好吧！我以施舍眼睛之举，愿能现证圆满菩提。如果我能现证圆满菩提，愿瞎眼的婆罗门一得到我的眼睛，就能看见东西。刚一发愿，国王取下的眼睛就被放入婆罗门的眼中。之后，立刻就能看见了。他对国王说道：国王的眼睛让我能看见了，但有了这能看见的东西，我却不需要其中一只眼睛。国王训斥道：我的两只眼睛都已施舍给你，若留下一只，就与先前所说相违背了。训斥之后，又挖出一只眼睛，拿在手中，如先前一样发愿。放入婆罗门的眼中后，婆罗门的两只眼睛都能看见东西了。那时，天地都震动了。诸神的宫殿也都摇晃倾斜，众神都感到惊奇，见到菩萨施舍眼睛，便降临到上方的天空中，献上天界的鲜花和香的供养，赞叹道：善哉！善哉！帝释天也来到那里，对菩萨说道：如此这般极其难行的苦行，你想要什么样的异熟果报呢？菩萨说道：我不是想要魔王、梵天、帝释天、四大天王或转轮圣王等等，三界的安乐。而是要以这善根现证菩提，为了将一切众生安置于寂灭的安乐之中。帝释天说道：如此这般挖出眼睛是痛苦的，难道没有后悔或愤怒之心吗？国王说道：没有后悔，也没有丝毫愤怒。帝释天说道：我看你的两只眼睛都在流血，脸色也在变化，却说没有后悔，这实在难以置信。国王说道：如果我施舍眼睛没有后悔，并且将获得无上菩提是真实的，那么以此真实语，愿我的两只眼睛恢复如初。刚一说完，两只眼睛比以前更加明亮。那时，天人和所有人都非常……

Very well! By this act of giving my eyes, may I realize perfect enlightenment. If I realize perfect enlightenment, may the blind Brahmin see as soon as he receives my eyes. As soon as he made the aspiration, the king's eyes were taken and placed in the Brahmin's eyes. Then, he was able to see immediately. He said to the king, "I can see with the king's eyes, but with this sight, I do not need one of them." The king rebuked him, "I have given you both of my eyes, so if you leave one, it contradicts what was said before." After rebuking him, he plucked out one eye and, holding it in his hand, made the aspiration as before. He placed it in the Brahmin's eye, and the Brahmin was able to see with both eyes. At that time, the whole earth and sky shook. All the palaces of the gods also trembled and swayed. The gods were amazed and, seeing that the Bodhisattva had given his eyes, they descended to the sky above and made offerings of divine flowers and incense, praising him, saying, "Well done! Well done!" Indra also came there and said to the Bodhisattva, "What kind of ripening result do you desire from this extremely difficult practice?" The Bodhisattva said, "I do not desire the happiness of the three realms, such as the king of demons, Brahma, Indra, the Four Great Kings, or a wheel-turning monarch. But with this merit, I will realize enlightenment and place all sentient beings in the bliss of nirvana." Indra said, "Since plucking out your eyes is painful, did you not have any regret or anger?" The king said, "There is no regret, nor any trace of anger." Indra said, "I see blood flowing from both of your eyes and your complexion changing, yet you say you have no regret, which is hard to believe." The king said, "If it is true that I have no regret in giving my eyes and that I will attain unsurpassed enlightenment, then by this truth, may my two eyes be restored as before." 于是（他）非常高兴和满意。然后国王告诫婆罗门说：我施舍了眼睛，你也能看见了。当（我）成佛时，也会施舍你法眼。这些珍宝你也拿走，回去吧。婆罗门得到眼睛和珍宝后，回到了自己的国家。那位国王亲自迎接，刚一见面就问：得到眼睛了吗？婆罗门说：得到了眼睛，我也因此能看见了。国王说：那么，（你的）寿命延长了吗？（婆罗门）说：现在诸神降临到那里，祈愿后，两只眼睛比以前更明亮了。 国王波拉达瓦听到这样的话后，昏倒在地，心都碎了，寿命也终结了。阿难陀，那时，那位名叫施眼国王的就是现在的我。波拉达瓦就是提婆达多。那个乞讨眼睛的婆罗门就是现在这位已获得阿罗汉果位的盲人婆罗门。以前施舍了眼睛，直到现在也施舍了智慧之眼。为了你，我在一切轮回中都精进修行，最终证得了圆满正觉。你也应努力修行解脱之道。世尊如此开示后，许多眷属中，有些人证得了入流果，有些证得了一来果，有些证得了不还果，有些证得了阿罗汉果。有些人发起了无上菩提心。阿难陀和许多眷属都随喜赞叹世尊所说，感到非常高兴。《施眼国王品》第三十五（完）。 第三十六品：不恼害指鬘品 如是我闻。一时，世尊在舍卫城，胜林给孤独园中。当时，胜光王的朝廷中，有一位大臣，博学多闻，聪明睿智，家财万贯。他的妻子怀孕后，生下了一个相貌堂堂、容貌端庄、举世无双的男孩。召来相士为孩子看相，相士面露喜色地说：这个孩子具有福德之相。

When (I) become a Buddha, I will also give you the Dharma eye. Take these jewels and go back. After the Brahmin received the eyes and jewels, he returned to his country. That king personally greeted him and asked as soon as they met: Did you get your eyes? The Brahmin said: I got my eyes, and I can see like this because of it. The king said: Then, has (your) life been extended? (The Brahmin) said: Now the gods have come there, and after praying, both eyes are brighter than before. After hearing these words, King Paladava fainted to the ground, his heart was broken, and his life came to an end. Ananda, at that time, the king named Eye-giver was me now. Paladava was Devadatta. The Brahmin who begged for eyes is now this blind Brahmin who has attained the Arhatship. He gave eyes before, and until now he has given the eye of wisdom. For your sake, I have practiced diligently in all cycles of rebirth, and finally attained perfect enlightenment. You should also strive to practice the path of liberation. After the Blessed One gave such teachings, among the many attendants, some attained the Stream-entry fruit, some attained the Once-returner fruit, some attained the Non-returner fruit, and some attained the Arhatship. Some aroused the supreme Bodhicitta. Ananda and many attendants rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One said, and felt very happy. The Thirty-fifth Chapter, The King Eye-giver (completed). Thirty-sixth Chapter: The Chapter of Angulimala Who Does Not Harm Thus I have heard. At one time, the Blessed One was in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. At that time, in the court of King Prasenajit, there was a minister who was learned, intelligent, wise, and wealthy. His wife became pregnant and gave birth to a boy who was dignified in appearance, handsome in appearance, and unparalleled in the world. He summoned a fortune-teller to examine the child, and the fortune-teller said with a happy expression: This child has the marks of merit.
