After that, the old woman happily prepared wood and other utensils for cooking meat. When those people were slaughtering the cow there, the cow knew that it was going to be slaughtered, and it made a vow: 'Because you are killing me now, even if you obtain the result in the future, I will not let you go, you must be killed.' As soon as the vow was made, the cow was slaughtered by the people, some cooked it, some cut it and ate it. The old woman was also full of beef and very happy, saying: 'Such a guest has come before, but there has never been such a benefit as today.' At that time, that cow was King Rabsel Gyal. At that time, those who stole the cow were the thirty-two sons of the goddess of the border. At that time, that old woman, the householder, was not their mother, but because of the ripened result, she was always killed for five hundred lifetimes. At that time, that old woman, just because of rejoicing and happiness, always became their mother, and was greatly grieved by such sorrow, now this has met me and obtained the result.' Venerable Ānanda again folded his hands and asked the Blessed One: 'What kind of meritorious deeds did those people do to be born into noble and high families, to be wealthy, brave and capable?' The Blessed One said: 'In the past, when the Buddha Kāśyapa appeared in the world, there was an old woman who had great faith in the Three Jewels. She bought a lot of incense, mixed it with ghee, and always applied it to the stupa. On a road, thirty-two people came there and helped the old woman to apply the stupa. The old woman said to those thirty-two people: 'By the merit of helping me to apply the stupa, wherever you are reborn, you will have a beautiful appearance and great strength.' They also happily did the work of applying the stupa, and said: 'We are able to do these meritorious deeds because of this old woman. Wherever we are reborn, we will be born into noble, wealthy and powerful families and possess wealth.'

Possessing... and may this old woman always be our mother, and may we be her sons, and may we always be inseparable from the Buddha and hearing the Dharma, and may we quickly attain the fruit. The old woman also said, "May it be so." Therefore, for five hundred lifetimes, they became noble and powerful lineages. At that time, that old woman was not the mother of these children now. At that time, those thirty-two people were these children. At that time, the soldiers of the army, having heard the words of the Buddha, all their minds of hatred were calmed, and they said, "Even the great king is not at fault, these people are the ripening of previous karma, just because they killed a cow, they have become like this. This King Radiant Light is our lord, why do we harbor resentment towards him and harm him?" Having said this, they abandoned their weapons and came before the king to confess their sins, and the king did not pursue their guilt. At that time, the Blessed One told this story of the past to these four assemblies, and extensively explained the sacred Dharma. He also explained that virtuous deeds should be diligently done, and non-virtuous deeds should not be done. He also extensively explained the Four Noble Truths, and many listeners, having heard them, all attained the fruit, were satisfied with the words of the Blessed One, and were very happy. The chapter of the seven sons of Minister Rida, the twenty-third chapter is completed. Twenty-fourth chapter, the chapter of Great Kapina. Volume Seven, Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was in Shravasti, Prince Victorious Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. At that time, the king of that place was called King Radiant Light. To the south of there, there was a place called Golden Land, and the king was called Kapina. The son of that king was called Great Kapina. After the father of that king passed away, the son succeeded to the throne, and he was naturally kind, intelligent, brave, and possessed great power. He had thirty-six thousand troops, and wherever those troops went

I am like a great wind, there is nothing that cannot be defeated. I have not conquered the king of the central region. Later, some merchants went to the land of gold and offered four pieces of soft and fine cloth to that king. The king accepted them and asked the merchant: Where did such fine wealth come from? The merchant replied: This is from the central region. The king said: What is meant by the central region? What is the name of the central region? The merchant replied: The name of the central region is also called the King's Capital, also called Shravasti, and there are many other place names. The king said: Why don't those kings come to pay homage and tribute to me? The merchant replied: Those kings each hold their own national affairs, so they do not come here. The king thought: My power and blessing can subdue everything under the sky, why don't these kings come to pay homage and tribute to me? Now I will use my power and blessing to subdue them. So he said to the merchant: Among the kings of the central region, which king is the greatest? The merchant said: The king of Shravasti is the greatest. After that, that king sent a messenger to Shravasti, conveying this message to King Light: My power and blessing can rule everything in Jambudvipa, why don't you even send a messenger? Now I am sending a messenger to you again. When you hear my name while sleeping, you should sit up. When you hear it while sitting, you should stand up. When you hear it while eating, you should spit it out without swallowing. When you hear it while bathing, you should tie your hair back up. When you hear it while staying, you should run. Now come here to meet me within seven days! If you don't do this, I will send troops to destroy your country. King Light, hearing these words, was unhappy and frightened, and went to where the Bhagavan was and reported it in detail as it was. The Bhagavan instructed: The king can also say to the messenger: Among the kings, I am not the greatest, there are kings greater than me.
