After going inside, he returned from the fulfillment of the great ocean ship's purpose. That householder, relying on the householder Anathapindada, developed faith in the Bhagavan's teachings, took refuge, and took the vows. Then one day, that householder invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to his home, satisfied them with many pure and excellent foods prepared by his own hands, offered them whatever they desired, and sat before them to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Bhagavan understood the thoughts, habits, faculties, wisdom, and nature of that householder, and taught the Dharma that suited him. Then, that householder and his retinue, while seated on that very seat, shattered the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and directly realized the fruit of stream-entry. Having seen the truth, he went again and again to Jeta Grove and listened to the Bhagavan's teachings. He remembered his son again and again, thinking, "Alas, if he also came here and developed faith in the Bhagavan's teachings, and could also obtain such Dharma, how wonderful it would be!" Then one day, that householder's son returned from the fulfillment of the great ocean ship's purpose, left the goods in the garden, and went very quickly to his home to see his parents. His parents had gone to Jeta Grove to listen to the Dharma. The householder's son heard that his parents had gone to Jeta Grove to listen to the Dharma. Having heard this, he also went to that very Jeta Grove. Having gone there, he thought, "I will go to see my parents." The householder's son saw his parents sitting before the Bhagavan to listen to the Dharma. Having seen this, he went to where the Bhagavan was, and having gone there, he bowed his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, embraced his parents' necks, and sat before the Bhagavan to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Bhagavan aroused joy in the boy towards the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment.

He bestowed teachings that would lead to such a state. Then, as soon as he heard this, the boy developed a desire for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Then, that householder, having heard the Dharma from the Bhagavan, went with his son to his own house. Having gone there, the two of them said to the boy: "Son, what have you brought back to us two from the great ocean?" The boy said: "I have sought and found precious jewels of great value." The two parents said to him: "Son, you went into the ocean and experienced countless sufferings, and yet you have brought back only ordinary jewels. We, while staying right here, can find precious jewels of great value with little effort." The boy said: "Then, I would like to see what kind of jewels you find with little effort." Then, the two parents told him in detail about their own qualities. Then, as soon as he heard this, the boy became even more delighted with the Bhagavan. Having become delighted, he went to where the Bhagavan was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, and sat down before him in order to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Bhagavan taught him the Dharma that was suitable for his disposition. Then, that son of the householder, knowing that the Bhagavan's discourse had come to an end, arose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and, in the direction of the Bhagavan, bowed with his palms joined, and said this to the Bhagavan: "For three months, if the Bhagavan would grant me the favor of offering robes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine for the sick, and medicinal supplies to the Bhagavan and the community of monks, please grant me your permission." Then, the Bhagavan, without saying anything to the son of the householder, gave his permission. Then, the son of the householder, knowing that the Bhagavan's silence meant permission, prepared all the necessary items in the grove of Prince Jeta, and for three months he served and honored the community of monks, headed by the Buddha, with all the necessary items. On the final day, he offered food with a hundred flavors to the community of monks, headed by the Buddha, and

He offered clothes to the deceased Ma, a hundred thousand items. Then, he offered each of the other monks a pair of cloths, and made aspirations to attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Alas, with this root of virtue, may I, when there is no guide and no teacher for the blind in the world, become the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly and Completely Awakened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Well-Gone One, the Knower of the World, the Guide of those who need to be tamed, the Unsurpassed One, the Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said to that boy: 'Son of a householder, well done! Well done! In the future, when there is no guide and no teacher for the blind in the world, you will become the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly and Completely Awakened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Well-Gone One, the Knower of the World, the Guide of those who need to be tamed, the Unsurpassed One, the Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One, named Water Wave.' The story called "Taking Strength": The setting was when the Blessed One was residing in Shravasti. At that time, the king of the northern Panchala and the king of the southern Panchala were not on good terms with each other, and from time to time they would cause many ordinary people to suffer. The friend and confidant of these two was King Prasenajit. King Prasenajit thought: 'What method should I use to reconcile these two?' Then, an idea occurred to him: 'The Blessed One is the tamer of the untamed, so I should beseech the Blessed One.' So, he went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, he prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat to one side. King Prasenajit then said this to the Blessed One: 'Venerable One, the king of the northern Panchala and the king of the southern Panchala are not on good terms with each other, and those two from time to time cause many ordinary people to suffer. Blessed One, since you are the tamer of the untamed, for the sake of compassion, please make an effort to reconcile the hatred of those two.' Then, the Blessed One did not say anything to King Prasenajit.
