Desiring to enter, he asked: With how much wealth can one be allowed to enter among you? They said: With five hundred karshapanas, one can be allowed to enter among us. The Brahmin's son said: Where do I have five hundred karshapanas? Moreover, you are so wealthy, yet you are stingy with generosity. I am a poor and impoverished person, I cannot offer you so much wealth. Then, the sons of the householder Anathapindika said: If you have faith in the teachings of the Bhagavan, we will give you five hundred karshapanas. The Brahmin's son said: I do not know the virtues of the ascetic Gautama, what are the virtues of the ascetic Gautama like? Then, the sons of Anathapindika praised the Buddha to the Brahmin's son. Then, as soon as he heard that, the Brahmin's son became very delighted with the Buddha. Having become delighted, he said: I also want to enter among you. I also want to take refuge in the Buddha Bhagavan, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Then, the sons of Anathapindika heard the Brahmin's son speak such words. Having heard, they gave him several hundred karshapanas. The Brahmin's son also entered among them. Then one day, those friends had the thought: Let us invite the Buddha and the Sangha of monks for three months and serve them with all necessities. Among them, some said: We all cannot continuously do only this for three months, let us take turns offering meals. The Brahmin's son said: I am poor and impoverished, I cannot afford to take turns offering meals like that. There, some said: Whoever cannot offer meals to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks, let him leave from among us. Then, the Brahmin's son thought: I in this

If it is not wasted but utilized, I thought that it would not be accidental to arise from among us, so I said: Please take turns doing the last thing every day, and give me all the things you have left. The friends said: Let's do it as you like. After saying that, they invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks for three months, and took turns every day to offer all the offerings to the Buddha and the Sangha of monks for three months. There, all the things they had left were given to that Brahmin boy, and the Brahmin boy collected all those things, and also had others offer other things, karshāpana (梵文,karshāpana,an ancient Indian monetary unit, literally: karshāpana). On the last day, he invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to his home, and also persuaded King Prasenajit and the householder Anathapindika, and he decorated the road very beautifully that night, and also decorated the city very beautifully, and prepared a lot of clean and beautiful food and drinks that night. The next morning, he got up early, set up the seats, filled them with water, and urged the Blessed One with a messenger: Venerable, the time for the meal has come, please take the meal. The Blessed One thought that the time had come, so he urged: Please go. Then, the Blessed One put on his lower skirt and Dharma robe in the morning, took his bowl, and many monks followed, and the Sangha of monks cleared the way in front, and went to that sāgarava (梵文,sāgarava, literally: sāgarava) open space of the Brahmin boy, and after arriving, sat down on the seats that had been laid out in the center of the Sangha of monks. Then, the Brahmin boy knew that the Buddha and the Sangha of monks were seated comfortably, and used his own hands to feed them with many clean and beautiful foods and drinks, offering them as they wished, and offered the Dharma robe suitable for the Venerable to the Blessed One. He also offered a pair of cloths to each of the other monks, and made a vow to attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment: Alas! With this root of virtue, may I, when there is no guide or teacher for the blind in the world, attain the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct.

Endowed, Well-Gone, World-Knower, Tamer of Beings, Supreme, Teacher of Gods and Humans, may you become the Buddha Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan said to the Brahmin boy: Brahmin boy, well done! Well done! In the future, Brahmin boy, when the world is blind and without guidance, without a teacher, you will become the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Well-Gone, World-Knower, Tamer of Beings, Supreme, Teacher of Gods and Humans, the Buddha Bhagavan, named "Harmony." Thus he spoke. The two lotuses, the first of which is: The beginning of the story is that while residing in Shravasti, according to the custom of King Prasenajit, he would go three times a day to behold the Bhagavan, and after making offerings to the Bhagavan with incense, flour, perfume, and flowers, he would sit before him to listen to the Dharma. At that time, in the lotus lake of Tushita, the abode of the guardian deity of the Kunala Garden, a lotus was born out of season. He thought in his mind: King Prasenajit makes offerings to the Shramana Gautama three times a day with incense, flour, perfume, and flowers. I should offer this lotus to him. Thinking this, he took it and went to Shravasti. At that time, a person with faith in Anathapindika began to make offerings and donations to all wondrous things. Then, he saw that person carrying such an out-of-season lotus and said to him: Hey, man, give me your lotus, and I will use it to make offerings to the virtuous Anathapindika. I will also give you five hundred karshapanas. At that time, the householder Anathapindika, with five hundred servants, set out to behold the Bhagavan. The householder Anathapindika heard that man saying those words. Having heard this, he thought: This person is of false doctrine, and he is buying it with so much wealth to offer to Anathapindika.
