Then, that Brahmin boy went to the place where he had previously promised, and sat down on the seat prepared in the middle of the Sangha of monks. Then, that Brahmin boy, knowing that the Buddha and the Sangha of monks were all seated comfortably, satisfied them with many clean and excellent foods and drinks from his own hands, according to their wishes. Then, he offered the Bhagavan robes suitable for the venerable, and also offered each of the other monks a pair of cloths, and prayed to attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. He said, 'Alas, may I, by this root of virtue, in a blind world without a guide or a teacher, become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, a Sugata, a knower of the world, a tamer of men, an unsurpassed teacher of gods and humans, a Buddha Bhagavan!' Then, the Bhagavan said to the Brahmin boy, 'Brahmin boy, well done! Well done! In the future, Brahmin boy, you, in a blind world without a guide or a teacher, will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, a Sugata, a knower of the world, a tamer of men, an unsurpassed teacher of gods and humans, named Buddha Bhagavan the Harmonizer.' Thus he spoke. Of the two lotus stories, the first: The basis of the story is that the Buddha was residing in Shravasti, and according to the custom of King Prasenajit, he would go three times a day to see the Bhagavan, offering incense, flour, fragrance, and flowers to the Bhagavan, and sit before him to listen to the Dharma. At that time, in the lotus pond of Tushita, the abode of the guardian deity of Jetavana, a lotus was born out of season, and it thought, 'King Prasenajit honors the ascetic Gautama three times a day with incense, flour, fragrance, and flowers, I should offer this lotus to him.' Thinking this, it took the lotus and went to Shravasti. At that time, without hindrance.

Then, a person with faith in lotuses began to make offerings to all sorts of strange things. Then, seeing that person coming with such an out-of-season lotus, he said to him: 'Hey, man, give me your lotus. I will use it to make offerings to the son of Lekden Treme I will also give you five hundred Karshapanas (ཀར་ཥ་པ་ནི).' At that time, the householder Anathapindika (མགོན་མེད་ཟས་སྦྱིན་), with five hundred servants, was setting out to see the Blessed One. The householder Anathapindika heard that man saying those words. Having heard, he thought: 'This person is a heretic, willing to spend so much money to buy and offer it to the son of Treme. Why don't I spend more money to buy it and offer it to the Blessed One?' So, he said to the guardian of Jeta Grove (ཀུན་དགའ་ར་བ་): 'I will give you a thousand Karshapanas, give me the lotus.' Then, the person who had faith in the son of Treme, hearing this, became arrogant and gave two thousand Karshapanas. In this way, the two of them raised the price higher and higher, up to a hundred thousand Karshapanas. Then, the guardian of Jeta Grove thought: 'If a person like the householder Anathapindika is willing to spend a hundred thousand for one person, then that monk Gautama (གཽ་ཏ་མ་) must be very great. Why don't I go myself and make offerings to that Blessed One?' So, the guardian of Jeta Grove said to the householder Anathapindika: 'Householder, I don't need money, I will go myself to make offerings to that Blessed One.' Having said this, he took the lotus and went to Prince Jeta's Grove The guardian of Jeta Grove, from afar, saw the Buddha, the Blessed One, his body adorned and radiant with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, like a body of fire, like a flame nourished by ghee, like a lamp placed in a golden vessel, like a stupa adorned with various jewels, with clear and stainless wisdom, possessing the purity of the Buddha, the Blessed One. Having seen him, he was overjoyed.

arose. Having arisen joy, he went to where the Blessed One was, and having gone, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and threw it upwards to offer to the Blessed One. By the power of the Blessed One, that lotus became as large as a chariot wheel. If the Blessed One went, it would go; if he stayed, it would stay. Then, the guardian of the Jetavana Grove, having seen such a miracle, became even more delighted with the Blessed One, and made a prayer for unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment: "Alas! May I, by this root of virtue, in a world that is blind, without a guide, without a teacher, become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, a Sugata, a knower of the world, a tamer of men, an unsurpassed teacher of gods and men, a Buddha, a Blessed One!" Then, the Blessed One said to the guardian of the Jetavana Grove: "Well done, well done, Good Face! In the future, you will, in a world that is blind, without a guide, without a teacher, become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, a Sugata, a knower of the world, a tamer of men, an unsurpassed teacher of gods and men, a Buddha, a Blessed One, and will be called Lotus Master." The second lotus story: The story takes place when the Blessed One was dwelling in Shravasti. At that time, in Shravasti itself, there was a guardian of the Jetavana Grove. In his lake, a lotus grew out of season, and he thought, "I should offer this lotus to King Prasenajit, perhaps it will become the source of my great wealth." So, he took the lotus and set off for the king's palace. The Buddha, the Blessed One, is the guide of the one and only path, possessing mastery over the two kinds of knowledge and wisdom, skilled in the three unmixed mindfulnesses, fearless with the four fearlessnesses, liberated from going to the five realms of existence, skilled in the six sense bases, with the seven limbs of enlightenment as his field of activity, meditating on the eight liberations, and ultimately abiding in...
