I possess hundreds of thousands of riches. Speaking with the voice of Brahma, one is endowed with great merit and authority, and if one remains at home, one becomes a Chakravartin king. If one renounces, one will not be harmed by demons and will eventually attain enlightenment. At that time, that Brahmin said to the people, "I am very skilled in language, and if I am a truly enlightened Buddha, then those of the lineage possessing the voice of Brahma will also lead me to go with them." They also led that blind Brahmin, and as they went along, when they came near that direction, having heard the voice spoken by the Buddha, the blind man rejoiced and was delighted, and faith arose. His two eyes opened naturally, and he saw the Buddha's body, golden in color, adorned with the thirty-two marks, as bright as the light of the sun. He bowed his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, and having generated immeasurable joy, the Bhagavan taught the Dharma, and by generating joy, twenty trillion sins and non-virtuous deeds were exhausted, and he obtained the fruit of stream-entry, and having become endowed with the eye of wisdom, he requested to renounce in the teachings. Then, the Bhagavan said, "Welcome," and bestowed upon him the status of a Bhikshu, and by teaching the Dharma according to his capacity, he became an Arhat. Many in the assembly became doubtful, and the venerable Ananda rose from his seat, folded his palms, and said to the Bhagavan, "Bhagavan, you perform deeds for the benefit of many beings, and among all beings, you are especially compassionate towards this blind Brahmin. The Brahmin has obtained not only the eye of flesh but also the eye of wisdom." The Bhagavan said to Ananda, "I have not only given this blind Brahmin eyes at this time, but I have also given them in the past." Ananda asked, "Bhagavan, please explain in detail how you bestowed eyes in the past." The Bhagavan said, "In the past, beyond immeasurable, countless, inconceivable eons, in this Jambudvipa, there was a place called Pukalada, and there was a king named Mig-ye-che (Open-Eye). That king could see without obstruction through rocks and walls, up to forty yojanas.

He was named "Migjé (ིག་འབྱེད་)" and ruled over all eighty-four thousand small kingdoms of Jambudvipa. That king had consorts and twenty thousand palaces, as well as five hundred princes. The regent was named "Tsultrim Zangpo (ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་བཟང་པོ་)." That king ruled the country according to the Dharma, treating all sentient beings like his only child. The wind and rain were timely, the crops were good, and everyone was happy. Then, that king thought to himself in a secluded place: "By the merit of my previous life, I have become a human king, possessing precious jewels and great wealth, and listening to the opinions of all. It is like soft grass lying down in one direction when blown by the wind. If I do not accumulate the fruits of the next life in this life, I will suffer. For example, if all farmers plow diligently in the spring, they will have a bountiful harvest in the autumn. If I do not sow the seeds of spring in this life, I will not be able to reap the harvest of autumn in the next life. Therefore, I should not be lazy now, but should sow seeds widely in the field of merit." Thinking this, he said to his ministers: "Take out all my treasures and pile them up at the city gates, streets, and places where people gather, and give them to the many people. Order the eighty-four thousand small kingdoms to also give away all their storehouses as they wish." Then, he raised the golden banner and rang the great bell, proclaiming: "All the monks, Brahmins, poor people, old people, and sick people of Jambudvipa, gather here! Whatever you desire, I will give it to you as you wish." At that time, all the people were happy that the king was acting according to the Dharma, praising and proclaiming his virtues. Among the remote small kingdoms, there was one named Dawa Né (ད་བར་ནེ་) that did not listen to the king's orders and ruled in an unlawful manner. In that small kingdom, there was a wise and intelligent minister named Lodara (ལོ་ད་ར་). The minister said to the king: "O King, you are narrow-minded and cruel, not considering the past and future, and you will regret it later. King Migjé is very compassionate."
