The crown prince was named Tsultrim Sangpo. The palace where the king resided was called Tshewa Sangpo, and that palace was approximately four hundred yojanas wide, made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. Inside the pleasure garden, there were four rows of trees made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. Some had branches of gold and leaves of silver; some had branches of silver and leaves of gold; some had branches of beryl and leaves of crystal; some had branches of crystal and leaves of beryl. The precious ponds were also made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal, and the bottom of the ponds was covered with sand of four kinds of precious stones. In the vicinity of the king's palace, for a distance of forty yojanas, it was filled with heaps of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. The people living in that land were happy and prosperous, with good harvests and abundant resources, possessing countless precious jewels. At that time, those residing in the king's palace always had this thought: Those who are powerful and great in the world are respected by all. As soon as they thought this, the five desirable enjoyments were fulfilled as they wished. Obtaining such excellent fruits was also due to accumulating merit in the past. For example, farmers who sow many seeds in spring hope to harvest a lot in autumn. I am the same; because I accumulated merit in the past, I have now achieved this. If I do not sow seeds now, there will be no hope in the future. Thinking this, he said to the ministers: Now, in order to give away my jewels and all enjoyments, pile them up at the city gates and in the center of the marketplace, and give them to sentient beings as they wish. Furthermore, there are eighty-four thousand small kingdoms, and he ordered that everything in the treasuries be given to the masses. After proclaiming this, he raised a golden banner and beat a golden drum, spreading the sound in all directions, making it widely heard and known to all. At that time, the ascetics, Brahmins, the poor, the helpless, the elderly, and those enjoying

Through the king's kindness, all the mules gathered like clouds. Those who wanted clothes were given clothes, those who wanted food were given food, those who wanted gold, silver, and precious jewels were given gold, silver, and precious jewels. For the sick, medicine and whatever else they desired were given as they wished. At that time, all beings dwelling in Jambudvipa sang and danced with joy and happiness due to the king's kindness, praising him with verses. The king's good name spread in all directions, and no one disobeyed his commands. At that time, in the border region of the country, there was a small king named Bima Sena, who became jealous of King Moonlight and could not sleep peacefully. Because he could not sleep, he thought to himself: "If I do not eliminate King Moonlight, my fame will not become prominent. I will summon all the wanderers residing in my country and have them work for me." Thinking this, he summoned all the wanderers residing in his country, prepared food with a hundred flavors, and entertained them in various ways, offering them offerings for three months. Then, he said to the wanderers: "I am overwhelmed by sorrow and am uneasy day and night. You are practitioners of Dharma and are worthy of offerings. Please think of a way to eliminate my sorrow." The Brahmins said: "King, why are you sorrowful? Please tell us. We will do our best to ensure that you are no longer sorrowful." The king said: "King Moonlight's virtues are widely known, and everyone respects him. Only my virtues are not known. If I could eliminate that king, I would be very happy. Do you have any way? Please tell me." After hearing such a command, the Brahmins said to each other: "This King Moonlight is full of compassion, his kindness extends to all beings, and for the poor, he is like a parent. Even if we face death, no one can harm him." Saying this, they left separately, not even considering their livelihood. King Bima Sena, after hearing these words, became even more displeased and rebuked them, saying:

Whoever comes to me with the head of King Moonlight, I will give him half of my kingdom and my daughter as his wife. At that time, a Brahmin named Leu-te-tsa heard this on a mountain cliff. He came to where the king was and was very happy, saying, "I can fulfill the king's wishes." The king said, "If you can do that, when will you leave?" The Brahmin said, "Please give me provisions for the journey, and I will arrive in seven days." The Brahmin recited a mantra to protect his body for seven days, bowed to the king, and set off on his journey. At that time, various inauspicious signs appeared in the land of King Moonlight: the earth cracked, lightning flashed, stars fell, day and night were reversed. The land was dim, thunder roared, hail fell, lightning struck, and many birds cried out in the sky and fell from the sky. Tigers, leopards, wolves, beasts of prey, and deer ran and jumped around, making unpleasant noises. The eighty-four thousand petty kings dreamed that the great king's golden banner was broken and the golden drum was torn. The minister Great Moon dreamed that a hungry ghost stole the king's golden crown. Everyone was overwhelmed with grief to the point of being unbearable. At that time, the city gate guardian deity knew that the Brahmin was coming to ask for the king's head, so he intoxicated him and made him confused, preventing him from entering through the city gate. The Brahmin circled the city many times but could not enter. Then, the gods of the Pure Abode also knew that if King Moonlight gave his head in charity, he would perfect the perfection of generosity. So, they warned the king in a dream, saying, "Great King, in order to give charity without going against the wishes of all, the beggar has now come to the city gate but cannot enter." Thus, they warned the king. The king woke up and was very surprised, and said to the minister Great Moon, "Go to the city gate."
