If it is desired to prophesy Buddhahood, then it will not appear on the crown of the head. Then those rays of light circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and disappeared into the crown of the Blessed One's head. Then, the venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, said to the Blessed One: "Various lights interwoven with a thousand colors, have emerged from the door of your mouth, illuminating all directions, just as the rising sun does." Again, he asked in verse: "Free from arrogance, not delighting in greed, abandoning all, the Buddha, who has become the sacred source for beings. The victorious conquerors do not show a smile like the root of a lotus and the color of a conch shell without cause or condition. Because you know the right time with your steadfast mind, please dispel the doubts that arise in the minds of the ascetics, the victorious ones, and those who seek doubts, regarding the supreme teachings of the Tushita, the best of the herd, and the doubts that arise in the minds of the good ones. The protectors, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, who are as steadfast as the ocean and the king of mountains, do not show a smile without reason. For what reason, O hero, do you show a smile? Most people desire to hear from you." The Blessed One said: "Ananda, it is indeed so. It is indeed so, Ananda, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Enlightened Buddhas do not show a smile without cause or condition. Ananda, have you seen this captain showing me such respect? Venerable one, I have seen it. Ananda, this captain's roots of virtue, his aspiration, and his complete giving of the Dharma to be given, will accomplish the Bodhi to be perfectly accomplished through countless eons, and having fully matured through great compassion, having perfected the six paramitas, possessing the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the three unmixed mindfulnesses, and the perfectly enlightened Buddha possessing great compassion, he will become known as Fragrance Supreme and will appear in the world. His act of giving is this, that he has made my mind exceedingly joyful. Thus spoke the Blessed One.

Tsal Nas. The monks rejoiced and praised the Blessed One's words. The so-called "Moon" refers to the fact that kings, great ministers, wealthy people, palace attendants, merchants, captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas all revered, respected, honored as teachers, paid homage, and made offerings to the Buddha, the Blessed One. The Buddha, the Blessed One, who was offered to and known by gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, possessed great merit and obtained robes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and medical supplies. Together with the monastic community of Shravakas, he resided in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Garden of Prince Jeta. At that time, in Shravasti, there lived a weaver named Chandra (Moon), who was poor and extremely destitute. Whatever work he did, he could only barely earn enough food for the day, and he had no savings at all. Then he thought to himself: "I have come here without accumulating merit from the previous life, and now I am not doing any good deeds. Thus, from here to the next life, I will not have accumulated merit or done any good deeds. I am afraid that I will have to go without any support and in fear. I must definitely make offerings to the Blessed One with something." Then he wove cloth for another householder, took some scraps of cloth from him, and went into the market. In the morning, the Blessed One put on his lower garment and Dharma robes, carried his bowl, and went to Shravasti for alms. Then he saw the Buddha, the Blessed One, whose body was well adorned with the thirty-two major marks, beautified by the eighty minor marks, surrounded by a fathom of light, possessing light surpassing a thousand suns, and perfect like a walking mountain of jewels. Having seen him, he developed great joy in his mind towards the Blessed One. The Blessed One also to him
