If indeed there are different realms and multiple realms, then these beings cling to whatever realm they hold, and cling to it, and then act accordingly. They think, "This is true, and the others are foolish." If they did not think so, then why would these worlds have different realms and multiple realms? Therefore, these beings cling to whatever realm they hold, and cling to it, and then act accordingly. They think, "This is true, and the others are foolish." The Lord of the Gods, Indra, asked, "Venerable one, it is indeed so. It is indeed so, because not all beings have the same desires, the same wishes, the same faith, and the same thoughts. Venerable one, these worlds indeed have different realms and multiple realms. They cling to whatever realm they hold, and cling to it, and then act accordingly. They think, "This is true, and the others are foolish." I have understood the meaning of what the Blessed One has said, and I have transcended doubt and am free from uncertainty." Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, having heard the prophecy from the Blessed One, praised and rejoiced in the Blessed One's teachings, and made a further request to the Blessed One, "Venerable one, are all ascetics and Brahmins accomplished in the ultimate yoga, completely free from defilements, and completely perfected in the practice of celibacy?" The Blessed One replied, "Kaushika, not all ascetics and Brahmins are accomplished in the ultimate yoga, completely free from defilements, and completely perfected in the practice of celibacy. Whichever ascetic or Brahmin, whose existence is completely extinguished in the unsurpassed liberation, and whose mind is completely liberated, they are accomplished in the ultimate yoga, completely free from defilements, and completely perfected in the practice of celibacy." The Lord of the Gods, Indra, asked, "Venerable one, it is indeed so. It is indeed so, because all ascetics and Brahmins are accomplished in the ultimate yoga.

Attaining cessation, being eternally free from defilement, and the ultimate of eternal celibacy are not ultimate. Whichever renunciant or Brahmin, from the unsurpassed liberation, those who have completely exhausted existence and whose minds are completely liberated are the ultimate of eternity, eternally free from defilement, and the perfection of eternal celibacy. I have understood the meaning spoken by the Blessed One, and having understood the Dharma, having transcended doubt, being free from hesitation, having extracted the poisonous arrow, for the sake of having no disappointment at all, I will not again generate in my mind the thought, "Who am I?" Venerable one, from what I have not attained regarding the special realization of asking for prophecy, now I have experienced it for a long time. Therefore, relying on the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, having spoken, the poisonous arrow of doubt and duality has been extracted from its root. The Blessed One said: Kauśika, do you remember ever asking other renunciants and Brahmins such questions before? The Lord of the Gods, Indra, replied: Venerable one, I remember. Once, the thirty-three gods gathered and sat in the Good Dharma Hall, seeking the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One. But they did not find the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, so they rose from their seats and departed separately. Among those who departed, the one known as the Great God died and vanished from his place. Venerable one, when the one known as the Great God died from his place, I also became frightened and uneasy, thinking that I too would not die from this place. Therefore, I lived alone in a solitary place, and whatever I saw, I thought they were the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, and I went to them. They asked me, "Who are you?" I told them, "I am Indra, the Lord of the Gods." They were delighted.

Being content and exclaiming, "I have seen Indra!" and specifically declaring it, they ask me, but I will not ask them. They seek refuge in me, but I will not give them refuge. From now on, I will be a disciple of the Blessed One, taking refuge in the Blessed One. There is no end to realization, and my mind is full of doubt. In order to find the Tathagata, I wandered around for a long time. If I, a blind person, could attend and serve the Fully Enlightened One, how should I please him? I asked them about the path and practice, but they did not understand either. Whatever I slightly desired, through thinking, analyzing, and the coming and going of the mind, the mind was understood by the Buddha's mind, and consciousness was also recognized by consciousness. Today, the Blessed One, the Arhat, declared and prophesied all of this. You are the Buddha teacher, the Victorious One, you have also conquered the Mara. You have cut off the habitual tendencies, transcended samsara, and liberated beings. You are the Buddha in the world, there is no one greater than you. In the world including the gods, there is no one who can match you. Great hero, I prostrate to you! Supreme being, I pay homage to you! You can remove the pain of existence, son of the sun, I prostrate to you! The Blessed One said: Kauśika (कौशिक, kauśika, Kauśika), do you remember ever experiencing such a thing as obtaining truth and inner happiness? Indra replied: I remember obtaining inner happiness, but I do not remember obtaining truth. Venerable one, once, when the gods and asuras were at war, the gods were victorious and the asuras were defeated. I thought to myself: Now I will go to the city of the gods, and the enjoyments of the gods and the enjoyments of the asuras, if they could be gathered together, I would happily enjoy them. That thought was obtaining inner happiness, it was the end of a long battle.
