That one who was ordained from the Khenmo was shown by the Blessed One Light Protector to be the best of those who hold hearing. Then, that Bhikshuni, at the time of death, made a prayer: Just as I, the Khenmo, have been shown to be the best of those who hold hearing, likewise, in the future, the Blessed One Light Protector said to the Brahmin boy Lama, "Brahmin boy, when you are able to live a hundred years of life for beings, you will become the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha Shakyamuni." Whatever is the teaching of the Blessed One who received this prophecy, I will be able to be ordained, may the Blessed One Shakyamuni show me as the best of those who hold hearing. The Blessed One said: Bhikshus, what do you think? Whoever became a Brahmin girl at that time, at that moment, is this Bhikshuni Moon, because she made a prayer, she has been shown to be the best of those who hold hearing. She received the prophecy there, learned and recited it, therefore she has now realized the Arhatship. Bhikshus, thus, those who are definitely black deeds, their ripening will also definitely be black. Those who are definitely white deeds, their ripening will also definitely be white. Mixed deeds, their ripening will also be mixed. Bhikshus, therefore, one should abandon those who are definitely black deeds and mixed deeds, and only dedicate oneself to those who are definitely white deeds. Bhikshus, you should learn in this way. After the Blessed One said this, the Bhikshus rejoiced and praised the words of the Blessed One. The so-called "Utpala" is that kings, great ministers, wealthy people, palace attendants, merchants, captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and great belly-crawlers all respect, honor, regard as teachers, draw pictures, and make offerings to the Buddha, including gods, nagas, and yakshas.

And, Asuras, Garudas, Kinnaras, Mahoragas, etc., revered and knew the Blessed One Buddha, endowed with great merit, who had obtained robes, food, bedding, seats, sickness remedies, and medicines, together with the Sangha of Shravakas, residing and dwelling in the Bamboo Grove Kalandaka in the city of Rajagriha. At that time, in the city of Rajagriha, there was a festival called the meeting of the Dragon King Mountain Peak and Delightful, and many people gathered from all six great cities. After a while, a teacher of dramatic arts came from the south, whose daughter was named Utpala, beautiful in appearance, pleasing to the eye, lovely, possessing all limbs and details, and proud of her youth and healthy plumpness. When she came among the audience, all the spectators admired and looked at her, and even those with fewer discriminating thoughts were captivated by her. There, when the festival came, the six teachers, including the Completer, also came. Then, the daughter Utpala said to many people: 'Hey, in the city of Rajagriha, among human beings, is there anyone who is equal to me in appearance, or even more outstanding?' Many people said: 'There is the Shramana Gautama and his retinue.' Utpala said: 'Is he a human or a deva?' Many people said: 'Although he is a human, he is the all-knowing one.' After hearing these words, Utpala, adorned with all her ornaments, went to the Blessed One. Having arrived, she sat before the Blessed One, dancing, singing, and playing music. She displayed the characteristics of a woman, the signs of a woman, the hints of a woman, and the playfulness of a woman. There, those monks who had not yet separated from desire became helpless. Then, the Blessed One, in order to subdue those monks who were more inclined to desire, and to dispel the pride of Utpala arising from her appearance and youth,

Then, by what miraculous manifestation did he manifest such a miracle to Udapala, causing her to age and become decrepit, with white hair and falling teeth, bent over like a ninety-year-old woman? Thus he manifested the miracle. Then, in the moment of that transformation, Udapala saw herself as ugly, and her beauty and youth disappeared. The monks who were very lustful also became disgusted. Then, Udapala, having lost her beauty, bowed her head at the feet of the Blessed One and pleaded with the Blessed One: "Blessed One, please teach me the Dharma that will enable me to be completely liberated from this body of pus and blood with little effort." Then, the Blessed One, understanding the thoughts, habits, faculties, and nature of Udapala and those monks who were not free from desire, taught them the Dharma that would lead them to realize the Four Noble Truths. Having heard it, some, having destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, directly realized the fruit of stream-entry. Some directly realized the fruit of once-returner. Some directly realized the fruit of non-returner. Some went forth, abandoning all defilements, and directly realized the state of an Arhat. Udapala also gained faith and went forth in the presence of the Blessed One. Through diligence, practice, and effort, she realized that this wheel of the five-aggregate cycle of existence is moving and unstable, and she thoroughly understood that all conditioned phenomena are of the nature of decay, decline, disintegration, and destruction. Having abandoned all defilements, she directly realized the state of an Arhat. That Arhat, having become free from desire in the three realms, with a mind that equated gold and dung, that equated the sky and the palm of the hand, having become cool like sandalwood soaked in water, having broken the shell of ignorance with wisdom, having obtained wisdom, supernormal powers, and perfect discrimination, not looking to the gains, attachments, and honors of existence, was worshipped, remembered, and revered by the gods with power and near power.
