They should be given the power to possess the seven treasures of the earth. For those who have not yet generated roots of virtue, may they be generated. For those who have already generated roots of virtue, may they be fully matured. For those who have already fully matured, may they be liberated. With such wisdom, he enters into contemplation. Here it is said: The ocean is the abode of aquatic creatures, and even the waves may subside at times. But for those disciples who are to be tamed, the Buddha will not miss the opportunity. Then, in order to benefit the Blessed One King Rupin, after three months of summer, the Blessed One made robes, and after the robes were finished, he put on the robes, took the bowl, and gradually traveled through the lands, arriving at a forest. In that forest lived a parrot who understood human speech. It saw the Blessed One from afar. Then it went very quickly and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, please come here! Blessed One, it is good, it is good that you have come! Please benefit me! Please stay in this forest! So it said. Then, in order to benefit that parrot, the Blessed One spread a grass mat under the tree where the parrot lived, and sat in the lotus position. The great Shravakas sat under other trees. Then, the parrot, fearing that humans or non-humans, or yakshas, or rakshasas, or wild animals, or beasts of prey would harm the Blessed One and the Shravakas, patrolled back and forth in that forest throughout the night. Then, after dawn, it circumambulated the Blessed One three times and asked for forgiveness: Blessed One, I was born in the animal realm, and I have nothing to offer to the Blessed One, please forgive me. Even so, I would like to go ahead and inform King Rupin that the Blessed One has arrived. The Blessed One said: Do so. Then after a while, it set off ahead of the Blessed One and finally arrived at the king's place. At that time, King Rupin was on the top floor of the palace, playing musical instruments with many women, enjoying happiness and pleasure.

Then, the parrot who understood human language said to the king: "O King, may you know that the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) along with the Sangha of Hearers has come to your land. O God, it is fitting that you prepare a feast." Having said this, the king descended very quickly from the palace, attended by a retinue of great ministers. He arranged the seats for the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan), and welcomed the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) with umbrellas, banners, flags, incense, perfumes, and various kinds of flowers. Then, the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) along with the Sangha of Hearers, being greatly honored, was invited inside and satisfied with excellent food. Then, the parrot thought to itself: "All these riches of the Blessed One's (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) Sangha of Hearers are due to my merit!" Recognizing this, it felt joy, satisfaction, and delight. Overjoyed and happy, with a comfortable mind, it flew back and forth in front of the king, and was accidentally killed by a sword. Having generated joy towards the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) and died, it was reborn in the excellent heavenly realm of the Thirty-Three (one of the six heavens of the desire realm). Soon after being born as a son or daughter of the gods, by the nature of things, three thoughts arose: From where did I die and transmigrate? Where was I born? By what karma was I born? Then, it saw that it had died from the animal realm and was born in the excellent heavenly realm of the Thirty-Three (one of the six heavens of the desire realm), and that it was due to having generated joy towards the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan). Then, the son of the gods, who was formerly a parrot, thought: "It is not fitting for me to go to see the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) only after I have come of age. I will go to see the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) before I come of age." Then, the son of the gods, who was formerly a parrot, wearing earrings that shone and swayed, his body adorned with necklaces and pendants, wearing a crown adorned with various precious jewels, his body anointed with saffron, tamala leaves, and kala and other perfumes. That very night, he filled containers with heavenly utpala flowers, lotuses, kumuda flowers, white lotuses, and mandara flowers, and illuminated the entire garden of Prince Jeta with great light, and then went to the Blessed One (Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavat, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavat, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan).
