He invited them for three months and offered them meals. Among them, a monk named Holy Friend vowed to be the patron of lighting lamps for three months. He went to villages, towns, and cities every day, begging merchants, householders, and many people for butter, oil, lamp oil, and essence. At that time, the king had a daughter named Thubpa (Capable), who saw the monk going to villages every day from the top of the roof, and felt distressed. She felt compassion for him and sent someone to ask, "Venerable, what are you doing? Why are you always so troubled?" The monk replied, "I have vowed to offer lamps to the Buddha and the Sangha for three months. Therefore, I go to villages and beg the virtuous men and women for butter, oil, the essence of lamp oil, and the implements for setting up lamps." When he conveyed the message to the princess, she was very happy and said to the monk Holy Friend, "From now on, you don't have to go around like that all the time. I will prepare the implements for lighting lamps. Please come!" The monk said, "Let it be so!" From then on, she always prepared lamp oil, oil, and the implements for lighting lamps, and sent them to the temple. The monk Holy Friend offered lamps every day in this way, generating a vast mind to benefit all beings. The Blessed One prophesied that, "In the future, after countless eons, you will attain enlightenment and your name will be Dipamkara (Light-Maker)." And he will be endowed with the thirty-two marks. The king's daughter Thubpa (Capable) heard that the Blessed One had prophesied about the monk Holy Friend and thought, "The lamps offered to the Buddha were prepared by me, and that monk only made a slight request and received a prophecy, but I have not received a prophecy." So she went to where the Blessed One was and truthfully reported the matter. 又，对名为释迦牟尼者，授记说具有十种名号。如是，国王的女儿也从佛陀那里听闻授记后，生起极大欢喜，以头顶礼拜佛陀的足，祈请出家。世尊也允许其出家，无有间断地精进修行。世尊对阿难说：‘那时那刻，那位圣者的善知识是过去已逝的燃灯佛。国王的女儿释迦牟尼就是现在的我，先前供奉灯火，于无数劫中在天人和人间的世间享受福报，容貌也比其他人更加殊胜美好，如今现证菩提后，也具有众多的灯火。’世尊如是说后，众多眷属中，有的获得了初果乃至四果。有的在独觉果位中种下善根。有的发起了无上菩提心。具寿阿难陀和众多眷属对世尊所说心生欢喜，无比欣悦。《女儿亲爱品》第三十七品完毕。 第三十八品，《婆悉吒品》。 如是我闻，一时，世尊住在王舍城（今印度比哈尔邦拉杰吉尔）鹫峰山。当时，那个地方有一位名叫尸利聚的居士，极其富有，拥有无尽的受用，七宝充满仓库。他娶了同种姓的女子为妻。后来，妻子怀有身孕。足月后，生下一个端庄美丽的男童，世间无与伦比。父母非常疼爱他，于是请来相师看相。相师说：‘这个孩子具有福德之相，家族也会因此兴盛。’孩子的父母更加高兴，对相师说：‘请给我的儿子取个名字吧。’相师问道：‘这个孩子出生后，有什么征兆或奇特的事情发生吗？’回答说：‘没有其他的事情，只是孩子的母亲原本不善言辞，自从有了这个孩子之后，变得善于言辞了。’

Furthermore, it was prophesied that the one named Shakyamuni would possess ten titles. Likewise, the king's daughter, having heard the prophecy from the Buddha, generated great joy. She bowed her head at the feet of the Buddha and requested to be ordained. The Blessed One granted her ordination, and she diligently practiced without interruption. The Blessed One spoke to Ananda, saying, 'At that time, that noble spiritual friend was the Buddha Dipamkara of the past. The king's daughter, Shakyamuni, is now me. Having offered lamps in the past, I experienced merit in the realms of gods and humans for countless eons. My form was also superior and more beautiful than others. Now, having attained enlightenment, I am also endowed with many lamps.' After the Blessed One spoke thus, among the many attendants, some attained from the first fruit to the fourth fruit. Some planted roots of virtue in the state of a solitary buddha. Some generated the mind of unsurpassed enlightenment. The venerable Ananda and the many attendants rejoiced in what the Blessed One had said and were exceedingly delighted. The Thirty-seventh Chapter, 'The Chapter on the Beloved Daughter,' is complete. Chapter Thirty-eight, 'The Chapter on Vashistha.' Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar, India) on Vulture Peak Mountain. At that time, in that country, there was a householder named Shiri Jati, who was extremely wealthy and possessed abundant resources, with his storehouses filled with the seven precious jewels. He took a wife from the same lineage. Later, his wife became pregnant. After the months were complete, she gave birth to a beautiful and handsome boy, unparalleled in the world. The parents loved him dearly and summoned a diviner to examine his signs. The diviner said, 'This child possesses the signs of merit, and the family will prosper because of him.' The child's parents were even more delighted and said to the diviner, 'Please give my son a name.' The diviner asked, 'Since the birth of this child, what signs or wonders have occurred?' They replied, 'Nothing else, but the child's mother, who was previously not skilled in speech, has become skilled in speech since the child's birth.'
