The Earth, the Joyful Emanation, the Others' Emanation Controlling, the Brahma Assembly, the Brahma Retinue, the Great Brahma, the Small Light, the Immeasurable Light, the Clear Light, the Small Virtue, the Immeasurable Virtue, the Abundant Virtue, the Cloudless, the Merit-Born, the Great Fruit, the Non-Afflicted, the Non-Hot, the Well-Appearing, the Extremely Well-Seeing, and having gone into the midst of the gods between Akanishta, they proclaim the sound of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. They also utter two verses: "Make an effort to renounce! Apply yourself to the Buddha's teachings! Like an elephant destroying a reed house, destroy the army of the Lord of Death!" "Whoever in this Dharma and Discipline, conducts themselves with mindfulness, having completely abandoned the cycle of birth, will bring suffering to an end." Thus they speak. Then, those rays of light circled the universe of the three-thousandfold great thousand world system, and followed after the Blessed One. If the Blessed One wished to prophesy past actions, they would not appear on the Blessed One's robe. If he wished to prophesy future actions, they would not appear in front. If he wished to prophesy that beings would be born in hell, they would not appear on the soles of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as animals, they would not appear on the heels of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as hungry ghosts, they would not appear on the toes of his feet. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as humans, they would not appear on his two knees. If he wished to prophesy that they would become a Wheel-Turning King of Strength, they would not appear on the palm of his left hand. If he wished to prophesy that they would become a Wheel-Turning King, they would not appear on the palm of his right hand. If he wished to prophesy that they would be born as gods, they would not appear on his navel. If he wished to prophesy that they would attain the Bodhi of a Hearer, they would not appear on his face. If he wished to prophesy that they would attain the Bodhi of a Solitary Buddha, they would not appear at the urn between his eyebrows.

The body will not appear. If you wish to prophesy the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment, then the crown of the head will not appear. Then those rays of light circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and disappeared into the crown of the Blessed One's head. Then, the Venerable Ananda, with his palms joined, asked the Blessed One: "Various lights, interwoven with a thousand colors, have emerged from the door of your mouth, illuminating all directions, just as the rising sun does." Again, he requested in verse: "Free from arrogance, not delighting in fatness, abandoning all, the Buddha, who has become the sacred source for beings, the victorious conquerors of enemies do not show a smile like the lotus root and conch shell without cause or condition. Since the Steadfast One knows the opportune time with his own wisdom, please allow the monks who seek doubt to dispel the doubts that have arisen in the good ones regarding the supreme teachings of the Teacher, the best of men. Like the ocean and the king of mountains, the protectors, the perfect Buddhas, do not easily show a smile. For what reason, O Hero, do you show a smile? Most people wish to hear the answer from you." The Blessed One said: "Ananda, it is so, it is so. Ananda, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Complete Buddhas do not show a smile without cause or condition." Ananda, have you seen this captain showing me such respect? Venerable One, I have seen it. Ananda, this captain's roots of virtue, his generation of the mind of enlightenment, and his complete giving of the Dharma to be given, will perfectly accomplish the enlightenment to be accomplished through countless eons. Having been completely tamed by great compassion, having perfected the six perfections, possessing the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the three unmixed mindfulnesses, and great compassion, he will become a Perfectly Complete Buddha named Supreme Incense, and will appear in the world. His Dharma to be given is the joy he has manifested in his mind towards me.

This is the transformation. After the Blessed One had spoken thus, those monks rejoiced and greatly praised what the Blessed One had said. The one called "Moon" is the Buddha, the Blessed One, who is honored by kings, great ministers, wealthy people, palace attendants, merchants, ship captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, who is respected, regarded as a teacher, depicted in images, and offered to. The Buddha, the Blessed One, who is offered to and known by gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, possesses great merit and has obtained robes, food, bedding, seats, medicine, and medical supplies. Together with the monastic community of hearers, he dwells in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika in the garden of Prince Jeta. Then, in Shravasti, there lived a weaver named Moon, who was poor and extremely destitute. Whatever work he did, he only managed to earn enough food for the day, and he had nothing left over. Then he thought to himself: "I have come here from another world without accumulating any merit, and here I do not do any good deeds. Thus, from here to another world, I will have neither merit nor virtue, nor any refuge to protect me from fear and dread. I will probably have to go like this. I think I should definitely make offerings to the Blessed One with something." Then he borrowed thread from another householder, took some skeins of thread, and went to the market. The Blessed One, in the morning, having put on his lower garment and Dharma robes, took his bowl and went to Shravasti for alms. Then he saw the Buddha, the Blessed One, whose body was well adorned with the thirty-two major marks, beautified by the eighty minor marks, surrounded by a fathom of light, possessing light surpassing a thousand suns, like a moving mountain of jewels, perfect in every way. Having seen him, he felt...
