From... Having abandoned all defilements, may he realize the state of Arhat. Therefore, monks, I am exactly the same as the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector (a past Buddha), the same in strength, the same in deeds, and the same in methods. Having attained this, he has pleased me and has not displeased me. Moreover, having renounced the world in my own teachings, he has abandoned all defilements and realized the state of Arhat. The second Brahmin is: The story begins when he was staying in Shravasti. At that time, there was a Brahmin living in Shravasti who, due to circumstances, took a wife. He played and rejoiced with her, and was very happy. Later, his wife became pregnant, and when she reached nine or ten months, she gave birth to a son. They named him according to his lineage and raised him with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of ghee. When he grew up, he was taught to read. According to the Brahmin customs, they would sweep during the day on the eighth and fifteenth days of the month. Sometimes they would walk like a city, sometimes like a heretic, or like a god, or with a wooden stick. Then, one day, when it was time for the Brahmin boy to sweep, he went to Prince Jeta's Grove. At that time, the Blessed One was sitting among hundreds of thousands of attendants, teaching the Dharma. The Brahmin boy saw the Buddha, the Blessed One, from afar. Having seen him, he became very happy with the Blessed One. Having become happy, he went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, he bowed to the feet of the Blessed One with his head, and sat before him to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One taught him the Dharma that was appropriate to his disposition, and established him in refuge and the precepts. Then, he knew that the Blessed One's talk was over, and he praised and rejoiced in what the Blessed One had said, bowed to the feet of the Blessed One with his head, and then departed from the Blessed One. Then, one day, the Brahmin boy began to make offerings, and the Brahmin boy, sitting in the place of offering, thought:

If the Bhagavan were to come to this place of sacrifice, partake of the offerings, and if the Bhagavan were to sit at the head of the assembly, then the place of sacrifice would become beautiful, he thought. Inviting the Bhagavan, 'Alas, Bhagavan, may you partake of this place of sacrifice and come!' he thought. Then, as soon as that Brahmin boy had this thought, the Bhagavan disappeared from the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta and went to the place of sacrifice, invisibly sitting at the head of the assembly of all the Brahmins. That Brahmin boy saw the Buddha Bhagavan sitting at the head of the assembly. Having seen this, the Brahmin boy, knowing that the Bhagavan was sitting comfortably, satisfied him with many clean and excellent foods and drinks. The Bhagavan also partook of that place of sacrifice, invisibly sending forth rays of light to all the Brahmins, and then went to the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta. Then, those Brahmins saw that the entire place of sacrifice was enveloped in great light. Having seen this, they said, 'Our sacrifice has been accomplished!' Some said, 'The lord of the world, Brahma, has come to our place of sacrifice!' Others said, 'This is not Brahma, but Ishvara has come to our place of sacrifice!' Still others said, 'This is neither Brahma nor Ishvara, but Vishnu has come to this place of my sacrifice!' The Brahmin boy said, 'You are all deceived, it is the Bhagavan who has come to this place of sacrifice!' Then, the Brahmins did not believe the Brahmin boy. The Brahmin boy said, 'Tomorrow morning I will make you see it with your own eyes.' Having said this, the next day, that Brahmin boy, in the midst of all the assembled Brahmins, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, faced the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, joined his palms, generated faith, and spoke these words: 'Venerable Bhagavan is like this: past, future, and present.'

If you do not know anything, do not see, do not understand, do not keep anything in mind, how is that possible? Alas! O Blessed One, please come with the Sangha of monks to this place of my offering and enjoy it! Then, as soon as he said those words, the Blessed One, attended by many monks, led by the Sangha of monks, descended from the sky to that place of offering, and invisibly sat on the seats prepared by those Brahmins. That Brahmin boy saw the Buddha and the Sangha of monks sitting in the center of the place of offering. Having seen this, he went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and pleased the Blessed One. Then, the Brahmins said: This child is mad, he is talking nonsense alone. Then, the Brahmin boy said: I am not mad, the Blessed One, attended by the Sangha of monks, is sitting in the center of the place of offering. As soon as the Brahmin boy said these words, all those Brahmins saw the Blessed One with the Sangha of Hearers, sitting in the center of the place of offering. Then, in front of all the world, the Brahmin boy satisfied the Blessed One and the Sangha of Hearers with many clean and excellent foods, and offered them according to their wishes. When the Blessed One had finished eating, knowing that the bowl had been washed and the hands were clean, he took a very low seat and sat before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One taught the Brahmin boy with the Dharma, made him understand correctly, comprehend correctly, praise correctly, rejoice correctly, and then stood up from his seat and left. Then, the Brahmins arose from that event with great anger and confusion, saying: The food we prepared for ourselves, we gave to the Shramana Gautama. They were very angry and wanted to kill that Brahmin boy, but he ran away,
