Many people saw it, and all the people gained great benefit from listening to the Dharma. Those monks initially had a dog. One day, the dog, as usual, pricked up its ears to listen to the Dharma, and after death, was reborn in the sixth heaven, sitting on the same mat with the demon. The King of Demons thought: This deva has great merit, and can sit with me, I should check where he was reborn from. When he found out that it was reborn from a dog, he thought: The monks will make me feel ashamed and blame me. When he saw the monk entering Samadhi from afar, he placed a precious crown on the monk's head. When the monk came out of Samadhi and realized that there was a crown on his head, he wondered who had put it there? When he found out that it was put by the demon, he used his supernatural power to summon the demon, and transformed a dog's corpse into a headdress. He said to the demon: In return for giving me the crown, I will give you a necklace, please accept it. The demon accepted it, put on the necklace and left. After returning to his residence, he checked, He found that the necklace on his head was a dog's corpse, and he was disgusted and wanted to throw it away. But he could not throw it away even with all his strength. Then he went to Indra and said: Please throw away this unclean thing. Indra said: Whoever did it can only be thrown away by that person, I have no power to throw it away. The demon said to all the gods and the King of Brahma: Please throw away my unclean thing. They said the same thing as before, we have no power to throw it away.

地说道：既然不能做，就回到比丘的面前，说了这样的话：‘佛世尊确实具有伟大的功德，但是慈悲的心并没有完全倾向于一方。你们这些声闻是可怕的。’为什么明显呢？我以前率领八十万夜叉军队等，围绕着菩萨，想要使菩萨从菩提中退转，但是菩萨却生起慈悲心，不把我当成敌人。我只是开了一个小小的玩笑，却受到了这样的报复。优波毱多说：‘你说的确实是真的，如果我和佛相比，百倍千倍也无法相比，就像须弥山和芥子相比，或者大海和牛蹄印里的水相比，或者狮子王和狐狸相比一样，大小的差别是无法产生的。我生于恶世的末期，没有见到如来，听说你的神变能够化现成佛的身相，请你显现给我看一看吧。’魔说：‘我可以化现成那样，但是你不要向我顶礼。’说：‘我不顶礼。’然后魔王也化现成佛的身相，巨大的身躯有十六肘高，是金色的，具有三十二相和八十随形好，光芒闪耀，非常明亮，比日月还要更加殊胜。优波毱多非常高兴，正要顶礼的时候，魔王又变回了魔的身躯，对优波毱多说：‘比丘，你不是说不顶礼吗？为什么又要顶礼呢？’优波毱多说：‘我顶礼的是佛，不是顶礼你。’魔王说：‘比丘，为了怜悯我，不要让这具狗尸消失。’优波毱多说：‘你发起慈悲心，做一切众生的救护者，狗尸就会变成珍宝串。如果生起不善的罪恶之心，就不会从狗尸变成其他的东西。’这样说完之后。

Upagupta said: 'What you say is true, if I am compared to the Buddha, it cannot be compared even a hundred or a thousand times, just as Mount Sumeru is compared to a mustard seed, or the great ocean is compared to the water in a cow's hoof print, or the king of lions is compared to a fox, the difference in size cannot be created. I was born at the end of a bad time, and I have not seen the Tathagata, but I have heard that your magical power can transform into the body of the Buddha, please show it to me so that I can see it.' The demon said: 'I can transform into that, but you must not prostrate to me.' He said: 'I will not prostrate.' Then the king of demons also transformed into the body of the Buddha, a huge body sixteen cubits high, golden in color, adorned with the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks, the light shining brightly, even more radiant than the sun and moon. Upagupta was very happy and was about to prostrate, but the king of demons transformed back into the body of a demon and said to Upagupta: 'Monk, didn't you say you wouldn't prostrate? Why are you prostrating?' Upagupta said: 'I am prostrating to the Buddha, not to you.' The king of demons said: 'Monk, for the sake of compassion for me, do not let this dog corpse disappear.' Upagupta said: 'If you generate a compassionate heart and become the protector of all sentient beings, the dog corpse will turn into a string of jewels. If you generate an unwholesome, sinful mind, it will not turn into anything other than a dog corpse.' After saying this.
