། །དགེ་སློང་དག་ཇི་སྙམ་དུ་སེམས། དེའི་ཚེ་དྲང་སྲོང་དུ་གྱུར་པ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་སྤྱོད་པ་ལ་གནས་པ་གང་ཡིན་པ་དེ་ནི་ང་ཉིད་ཡིན་ནོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་བློན་པོ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་པོར་གྱུར་པ་གང་ཡིན་པ་དེ་དག་ནི་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་པོ་འདི་དག་ཁོ་ན་ཡིན་ཏེ། དེའི་ཚེ་ཡང་དེ་དག་གསོད་དུ་བཏང་བ་ལས་ངས་སྲོག་ཕངས་པ་བྱིན་ཏེ། བསམ་གཏན་བཞི་དང་། མངོན་པར་ཤེས་པ་ལྔ་ལ་བཀོད་དོ། །ད་ལྟར་ཡང་འདི་རྣམས་ངས་སྲོག་ཕངས་པ་བྱིན་ནས། གཡུང་དྲུང་གི་མཐར་ཐུག་པ་གྲུབ་པ་དང་། བདེ་བའི་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ལ་བཀོད་དོ། །གཞན་ཡང་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་འོད་སྲུང་གི་བསྟན་པ་ལ་འདི་རྣམས་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ནས། འདི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དེར་ཚེ་གཅིག་ཏུ་ཚངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་སྤྱད་ནས། དབང་པོ་རྣམས་ཡོངས་སུ་སྨིན་པར་བྱས་པ་དེས་ན། ད་ལྟར་རྣམ་པར་གྲོལ་བར་གྱུར་ཏོ།། །།ཤ་ཟ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ནི། གླེང་གཞི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ན་བཞུགས་ཏེ། དེའི་ཚེ་མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་དང་། རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཀྱི་བར་མཚམས་ན་ཤ་ཟ་སྟོང་གནས་ཏེ། དེ་དག་གིས་དེ་ཕྱོགས་སུ་འདྲུལ་བཅད་དེ། ཡུལ་མ་ག་་དང་ཡུལ་ཀོ་ས་ལའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་མང་པོ་ཁ་འདོག་པར་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསལ་རྒྱལ་གྱིས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོ་ལ་ཕོ་ཉས་བཟླུགས་ཏེ། མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་དང་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཀྱི་བར་མཚམས་ན། ཤ་ཟ་སྟོང་གནས་ཏེ། དེ་དག་དེ་ན་འཁོད་པས། ཡུལ་གཉིས་ལ་གནོད་པ་ཆེན་པོ་བྱེད་པ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཤེས་སམ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱང་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཁམས་ན་བཞུགས་ན། ཤ་ཟ་དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཕྱིར་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་གསོལ་བའི་རིགས་སོ་ཞེས་སྤྲིང་ངོ་། །དེ་ནས་དེ་ཐོས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་རྒྱལ་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་སོང་སྟེ་ཕྱིན་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཞབས་ལ་མགོ་བོས་ ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ། ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུག་གོ །ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུག་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོ་ལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་གཏམ་གྱིས་ཡང་དག་པར་བསྟན། ཡང་དག་པར་འཛིན་དུ་བཅུག།ཡང་དག་པར་གཟེངས་བསྟོད། ཡང་དག་པར་དགའ་བར་མཛད་དེ། ཆོས་ཀྱི་གཏམ་རྣམ་གྲངས་དུ་མས་ཡང་དག་པར་བསྟན། ཡང་དག་པར་འཛིན་དུ་བཅུག།ཡང་དག་པར་གཟེངས་བསྟོད། ཡང་དག་པར་དགའ་བར་མཛད་ནས། ཅང་མི་གསུང་བར་བཞུགས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་གཏམ་གྱི་མཇུག་རྫོགས་པར་རིག་ནས། སྟན་ལས་ལངས་ཏེ། བླ་གོས་ཕྲག་པ་གཅིག་ཏུ་གཟར་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ག་ལ་བ་དེ་ལོགས་སུ་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་བ

Furthermore, these ones, having gone forth in the teachings of the perfectly complete Buddha, Light Protector, practiced celibacy there for one lifetime, and having fully matured their faculties, have now become completely liberated. The story of the flesh-eaters is as follows: The foundation was laid in the royal palace. At that time, there were a thousand flesh-eaters dwelling between Shravasti and the royal palace. They were cutting off and plundering in that direction, causing many people of Magadha and Kosala to change color. Then, King Brightness sent a messenger to King Image Heart, saying: "Between Shravasti and the royal palace, there are a thousand flesh-eaters dwelling. They are residing there, causing great harm to both countries. Do you know this? Since the Blessed One is also residing in your realm, you should request the Blessed One on behalf of those flesh-eaters." Having heard this, King Image Heart immediately went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the Blessed One taught King Image Heart with a Dharma talk, causing him to understand correctly, to grasp correctly, and to rejoice correctly. Having taught him correctly with various Dharma talks, causing him to understand correctly, to grasp correctly, and to rejoice correctly, he remained silent. Having bowed down, he spoke thus to the Blessed One: "Venerable Blessed One, you have subdued the unruly nāgas, such as Nanda and Upananda. You have also subdued the unruly yakshas, such as those dwelling in the wilderness. Now, in the border region between the lands of Magadha and Kosala, a large gathering of flesh-eaters dwells, and by residing there, they cause harm to many beings. May the Blessed One, out of compassion, subdue those flesh-eater hosts." Then the Blessed One, by not speaking to King Rūpakāya, gave his consent. Then King Rūpakāya, knowing that the Blessed One had given his consent by not speaking, bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and departed from the presence of the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, seeing that the time had come to subdue those flesh-eaters, vanished from Rājagṛha and went to the charnel ground forest, arriving at the abode of the flesh-eaters. Then those flesh-eaters, from afar, saw the Buddha, the Blessed One. Having seen him, they transformed into unsightly forms and rushed with great force towards the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One generated a worldly thought, thinking: 'Alas, it would be good if the Great King Vaiśravaṇa, along with all the renowned yakshas, would come to see me.' As soon as the Blessed One generated this thought, the Great King Vaiśravaṇa, along with all the renowned yakshas, went to where the Blessed One was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down on one side. Then the Great King Vaiśravaṇa and the other renowned yakshas tormented the hosts of flesh-eaters, and those flesh-eaters, being terrified and frightened, began to scatter in all directions. In order to subdue them, the Blessed One emanated great flames from all around. Those flesh-eaters saw themselves surrounded by great flames, and unable to escape, they saw only peace at the feet of the Blessed One. Seeking refuge, they ran to where the Blessed One was and sat down surrounding the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One spoke to those flesh-eaters:
