Once, he and she played and rejoiced together, but he had no son, nor did he have a daughter. Then one day, his hands became afflicted with leprosy. He thought to himself: "My house is full of wealth and gold, but I have no son, nor do I have a daughter. After I die and pass away, all that I possess will be seized by the king. Since I have no son, I will be of no use in the world." He was depressed in his heart. Then he made this vow: "If I have a son, I will perform a sacrifice and give many gifts to the Brahmins." He longed to have a son, thinking: "Today or tomorrow I will have a son." In this way, the Brahmin grew old, having neither a son nor a daughter. Then one day, the Brahmin thought: "I have neither a son nor a daughter, and I have not given alms, and I am growing old. Now, whether I have a son or not, I will give alms and accumulate merit." Then one day, he performed a sacrifice and offered many gifts to the Brahmins. When these gifts were being distributed, a great fight broke out. The master of the sacrifice said: "Settle the fight." But the Brahmins rushed at him, intending to kill him. He was frightened and terrified, and went to the place where the ascetics lived, and took ordination in the teaching of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Kashyapa. Having taken ordination there, he lived a life of celibacy for one lifetime. At the time of his death, he made a prayer: "Thus, I have lived a life of celibacy for one lifetime in the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, but I have not attained any accumulation of merit. May I please the Fully Enlightened Buddha, the Blessed One, who was prophesied by the Fully Enlightened Buddha Kashyapa as the Brahmin boy. May I not displease him. May I take ordination in the teachings of that one alone, abandon all defilements, and realize the state of an Arhat." Monks, the one who became a Brahmin at that time, that is the Brahmin.

This child is the one. At that time, this child was also killed by the Brahmins. Because of fear, he completely renounced and practiced pure conduct for a lifetime. At the time of death, he made a vow: May I please the Buddha, the Blessed One, who is the Brahmin boy prophesied by the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector, and may I not displease him. Having renounced in that very teaching, abandoning all defilements, may I realize the state of Arhat. Therefore, monks, I am exactly the same as the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector, with the same power, the same deeds, and the same methods. He pleased me and did not displease me. Now, this child has also been killed by the Brahmins. Because of fear, he completely renounced, abandoned all defilements, and realized the state of Arhat. The third Brahmin was residing in Jeta Grove in Shravasti. At that time, in Shravasti, a Brahmin performed a sacrifice and offered much gold and silver to the Brahmins as offerings. When they were distributing the offerings, a great dispute arose. The Brahmins living in the area said: You rely on the king's warriors, but we are the place of offerings and are qualified to receive offerings, so we should receive the offerings in order. The Brahmins living below said: You make a living by farming, but we are the place of offerings and are qualified to receive offerings, so we should receive the offerings in order. At that time, the Buddha, the Blessed One, was the guide of the one and only path, possessing two kinds of knowledge and wisdom, skilled in the three unconfused mindfulnesses, fearless with the four fearlessnesses, liberated from the cycle of the five realms, skilled in the six sense bases, with the seven branches of enlightenment as his field of activity, meditating on the eight liberations, entering into the nine successive abidings, possessing the ten powers, and uttering the great roar of a true lion. They are, according to the Dharma, three times a day...

At that time, there were the three times: past, present, and future. During the six periods of day and night, the Buddha observed the world with the Buddha's eye, thinking: Who is declining? Who is prospering? Who is impoverished? Who has become miserable? Who is afflicted with harm? Who is impoverished, miserable, and afflicted with harm? Who is inclined towards the lower realms? Who is falling into the lower realms? Who has fallen into the lower realms? Who shall I rescue from the lower realms and establish in the heavens, liberation, and fruition? Who is sinking in the mire of misconduct, whom shall I pull out by the hand? Who lacks the seven noble riches, whom shall I empower with the dominion of the seven noble riches? Who has not generated roots of virtue, whom shall I cause to generate them? Who has already generated roots of virtue, whom shall I cause to fully mature them? Who has fully matured roots of virtue, whom shall I pierce with the weapon of wisdom? Who shall possess a world adorned by the appearance of a Buddha, complete with fruits? Thus, the vision of wisdom operates. The ocean is the abode of aquatic creatures, and the waves of time may recede. For the disciples to be tamed, the Buddha's time never passes. Then, the Blessed One, thinking that the time had come to tame the Brahmins residing in Shravasti (舍卫城), attended by many monks and led by the Sangha of monks, rose from that very spot into the sky and went to the place of sacrifice, where he sat on the seat prepared in the midst of the Sangha of monks. As soon as they saw the Blessed One, they became exceedingly joyful. Having become joyful, they sat before him to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One said to those Brahmins: Friends, why do you fight for this root of strife, which leads to the basis of five kinds of severe punishments? Starting from the abandonment of attachment itself, the Blessed One taught the Dharma that was in accordance with it. Therefore, while hundreds of thousands of Brahmins were sitting on that very seat, some generated warmth, some generated forbearance in accordance with the supreme head and truth, the supreme of worldly dharmas, and the samadhi of vision. Some realized the fruit of entering the stream.
