In that place, there was a woman named 'Offering Joy,' who was poor and relied on begging for a living. That woman saw the king, ministers, and many people making offerings to the Buddha and the Sangha, and thought: What sins have I committed in the past that I am so poor and born into a low caste? Now, even though I have encountered the field of merit, I have no seeds. She was very depressed and felt regret. One day, she begged all day and only got one copper coin. She took that one copper coin and went to the house of a butter seller to buy some butter. The owner of the butter shop said: Buying butter with one copper coin is too little, what are you going to do? Offering Joy also told the truth. The owner of the butter shop was kind and gave her extra butter. Offering Joy got the butter and was very happy. She went to the temple and offered it to the Bhagavan. She lit a butter lamp in front of the Buddha and made this aspiration: I am poor now, and I offer this small butter lamp to the Buddha. With this merit, may I have the lamp of wisdom in the future and dispel the darkness of all sentient beings. After making the aspiration, she returned to her residence. That night, the other butter lamps went out, but only Offering Joy's butter lamp burned until dawn. At that time, it was Dagalya's turn to manage the time. When he went to collect the butter lamp containers in the morning, he saw that only one butter lamp was particularly bright, and the butter and wick had not diminished, as if it had just been lit. He thought: Lighting a lamp during the day is useless, let's put it out. He tried to put it out with his hand, but it didn't go out. Then he tried to put it out with a rag, but it didn't go out, it didn't diminish. Then he tried to put it out with clothes, but it didn't go out either. The Bhagavan saw this and said to Dagalya: You want to put out this lamp, but you cannot put it out. You, a Shravaka, cannot shake or extinguish it either. Even if you blow the water of the four great oceans with a hurricane, it will not be extinguished.

It became. Therefore, in order to make this lamp have great benefit for all people, it was offered with great aspiration. After the Blessed One spoke these words, the attendant Joyful One also came before the Blessed One, and bowed her head to his feet. At that time, the Blessed One prophesied: In the future, after two kalpas have passed, you will attain perfect enlightenment, and your name will be Light of the Lamp, possessing the ten powers. At that time, the attendant Joyful One, having heard the prophecy of the Blessed One, was overjoyed, knelt on both knees, and requested to be ordained. The Blessed One also granted her ordination. The venerable Ananda and the son of Dagal saw the poor woman receive the prophecy and be ordained, and knelt on both knees, folded their palms, and entreated the Blessed One, saying: What deeds did this attendant Joyful One commit in the past, that she was so poor for so long, and could not even find a livelihood? And what did she do, that she could meet the Blessed One, and make offerings to the fourfold retinue? The Blessed One said to Ananda: In the past, the Buddha Light Protector descended into the world. At that time, the wife of a householder invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks. Before that, a poor woman had invited them, and allowed them to go. That poor woman was also one who would not turn back once. At that time, the wife of the householder, because she was powerful and wealthy, and of noble birth, scornfully ridiculed the poor woman's previous invitation, saying: Blessed One, why do you not go to the place I invited you to first, but go to the place invited by a beggar? She spoke evil words, and scorned the noble one, therefore, for five hundred lifetimes she was poor, and born into a caste that depended on begging for a living. Later, because she had faith in the Buddha and the Sangha on that day and made offerings, she was happy, so now she meets the Buddha, is ordained, and receives a prophecy. At that time, many of the retinue were very happy with what the Buddha said. At that time, the king, ministers, and many people, because the poor woman had offered to the Sang

Having heard that offering butter lamps would lead to the prediction of Buddhahood, everyone respectfully made offerings, fully providing the four supreme necessities. At that time, all the boys, good girls, and bad girls of that place, mixed fragrant butter lamps and offered them to the Bhagavan in the King's Victory Garden. Many people offering butter lamps completely filled the King's Victory Garden with lights. From all four directions, like stars shining in the sky, they offered them day and night continuously for seven days. At that time, Ananda was very happy and amazed, praising, 'The Bhagavan possesses so many merits!' Then, he said to the Bhagavan, 'Bhagavan, what kind of deeds did you do in the past to possess such immeasurable butter lamps?' The Bhagavan said to Ananda, 'In the past, in this Jambudvipa, there was a king named Pasili who ruled over eighty-four thousand small kingdoms.' The king's queen gave birth to a son, whose body color was like gold, possessing the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks, and on his head was a jewel with a bright and dazzling color. Soothsayers were invited to determine good and bad omens and to name him. When the soothsayers saw him, they were amazed by the sign, raised their hands, and said, 'Very good!' and said, 'This prince is unparalleled in the world, among gods and humans. If he stays at home, he will become a Chakravartin king. If he renounces, he will attain perfect enlightenment.' The soothsayers said to the king, 'What wonderful and amazing signs appeared when this prince was first born?' The king replied, 'When this prince was born, there was a very bright jewel on the top of his head.' So, they named the prince Jewel Crest. Later, he grew up and renounced, diligently practiced Bodhi, attained perfect Buddhahood, and benefited countless beings. At that time, the king, his father, together with the Buddha and the Sangha of monks
