Endowed with knowledge and conduct, Well-Gone, World-Knower, Unsurpassed Guide of beings to be tamed, Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha Bhagavan Light-Store by name, appeared in the world. He dwelt in the Deer Park at the Hermit's Fall in the city of Varanasi. Thereafter, the perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha Light-Store, having accomplished all the deeds of a Buddha, like a fire whose fuel is exhausted, completely passed into nirvana in the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates. King Kṛkī made an offering of relics to his relics, and built a stupa made of four kinds of precious jewels, one yojana in circumference and one krosha in height. When a festival was held at that stupa, a jeweler tied two gold coins to the life-pillar of that stupa. Then, bowing at his feet, he made a prayer: "Wherever I am born, may I always have gold in my hands." The Bhagavan said to the monks: "What do you think? The jeweler at that time was this one who holds gold in his hand. Because he tied two gold coins to the stupa, he has become so special. Because he made a prayer, he has now realized the state of an Arhat." Monks, thus, the definitely black deeds, their ripening will also definitely be black. The definitely white deeds, their ripening will also definitely be white. Mixed deeds, their ripening will also be mixed. Monks, therefore, one should abandon the definitely black deeds and the mixed deeds, and should only commit to the definitely white deeds. Monks, you should train yourselves in this way." After the Bhagavan had spoken thus, those monks rejoiced, and greatly praised what the Bhagavan had said. The Hundred Discourses of Gampo and Others, the Nineteenth Volume, called the Tripitaka, is where the Buddha Bhagavan, the kings and great

I, the rich and, the people around the palace and, the merchants and, the captains and, the gods and, the nagas and, the yakshas and, the asuras and, the garudas and, the kinnaras and, the mahoragas, were honored and served, respected as teachers, painted in images, and offered to. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, endowed with great merit, who is worshiped and known by the gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, having obtained robes and, food and, bedding and, cushions and, medicine and, medicinal supplies, together with the monastic community of shravakas, was residing in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Garden of Anathapindika. At that time, in Shravasti, the king of Kosala was King Prasenajit. During that time, there was wealth and, prosperity and, happiness and, good harvests and, it was filled with people and many people and, disputes and, battles were pacified and, conflicts and, civil wars and, thieves and, famine and, diseases were absent, and there were rice and, sugarcane and, cattle and, buffalo, without harm, and he ruled the kingdom as if caring for an only child. Then, after some time, he played and rejoiced with the queen, happy and joyful. As he played and rejoiced with the queen, the queen became pregnant. After eight or nine months of pregnancy, she gave birth to a son, a boy who was born wearing colored Dharma robes, with the appearance of a renunciate, and who remembered his past lives. As soon as he was born, he asked: Are the Bhagavan and, Shariputra and, Maudgalyayana and, Kashyapa and, Ananda and other great shravakas residing in this very Shravasti? Then his mother was amazed and, filled with joy, said: Son, the Bhagavan and the great shravakas are residing in this very Shravasti. Then, after some time, this matter was reported to King Prasenajit, saying that your son was born wearing colored Dharma robes, with the appearance of a renunciate, and who remembers his past lives, and that he asked about the Bhagavan and the great shravakas.

Oh, where do they reside, it was also asked. Then, King Prasenajit, in order to benefit that child, invited the Blessed One along with the assembly of monastic disciples for a meal. Then, the Blessed One, attended by the assembly of monks, with the assembly of monks leading the way, went to the palace of King Prasenajit, and sat down on the seat prepared in the midst of the assembly of monks. Then, King Prasenajit of Kosala took the child in his lap and presented him before the Blessed One, saying: "Blessed One, this child of mine, as soon as he was born, remembered the Blessed One and the great disciples." Then, the Blessed One said to that child: "O Tripitaka-holder, may you be free from illness." Then, he said: "I prostrate to the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One." Then, King Prasenajit was greatly amazed. Then, when he was born and reached the age of seven, wearing those same colored Dharma robes, he went forth into the teachings of the Blessed One. Through diligence, practice, and effort, he realized that this wheel of samsara with its five eyes is wavering and unstable, and thus he thoroughly understood that the nature of all conditioned phenomena is to be destroyed, to fall, to be scattered, and to perish. Having abandoned all defilements, he directly realized the state of an Arhat. The Arhat, having become free from desire for the three realms, possessed an equanimity like gold and dung, a mind like the sky and the palm of the hand, and had become as cool as sandalwood soaked in water. He shattered the shell of ignorance with wisdom, and attained wisdom, supernormal powers, and individual perfect knowledge. He did not look to worldly gain, attachment, and veneration. He became an object of offering, remembrance, and reverence by the gods, including those with power and their attendants. Then, the monks had doubts and asked the Buddha, the Blessed One, who cuts through all doubts: "Venerable One, what deeds did the Tripitaka-holder do that he was born wearing colored Dharma robes, possessing the appearance of a renunciant, remembering his past lives, and also after going forth, became an A
