Without cause or condition, they do not show a smile like the lotus root and conch color. Since the steadfast one knows the times with his own wisdom, I pray that the monks, kings, listeners, and those seeking doubt, May the supreme words of the subduer, the best of the flock, be steadfast, And may the doubts that arise in the virtuous ones be dispelled. Like the ocean and Mount Sumeru, steadfast, The protectors, the perfect Buddhas, also do not show a smile. For whose benefit do the heroes show a smile, It is time for you to listen to the majority of beings. The Blessed One said, "Ananda, it is so." "It is so, Ananda, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, do not smile without cause or condition." "Ananda, have you seen these friendly troops showing me such respect?" "Venerable one, I have seen it." "Ananda, these friendly troops, by completely giving away the roots of virtue, the generation of the mind, and the Dharma to be given, will not fall into evil destinies for twenty kalpas. When they obtain the last existence, the last place, the last body, and the last self, they will all become silent self-Buddhas." "Their Dharma to be given is this, which has been done with intention and in between for me." "Therefore, monks, you should train like this: 'We shall show respect to the Buddhas, the self-Buddhas, and the hearers.' Monks, you should train like this." After the Blessed One had spoken thus, the monks rejoiced and greatly praised what the Blessed One had said. The third chapter of the summary verses from the Hundred Parables of Gangpo, etc., is completed. The fourth chapter of the summary verses. The Hundred Parables of Gangpo, etc., the eighth fascicle. The gods and, the captains and, the deities and, the nagas and, the yakshas and, the asuras and, the garudas and, the kinnaras and, the mahoragas revered, respected, honored, and offered to. The Buddha, the Blessed One, who was revered and known by the gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, possessed great merit, and had obtained robes, food, bedding, seats, medicine, and medical supplies. He was dwelling in Jeta's Grove in Anathapindika's Park in Shravasti, together with the monastic community of shravakas. Then, in the autumn season, the monks were afflicted with jaundice, and their bodies became emaciated and weak. The Blessed One was free from illness, without harm, and not afflicted by disease, and possessed strength. Then the monks, having seen this, reported to the Blessed One: "Venerable One, some monks are afflicted with jaundice, and their bodies have become emaciated and weak. The Blessed One is free from illness, without harm, and possesses strength, and is naturally free from illness, and observes that his gastric fire is balanced and possesses digestive capacity." He said: "Monks, the Tathagata himself, in other past lives, has accumulated merit and possessed the conditions, and comes like a flood, and has done and accumulated deeds that will not be eaten by demons. Who else will experience the deeds that I have done and accumulated? Monks, the deeds that have been done and accumulated will not ripen in the external realm of earth, nor will they ripen in the realm of water, fire, or wind. The virtuous and non-virtuous deeds that have been done and accumulated will only ripen in the aggregates, realms, and sources that have been grasped. The deeds of beings will not be wasted even for hundreds of kalpas. When they gather and the time arrives, they will ripen into fruit. Monks, in the past, in the city of Varanasi, there was a king named Padma."

At that time, he became the king. During that time, there was wealth, prosperity, peace, good harvests, filled with people and many beings, fighting and disputes were pacified, wars, internal strife, thieves, famine, and diseases were absent, and there was abundance of rice, sugarcane, cattle, and buffalo. There was no harm, and like caring for an only child, he carefully ruled the kingdom. That king was also endowed with faith, virtuous, with good thoughts, engaged in benefiting himself and others, greatly compassionate, great-minded, desiring Dharma, loving to all beings, giving all things, completely giving away, giving without attachment, abiding in great generosity. At that time, in Varanasi, due to the imbalance of seasons, a great human disease occurred, and most beings were afflicted with leprosy. Then, the king saw these beings and generated compassion, thinking: I must protect and heal them. Then, he gathered all the doctors in the country, instructing them to understand the root, location, and previous basis of the diseases of these beings. After that, he personally healed and collected all the medicines. Then, he healed, providing wealth, medicine, and care, but for a long time, he was unable to heal these beings. Then, the king summoned all the doctors and respectfully asked: Why are these beings so difficult to heal? Then, the doctors investigated and unanimously reported the advantages and disadvantages: This is caused by the imbalance of the seasons and the imbalance of elements. Although we are not very clear, there is a medicine called Fish Rohita (nya ro hi ta), and if it can be found, it can heal. Then, the king began to search everywhere for Fish Rohita (nya ro hi ta), sending many people to search, but it was not found. Then, they reported to the king. Later, one day, the king went out for a walk, and those patients also gathered together and reported to the king: Great king, please completely protect us from this disease and grant us life. Then the king said to the patients.
