Speaking of what was lost, thinking that this must be more precious than the lost property, he instructed his servants: 'See who dropped this cloth on the ground.' As they searched, they soon saw the girl squatting there. They asked her. She said, 'I heard of the virtues of the Blessed One, and because I feared the fear of poverty, I offered the cloth I found to the Sangha of monks, including the Tathagata.' Then they told the householder Anathapindika. The householder Anathapindika was very surprised and dressed the girl in various clothes and ornaments. Later she died young and was reborn in the beautiful heaven of the Thirty-Three (Trayastrimsa). As soon as she was born, she had clothes that no other son or daughter of the gods had. Soon after a son or daughter of the gods is born, three thoughts arise according to the law: from where did he die and transmigrate, where was he born, and by what karma was he born. She saw that she had died from the human realm and was reborn in the beautiful heaven of the Thirty-Three (Trayastrimsa), and that it was because of offering cloth to the Blessed One. Then, the goddess who had offered cloth before, wearing swaying earrings and bracelets, adorned with necklaces and belts, wearing a crown adorned with various jewels, her body smeared with saffron, tamala leaves, and kara and other spices. That night, she filled the containers with heavenly utpala flowers, lotuses, water lilies, white lotuses, and mandara flowers, illuminating all the gardens of the victorious princes with great light, scattering flowers to the Blessed One, and sitting before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One understood the thoughts, habits, dispositions, and nature of the goddess who had offered cloth before, and taught her the Dharma that would enable her to realize the Four Noble Truths. After hearing the Dharma, the goddess who had offered cloth before destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and obtained the fruit of stream-entry. After seeing the truth, she spoke three times words of joy.

She said: Venerable Bhagavan, you have dried up my ocean of blood and tears, transcended the mountain of bones, closed the gates of the lower realms, opened the gates to heaven and liberation, and placed me among gods and humans. Like this, my father has not done for me, my mother has not done for me, the king has not done for me, the gods have not done for me, the assembly of family and relatives has not done for me, the previous teachers have not done for me, and the ascetics and Brahmins have not done for me! She also said: The path of the lower realms, filled with many faults, is extremely unbearable, but it has been cut off by your power. You have opened the path to heaven, which is full of merit, and I have also attained the path to Nirvana. Today, I have obtained the eye that abandons evil, relying entirely on you. I have crossed the ocean of suffering and attained the peaceful state of joy of the noble ones. The supreme among humans, the powerful one, worshiped by humans and gods, having abandoned the suffering of birth, aging, and death, the capable one, who is difficult to see in thousands of lifetimes, you are seen today, and the result is true and not false. Then, the one wearing the necklace became joyful, prostrated and paid homage to the two feet, circumambulated the Victorious One, and facing the heavenly realm, went to the heavenly realm. Then, like the daughter of the goddess offering silk, like a merchant gaining profit, a farmer obtaining a rich harvest, a warrior victorious in battle, and a sick person freed from all diseases, with the wealth that came to the Bhagavan, she returned to her own abode. The monks, not sleeping at night and dawn, diligently practicing, staying there, they saw the great light appearing before the Bhagavan. Having seen it, they arose with doubt and asked the Buddha Bhagavan, who cuts off all doubts: Bhagavan, what is the reason? Is it that the ruler of the Saha world, Brahma, or the lord of the gods, Indra, or the Four Great Kings have come to see the Bhagavan? The Bhagavan replied: Monks, it is not the ruler of the Saha world, Brahma, nor the lord of the gods, Indra, nor the Four Great Kings who have come to see me, but the woman offering silk.
