Like an elephant in a mother's womb, destroy the armies of the Lord of Death. Whoever practices diligently in this Dharma and Discipline, having completely abandoned the cycle of birth, will eliminate suffering. Thus it is said. Then those rays of light circled the three-thousand great-thousand world realm and followed after the Blessed One. If the Blessed One wished to indicate past actions, they would not appear on the Blessed One's robe. If he wished to indicate future actions, they would not appear in front. If he wished to indicate beings being born in hell, they would not appear on the soles of his feet. If he wished to indicate being born as animals, they would not appear on the heels of his feet. If he wished to indicate being born as hungry ghosts, they would not appear on the thumbs of his feet. If he wished to indicate being born as humans, they would not appear on his knees. If he wished to indicate a powerful wheel-turning king, they would not appear on the palm of his left hand. If he wished to indicate a wheel-turning king, they would not appear on the palm of his right hand. If he wished to indicate being born as a god, they would not appear on his navel. If he wished to indicate the Bodhi of a Hearer, they would not appear on his face. If he wished to indicate the Bodhi of a Solitary Buddha, they would not appear on the hair between his eyebrows. If he wished to indicate unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Bodhi, they would not appear on the crown of his head. Then those rays of light circled the Blessed One three times and disappeared into the hair between the Blessed One's eyebrows. Then the venerable Ānanda, with his palms joined, asked the Blessed One: "Various colors adorned with a thousand hues, many have come forth from the door of your mouth, they illuminate all directions, just as the rising sun does." Again, he asked in verse: "Free from frivolity, not delighting in gluttony, having abandoned it, the Buddha is the supreme cause for beings, the victorious conquerors of enemies are..."
