After the Blessed One spoke thus, the monks rejoiced and praised the words of the Blessed One. The name Lotus is: To the Buddha, the Blessed One, kings and great ministers, the rich and the people of the palace, merchants and captains, gods and nagas, yakshas and asuras, garudas and kinnaras, and the great belly-crawlers all respected. Take as a guru. Draw pictures. Make offerings. The gods and nagas, yakshas and asuras, garudas and kinnaras, and the great belly-crawlers, the Buddha, the Blessed One, who is worshipped and known, endowed with great merit, possessing clothes and food, bedding and cushions, medicine and medicine, together with the Shravaka Sangha, resided in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden of the solitary giver. At that time, according to the customs of those living in the central region, the guardians of the Jeta Grove picked lotuses and went to the street to sell them. Then, the Blessed One, in the early morning, put on his skirt and Dharma robes, and carrying his bowl, went to Shravasti for alms. A woman was walking on the street carrying a child in her arms, and the child saw the Buddha, the Blessed One, whose body was adorned with the thirty-two marks of a great man, beautified by the eighty minor marks, surrounded by a fathom of light, possessing light surpassing a thousand suns, beautiful like a walking jewel mountain. Having seen this, he felt joy and hurriedly stretched out his hand to take a lotus from the guardian of the Jeta Grove and threw it on the head of the Tathagata. Then, the lotus became as big as a chariot wheel and stayed in the sky above, following the Blessed One when he walked and staying when he stayed. Then, the Blessed One

Having emitted rays of light resembling the color of a red lotus, it made the audience completely visible. Therefore, the king, ministers, and palace attendants developed faith. Then, the Blessed One smiled. This is the nature of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, when they smile: at that time, blue, yellow, red, and white rays of light emanated from their mouths, some going downwards and some going upwards. Those that went downwards were the sentient beings in the hells of revival, black lines, aggregation, wailing, great wailing, heat, great heat, uninterrupted suffering, blisters, bursting blisters, gnashing teeth, "kyi hud" sounds, "a chu" sounds, those that burst like উৎপལ་ उत्पལ་ utpala (blue lotus, lotus), those that burst like a lotus, and those that burst like a great lotus. In those hot sentient being hells, the light became cool and descended; in those cold sentient being hells, the light became warm and descended. Thus, the differences in the suffering of those sentient beings were pacified. Then, they thought to themselves, "Alas, have we died and transmigrated from here, or have we been reborn elsewhere?" Then, in order to generate faith in them, the Blessed One manifested emanations. Having seen the emanations, they thought to themselves, "Alas, we have neither died and transmigrated from here, nor have we been reborn elsewhere, but through the power of this unprecedented sentient being appearance, the differences in our suffering have been pacified." Then, they became delighted in their minds towards the emanations, and thus, the karma that would cause them to experience sentient being hell was exhausted, and among gods and humans, in those places suitable to become vessels of truth, they would take rebirth. Those that went upwards were the retinues of the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three, the Free from Strife, the Joyful, the Delighting in Emanation, the Others' Wielding Power, the Brahma retinues, the Brahma Assistants, the Great Brahmas, the Small Light, the Immeasurable Light, the Clear Light
