By this root of virtue of the Tagapa month, generating Bodhicitta, and giving the Dharma of generosity, By this complete abandonment, having perfectly accomplished the Bodhi to be perfectly accomplished through three countless kalpas. Having completely perfected the six paramitas completely embraced by great compassion, possessing the ten powers, four fearlessnesses, three unmixed mindfulnesses, and the perfectly enlightened Buddha possessing great compassion, named Tsartsara Lama, will appear in the world. The Dharma to be given is that which makes my mind rejoice. After the Blessed One spoke thus, those monks rejoiced and praised the words of the Blessed One. What is called greatness is that the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are honored by kings, great ministers, wealthy people, palace attendants, merchants, captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas. They are revered as teachers, painted, and offered. The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who are offered and known by gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, possess great merit and obtain robes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and medical supplies. Together with the Shravaka Sangha, they reside in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden. At that time, in Shravasti, there lived a man named Great Merchant's Son. He was very prone to being overwhelmed by anger and made offerings to the six teachers, including the Puranas. Later, he was afflicted with a serious illness, without doctors, medicine, or nursing, and was on the verge of death. He thought to himself: Now that I am suffering, who other than the Buddha can protect me or give me life? Then, having thought thus, he prayed to the Blessed One.

Thus it is. At that time, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, had nothing that they did not know, nothing that they did not see, nothing that they did not understand, and nothing that they did not comprehend. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, possessed great compassion, engaged in benefiting the world, possessed a single protection, were uniquely brave, incomparable, did not speak in two ways, dwelled in tranquility and insight, manifested the three knowledges, were well-trained in the three trainings, were skilled in the three bases of discipline, crossed the four rivers, had extremely firm soles of their feet due to the four legs of miraculous power, had long been familiar with the four objects of gathering, were fearless with the four fearlessnesses, proclaimed the great lion's roar of the supreme leader, completely abandoned the five branches, completely transcended the five realms of existence, possessed six branches, perfected the six perfections, dwelt in the six things to be constantly abiding, were rich in the flowers of the seven branches of enlightenment, taught the eightfold path, were skilled in the nine successive abidings, possessed the power of the ten strengths, were completely expanded by fame in the ten directions, and were even more exceptionally superior than those who wield power over a hundredfold. According to the Dharma, three times during the day and three times during the night, they would observe the world with the Buddha's eye, thinking: Who is declining? Who is prospering? Who is poor? Who is distressed? Who has harm? Who is poor, distressed, and has harm? Who is inclined towards the lower realms? Who is falling into the lower realms? Who has fallen into the lower realms? Who shall I rescue from the lower realms and place in the heavens, liberation, and fruition? Who is sinking in the swamp of desire, whom shall I pull out by the hand? Who lacks the seven noble riches, whom shall I cause to wield power over the seven noble riches? Who has not generated roots of virtue, whom shall I cause to generate them? Who has already generated roots of virtue, whom shall I cause to fully ripen them? Who has already fully ripened, whom shall I cause to be completely liberated? Thus, they would engage in seeing with the eye of wisdom. Here it is said: The ocean is the abode of aquatic creatures, and even the tides may recede. But for the sons who are to be tamed, the Buddhas never miss the opportunity. Then, the Bhagavat

Then, the Thus-Gone One, seeing the condition of the merchant's eldest son, emitted golden rays of light, surpassing the light of a thousand suns, illuminating the entire house. He also emitted rays of loving-kindness, cultivated for a thousand eons, and as soon as they touched his body, he felt utterly refreshed. Then, the Thus-Gone One went to the door, and the gatekeeper informed him, saying, "The Thus-Gone One is at the door." Then, the merchant's eldest son was overjoyed, and his breath, which had been failing, returned, and he said, "It is good that the Thus-Gone One has come! Please invite the Thus-Gone One inside. I wish to see the face of the Thus-Gone One." Then, the Thus-Gone One went inside and sat on the prepared seat. After sitting, the Thus-Gone One said to him, "What troubles do you have?" He replied, "I have troubles of body and mind." Then, the Thus-Gone One taught him the instructions of loving-kindness for all sentient beings, saying, "This is the remedy for the suffering of your mind." Then, he generated a worldly aspiration, thinking, "If only the Lord of the Gods, Indra, would bring the medicinal śirīka from the fragrant mountain." As soon as the Thus-Gone One generated this thought, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, took the medicinal śirīka from the fragrant mountain and offered it to the Thus-Gone One. The Thus-Gone One also took it in his hand and gave it to him, saying, "This will pacify the suffering and heat of your body." Then, he obtained the bliss of a body and mind that were thoroughly purified, and his mind became joyful towards the Thus-Gone One. Having become joyful, he informed King Gsalgyal and offered a meal to the Thus-Gone One and the community of Śrāvakas, and offered a hundred thousand garments, and also made offerings with flowers, incense, and all kinds of flower garlands. Then, having rejoiced in his mind, he made the aspiration: "By this root of virtue, the generation of bodhicitta, and the complete giving of the Dharma of generosity, may I, like the Thus-Gone One, attain the unsurpassed perfec
