This is the establishment of dwelling together. If asked, how is it that I establish dwelling together with myself? It is like this: a bhikkhu knowingly establishes what is not in accordance with the Dharma as being in accordance with the Dharma. Such is the establishment of dwelling together with myself. If asked, how does the Sangha establish dwelling together in accordance with the Dharma? It is like this: the Sangha should exclude a bhikkhu without regard, without remedy for return, and without remedy for emergence, excluding him with sinful views. Such is the Sangha's establishment of dwelling together in accordance with the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One dismissed the bhikkhus who had been expelled, and those who followed the expelled, and those who followed those who followed the expelled, and summoned the bhikkhus who were expelling, and those who followed the expellers, and those who followed those who followed the expellers, and said: Bhikkhus, you fight, expose wounds, quarrel with anger, and do not reconcile, even though I have taught you thus. Yet you still fight, expose wounds, quarrel with anger, and do not reconcile, and still perform the Uposatha, not considering it to have been performed. Is this true? They replied: Blessed One, it is true. Thus, up to the point of saying, 'Such a Sangha establishes dwelling together in accordance with the Dharma,' connect it as before. Thus, although the Blessed One taught them in this way, they still fought, exposed wounds, quarreled with anger, and did not reconcile. Then, a householder invited the Sangha of bhikkhus, including the Buddha, to his house for a meal. The bhikkhus went there. Then, the Blessed One, in order to attend to their needs, said: 'You should invite the offering here.' The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, for five reasons, allowed the acceptance of offerings in order to attend to their needs: because they wished to establish it properly within, because they wished to teach the Dharma to the gods, because they wished to visit the sick, because they wished to inspect the bedding, and because they wished to establish the basis of training for the Shravakas. In this instance, the Blessed One is in the process of disciplining.

Because it is intended to establish the basis for learning. He was sent to collect alms to prepare the utensils. Then, many monks went to that house, sat on the mats and fought, exposing each other's faults and arguing. They fought, exposed each other's faults, argued and sat there. They were doing inappropriate bodily actions and inappropriate verbal actions, and even hitting each other. Then, the one who went to collect alms took the alms and went to where the Blessed One was, and after arriving, bowed to the Blessed One's feet with his head and sat on one side. Then, the Blessed One said to the monk who was collecting alms: Monk, is the Sangha of monks satisfied with the good food? He replied: Yes, venerable one, the Sangha of monks is satisfied with the good food. Venerable one, however, many monks who are in that house are fighting, exposing each other's faults and arguing. They are fighting, exposing each other's faults, arguing and sitting there, doing inappropriate bodily actions and inappropriate verbal actions, and even hitting each other. Then, after the Blessed One had finished his meal, he washed his feet outside the monastery, and entered the monastery to put things in order. Then, after the Blessed One had taken the food from the bowl, he sat down on the seat prepared in the middle of the Sangha of monks. After sitting on the seat, the Blessed One said to the monks: Monks, is it true that you went to that house and fought, exposing each other's faults and arguing, and that you fought, exposing each other's faults, arguing and sitting there, doing inappropriate bodily actions and inappropriate verbal actions, and even hitting each other? Venerable one, it is not. Then, the Blessed One said to the monks: For the monks who went to that house and are divided into factions, I will establish the laws to be used as punishment. Monks, abandon all the places of contention that cause strife. For the ordinary monks, the monks

And those who have broken the sangha, whether it is day or night, whether it is morning or evening, do not let them dwell in the same temple, or the same monastery, or near the same village. Do not let them dwell together, do not let them walk the same path, do not let them travel together on the road, do not send messages, do not send verbal messages. Let them remain in an ordinary state, so that they can understand the root of the dispute, and be able to pacify the dispute according to the Dharma and the Vinaya. In order to protect the teachings of the Teacher, if they can reach an agreement, then the method of pacifying the dispute is pure. Pacifying the root of the dispute through a method that is in accordance with the Vinaya is called pacifying the root of the dispute. The tenth verse of the summary from the Hundred Karmas is completed, and the Hundred Karmas is completely finished. The Hundred Karmas.
