Having found many gold coins, he took them and set out for Shravasti. On the way, he was robbed by bandits, and he became very distressed. He thought, "If I go home, I will have a great quarrel with the Brahmin woman. I will give up this kind of life and go to a dense forest, and I will die." Thinking this, he went to a dense forest, tied a rope to a tree trunk, and prepared to hang himself. At that time, the Blessed One thought, "If this Brahmin could be ordained in my teachings, abandon all defilements, and directly realize the state of an Arhat, why would he do such a foolish thing?" The Blessed One disappeared from Shravasti and went to that dense forest. The Blessed One said to the Brahmin, "Brahmin, do not do foolish things! I will give you wealth." Having said this, the Blessed One pointed out the treasure to him, saying, "Brahmin, this is your wealth, do not abandon your precious life." Having said this, the Blessed One returned to the monastery. Then, the Brahmin took those gold coins and went back to his home. He used the money to enrich his family's property, and he began to give alms and accumulate merit. Later, one day, he thought, "The ascetic Gautama is both beneficial and helpful to me. I will give up living at home and go to him to be ordained." So, he abandoned his family and went to where the Blessed One was. He bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat before him to listen to the Dharma. The Blessed One understood his thoughts, habits, faculties, wisdom, and nature, and taught him the Dharma that was suitable for him. Therefore, while the Brahmin was sitting on that very seat, he destroyed the twenty high mountains of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and directly realized the fruit of stream-entry. Having seen the truth, he stood up from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, and bowed with folded hands in the direction of the Blessed One, saying to the Blessed One, "Venerable One, the Dharma you have spoken is truly excellent."

If it is permissible in the Vinaya to ordain, to receive full ordination, and to obtain the status of a Bhikshu, then I also wish to practice Brahmacharya in the presence of the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One ordained him with the words, "Come, Bhikshu," and conferred full ordination upon him, and also gave him instructions. He also, through diligence, practice, and effort, abandoned all defilements and directly realized the state of an Arhat. Then, the Bhikshus requested the Buddha, the Blessed One: This Brahmin, fearing poverty, was about to kill himself, but the Blessed One bestowed upon him a great heap of wealth. Behold how he is placed in the ultimate accomplishment of eternity and the bliss of Nirvana. The Blessed One spoke: Not only now, but in the past as well, this Brahmin, fearing poverty, was about to kill himself. I gave him a great heap of wealth. Listen to how I caused him to abide in the path of the ten virtuous actions. Bhikshus, in the past, in the city of Varanasi, there was a king named Great Power who ruled. During his reign, there was prosperity, abundance, peace, good harvests, it was filled with people and many beings, quarrels and fights were pacified, there was no conflict, internal strife, thieves, disease, or famine, and it was abundant with rice, sugarcane, cattle, and buffalo. There was no harm, no thorns were stirred up, and he ruled the kingdom according to Dharma, like caring for a beloved only child. That king was of a loving nature, full of compassion, loving towards sentient beings, and delighted in giving. He gave gifts and made merit, giving whatever they desired to ascetics, Brahmins, the poor, the destitute, and beggars. He prepared many foods and drinks and gave them to beings dwelling in the sky, in the water, and on the land. He also placed the world on the path of the ten virtuous actions. Then he vowed: From now on, I will give everything to all sentient beings. Then, the king, according to Dharma,

Therefore, both humans and non-humans strive to protect, help, and hide it. They send down good rains from time to time and make the grains grow. The king under the sun near that king rules in a way that is not in accordance with the Dharma, harming many people living in the area with wooden yokes, shackles, handcuffs, and whippings. The people there are threatened by heavy taxes and extra tributes, and they flee to reside in the territory of the Great Power King. Then one day, the king under the sun, accompanied by many ministers, went to inspect the territory. He saw that villages, towns, cities, villages in the forests, and markets were all deserted. He asked the ministers, 'Why has the territory become so desolate?' The ministers replied, 'O god, the territory of the Great Power King is rich, prosperous, peaceful, and has good harvests, and the people there also live as if there were no taxes, so most people have fled there to reside.' Upon hearing these words, the king under the sun became furious and assembled the four divisions of his army to fight against the Great Power King. The Great Power King heard that the king under the sun was angry and had assembled the four divisions of his army to fight against him. Upon hearing this, he gathered his ministers and instructed them, 'Alas, I cannot bear to do evil for the sake of just one lifetime's livelihood. If you do not want the country to be destroyed, then seek peace with the king under the sun. I cannot harm him.' Having said this, he spoke in verse: It is better to wear bark clothes and live in the forest, Eating fruits and associating with wild beasts. Those who are feared by people of the next life, Will not kill or imprison for the sake of kingship. Then the ministers thought: This king cannot bear to kill anyone, and it would not be right if we all disappeared. We are all painfully
