He who surpasses all, with a mind set on virtue, possesses the wisdom of the wise. Upon hearing these words, the child's father asked, 'What name should be given to the child?' The diviner asked, 'Since this child was conceived in the womb, what wondrous things have occurred?' The minister replied: 'This child's mother, previously gentle and not particularly virtuous, has become even more gentle and virtuous since conceiving this child.' She delights in praising the virtues and merits of others, dislikes mentioning their faults, and is filled with love and compassion for those afflicted by suffering. The diviner said, 'These are the merits of the child.' So, the child was named 'Non-Anger.' Thereafter, he was carefully nurtured and grew up, his strength reaching the level of a mighty giant. He could single-handedly withstand a thousand men, and could leap up and catch birds flying in the sky. His speed was such that he could keep pace with a swift horse. Therefore, people were especially fond of and loved this child. At that time, there was a Brahmin in that land, learned and wise, well-versed in the Vedas, with about five hundred disciples who constantly followed him in study. At that time, those ministers also brought the child and entrusted him to the Brahmin for instruction. The child Non-Anger was diligent in his studies, learning more in a single day than others learned in a year. Before long, he had grasped and understood everything. The Brahmin teacher also trusted him greatly, always accompanying him, and the other disciples also showed him respect. At that time, the Brahmin teacher's wife saw that the child was handsome and excelled in his studies more than others, and she became enamored of him. She held him in her thoughts, but because she was constantly surrounded by the disciples day and night, she had no opportunity to speak with him. Unable to fulfill her desire, she often felt regret in her heart. Later, a patron invited the teacher and all his disciples to be his guests, providing them with food for three months. At that time, the Brahmin teacher and his wife discussed, 'The patron has invited me and all my disciples to provide us with food for three months. Should we now arrange for one of the disciples to be assigned to some outside duties?'

He spoke to his wife, and the wife, pleased, said this to the Brahmin: 'Because the affairs of the household and many tasks must be done by someone who is knowledgeable and skilled, it is appropriate to leave the boy named 'Non-Annoyance' behind, as he is trustworthy.' The Brahmin also said to the boy named 'Non-Annoyance', 'You stay here and take care of the household affairs and meals. I am going because the benefactor has called me.' The boy named 'Non-Annoyance' also stayed behind as instructed by his teacher. At that time, after the Brahmin teacher and his students had left, the Brahmin's wife was overjoyed and meticulously adorned herself. She spoke to the boy in a seductive manner, but 'Non-Annoyance' remained steadfast and did not change his mind. Then, she developed a mind of desire and spoke truthfully, saying, 'I am attracted to you, but there has never been an opportunity before. Now that the teacher has left and you have been deliberately left behind, now is a secluded and opportune time. Join your mind with mine,' she urged. The boy named 'Non-Annoyance' said, 'I am a Brahmin, and according to the Brahmin's dharma, it is not proper to sleep with the teacher's wife. If I were to do such a thing, I would no longer be a Brahmin. I would rather die than do this.' The teacher's wife, because her hopes were not fulfilled, felt ashamed and embarrassed. Holding a grudge, she thought to slander him. When the teacher was about to return, she tore her clothes, scratched her face with her nails, covered herself with dirt, and lay on the ground without saying a word, as if she had been slapped. Then, the Brahmin teacher returned and entered the house. Seeing his wife in such a state, he asked, 'Why have you become like this?' The wife shed tears and said, 'It is no use asking.' The Brahmin teacher repeatedly asked what bad thing had happened, and the wife wept and said, 'That boy named 'Non-Annoyance' whom you always praise, after you left, he constantly tried to sleep with me. When I refused, he tore my clothes and scratched my face. Do you have such a student?' When the Brahmin heard these words, he became very angry and said to his wife, 'This person named 'Non-Annoyance', his strength is'
