, having thought thus, he prayed to the Bhagavan. At that time, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat.
