།དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོས་སྨྲས་པ། ང་ནི་ཤི་བའི་ནོར་དབང་དུ་ཟད་ཀྱིས། གསོན་པོའི་ནི་མི་དབང་སྟེ། རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་དེ་ཡང་ད་དུང་གསོན་པོར་འདུག་ལ་དྲང་སྲོང་རྣམས་ནི་ཕྱིར་ཡང་འབབ་ཅིང་། ཁྱིམ་ན་གནས་པར་འགྱུར་ཡང་སྲིད་དོ་ཞེས་བྱས་ནས། རྒྱལ་པོས་དེའི་ཁྱིམ་ནས་ཅི་ཡང་མ་བཞེས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཕྱི་ཞིག་ན་དེའི་ཆུང་མས་ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་འཁོར་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་དང་བཅས་པ། རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་ལྷགས་སོ་ཞེས་ཐོས་སོ། །ཐོས་ནས་ཀྱང་དེ་འཁོར་དང་བཅས་པ་སྤྱན་དྲངས་ཏེ་ཁྱིམ་དུ་ཟན་བྱིན་ནོ། །དེ་ནས་དེའི་ཆུང་མས་བསམས་པ། ཅི་འདི་བྱ་བ་བྱས་པ་ཡིན་ནམ། འོན་ཏེ་སོ་སོའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་ཡིན་ཞིག་གུ། གལ་ཏེ་སོ་སོའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་ཡིན་ན་ནི་འདི་དྲང་བའི་ཐབས་ཤིག་བྱའོ་སྙམ་ནས། དེས་དེ་ཟན་ཟ་བའི་ཚེ་ཁང་ཐོག་ནས་ཟངས་གཞོང་གཅིག་དེའི་མདུན་དུ་བོར་ནས། དེ་དེའི་སྒྲས་སྐྲག་པར་གྱུར་ལ། གཅིག་ཏུ་ན་ཟན་ཟ་བའི་ཚེ། དེས་ཟངས་གཞོང་དེ་ལ་གྲིས་བྲུད་པ་ལྟར་ཡང་བྱེད་དེ། དེས་དེ་མཐོང་ནས་བསམས་པ། འདི་ནི་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ། འདི་ནི་སོ་སོའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་ཡིན་པས་བདག་གིས་འདི་དྲང་ནུས་སོ་སྙམ་ནས། རྐང་པ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ་སྨྲས་པ། ཇོ་བོ་མི་བཞུགས་པས་བདག་ཅག་གི་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་འདི་དག་དམས་པར་གྱུར་ཏེ། དེ་བས་ན་ཇོ་བོ་སང་ཡང་འཁོར་བརྒྱ་ལྔ་བཅུ་དང་ཁྱིམ་འདིར་བཤོས་གསོལ་བར་ཅི་གནང་ཞེས་བྱས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་ཀྱིས་ཆུང་མ་ལ་ཅང་མི་ཟེར་བར་ཁས་བླངས་ནས། དེས་ཕྱི་དེ་ཉིན་དེའི་འཁོར་བརྒྱ་ལྔ་བཅུ་དང་། ཟན་བྱིན་ནས་ཡང་ཕྱི་དེ་ཉིན་པར་འཁོར་བརྒྱ་དང་ཟན་ལ་བོས་སོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་མཐར་གྱིས་བུད་མེད་དེས་འཁོར་ཇེ་ཉུང་ཇེ་ཉུང་དུ་ཕྲིས་ནས། ཐ་མའི་ཉིན་པར་ གཅིག་པུ་ཟན་ལ་བོས་ཏེ། དེས་ཟན་བྱིན་ནས་དེ་དྲང་བའི་ཕྱིར་ཕོངས་པའི་ཚིག་སྨྲ་ཞིང་། ཇོ་བོ་མི་བཞུགས་པས་འདི་ལྟར་བྲན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་བརྙས་སོ་ཞེས་ཟེར་རོ། །དེས་སྔ་ནས་ཁོལ་པོ་ཁྱེའུ་ཞིག་ལ་བསྒོ་སྟེ། གང་གི་ཚེ་ང་ཆོས་ཉན་ཅིང་འདུག་པ་དེའི་ཚེ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ང་ལན་གསུམ་གྱི་བར་དུ་དགུག་པ་ཐོང་ལ། ངའི་གན་དུ་ཤོག་ཅིག་ཅེས་སྤྲིང་ཤིག་དེ་ནས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཐད་དུ་འོངས་པ་དང་། དེའི་འོག་ཏུ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ངའི་ཅོ་ཏོ་ནས་ཟུང་ལ། ཇོ་བོའི་མདུན་དུ་རྡེགས་ཤིག་ཅེས་བྱས་ཏེ་བཞག་གོ །དེ་ནས་ཁོལ་པོའི་ཁྱེའུ་དེས་ཀྱང་དེ་ཁོ་ན་བཞིན་དུ་བྱས་ནས། བུད་མེད་དེས་སྨྲས་པ། ཇོ་བོ་ད་གཟིགས། ཁྱོད་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མདུན་དུ་ཡང་བདག་འདི་ཁོ་ན་ལྟ་ཞིང་མཆིས་སོ་ཞེས་བྱས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དེ་ཐོས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་ཁྲོ་བའི་ཀུན་ཏུ་དསྲེས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་སྐྱེས་ནས། དེ་ཁྲོས་པས་ཆུང་མས་སྔ་ནས་མལ་དུ་རལ་གྲི་བཞག་པ་དེ་བླངས་ནས། ཤུབས་ནས་ཕྱུང་སྟེ་ཁྱེའུ་དེའི་སྟེང་དུ་བརྒྱུགས་ནས། ཆུང་མས་རྐང་པ་ལ་ཕྱག་བྱས་ཏེ་སྨྲས་པ། ཇོ་བོ་རེ་ཞིག་གཟུ་ལུམས་མ་མཛད་པར་བསླབ་པའི་གཞི་རྣམས་ཕུལ་ལ་དེའི་འོག་ཏུ་འདི་བཅོས་པས་སླེབས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་ཀྱིས་ཆུང་མ་དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མདུན་དུ་བསླབ་པའི་གཞི་རྣམས་ཕུལ་ཏེ། ཆོས་གོས་ཚོན་ཅན་རྣམས་བོར་ནས། ཁྱིམ་པའི་གོས་རྣམས་བགོས་ཏེ་འདུག་གོ །དེ་ནས་ཆུང་མ་ན་རེ། འདི་ནི་བདག་གིས་ཇོ་བོ་དྲང་བའི་ཐབས་བགྱི་བའི་སླད་དུ་དེ་ལྟར་བགྱིས་པར་བས་ཀྱི་ཇོ་བོས་འདི་ལ་ཁོན་དུ་མི་བཟུང་བར་གསོལ། ཇོ་བོའི་ཁྱིམ་གྱི་འབྱོར་པ་ནི་རྒྱ་ཆེ་བ་ལགས་ཀྱིས། ད་སླན་ཅད་ཇོ་བོ་འདོད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་སྤྱོད་ཅིང་བཞུགས་ཤིག །སྦྱིན་པ་དག་ཀྱང་སྦྱིན་པར་མཛོད་ཅིག །བསོད་ནམས་དག་ཀྱང་མཛོད་ཅིག་ཅེས་ཟེར་རོ། །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གཟུགས་ཅན་སྙིང་པོས། ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་ཀྱིས་བསླབ་པ་རྣམས་ཕུལ་ཏེ། ཉམས་པར་བྱས་སོ་ཞེས་ཐོས་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོས་དེ་དགུག་པ་བཏང་ནས་དེ་ལ་སྔོན་གྱི་ལས་ཐབས་བྱིན་ནོ། །དེ་ནས་དགེ་སློང་མང་པོ་དེ་དག་སྔ་དྲོ་ཤམ་ཐབས་དང་ཆོས་གོས་བགོས་ཏེ། ལྷུང་ བཟེད་བསྣམས་ནས། རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་བསོད་སྙོམས་ལ་དོང་སྟེ། དགེ་སློང་མང་པོ་དེ་དག་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་བསོད་སྙོམས་ལ་རྒྱུ་བ་དང་། ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་ཀྱིས་བསླབ་པ་རྣམས་ཕུལ་ཏེ། ཉམས་པར་བྱས་སོ་ཞེས་ཐོས་སོ། །ཐོས་ནས་ཀྱང་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ནས་བསོད་སྙོམས་བླངས་ནས། ཟན་ཟོས་ཏེ། ཟས་ཕྱིས་ལེན་པ་སྤངས་ནས་ལྷུང་བཟེད་དང་ཆོས་གོས་བཞག་སྟེ། རྐང་པ་བཀྲུས་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ག་ལ་བཞུགས་པ་དེར་དོང་སྟེ་ལྷགས་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཞབས་ལ་མགོ་བོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ། ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འཁོད་དོ། །ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འཁོད་ནས། དགེ་སློང་མང་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཙུན་པ་འདི་ན་བདག་ཅག་དགེ་སློང་མང་པོ་སྔ་དྲོ་ཤམ་ཐབས་དང་ཆོས་གོས་འཚལ་ཏེ། ལྷུང་བཟེད་ཐོགས་ནས། རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་བསོད་སྙོམས་ལ་མཆིས་པ་ན། བཙུན་པ་བདག་ཅག་དགེ་སློང་མང་པོ་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་ཏུ་བསོད་སྙོམས་ལ་རྒྱུ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས། ནག་པ་གླང་ཆེན་གནས་ཀྱིས་བསླབ་པ་རྣམས་ཕུལ་ཏེ། ཉམས་པར་བགྱིས་སོ་ཞེས་ཐོས་ལགས་སོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ལ་བཀའ་སྩལ་

然后国王说：“我已是死者的财产，活人才是自己的主人。那个种姓之子还活着，而且那些苦行者也可能会还俗，在家中居住。”说完，国王没有取他家中的任何东西。后来，他的妻子听说黑象住处来了五百眷属，到了国王的都城。听到后，她也把他们和眷属一起请到家中供养食物。然后他的妻子想：“这是否是做了这件事的人呢？还是只是个普通人呢？如果只是个普通人，那我就想个办法来揭穿他。”于是，当他吃东西的时候，她从屋顶上扔了一个铜盆到他面前。他被那声音吓了一跳。有一次，当他吃东西的时候，她也像用刀刮铜盆一样。他看到后心想：“这并非阿罗汉，这只是个普通人，我能揭穿他。”于是，她向他磕头说道：“老爷不在，我们的享用都变差了。因此，老爷明天能否带着一百五十眷属来我家用餐呢？”然后黑象住处没有对妻子说什么，就答应了。第二天，她供养了他和一百五十眷属食物，然后又在第二天邀请了一百眷属来用餐。就这样，那女人逐渐减少眷属的数量，最后一天，只邀请了他一个人来用餐。她供养食物后，为了揭穿他，就说些贫困的话：“老爷不在，所以连奴仆们也欺负我。”她事先吩咐一个奴隶小孩说：“当我在听法的时候，你三次大声呼唤我，然后到我这里来。你来之后，抓住我的发髻，拖到老爷面前。”就这样安排好了。然后那个奴隶小孩也照做了。那女人说道：“老爷，现在看看吧！在你面前，我也只能这样了。”

Then the king said, "I am but the property of the dead, the living are their own masters. That son of good family is still alive, and those ascetics might also return to lay life and reside in their homes." Having said this, the king took nothing from his house. Later, his wife heard that Black Elephant Abode had arrived in the king's city with five hundred attendants. Having heard this, she invited him and his attendants and offered them food in her home. Then his wife thought, "Is this the one who did the deed? Or is he just an ordinary person? If he is just an ordinary person, then I will devise a way to expose him." So, when he was eating, she dropped a copper basin from the roof in front of him. He was startled by the sound. Once, while he was eating, she also made it sound as if she were scraping the copper basin with a knife. When he saw this, he thought, "This is not an Arhat, this is just an ordinary person, I can expose him." So, she bowed at his feet and said, "My lord is not here, so our enjoyments have become diminished. Therefore, would my lord be willing to come to this house tomorrow with one hundred and fifty attendants for a meal?" Then Black Elephant Abode did not say anything to his wife, but agreed. The next day, she offered food to him and one hundred and fifty attendants, and then again on the next day invited one hundred attendants for a meal. In this way, the woman gradually reduced the number of attendants, and on the last day, she invited only him alone for a meal. After offering him food, in order to expose him, she spoke words of poverty, saying, "My lord is not here, so even the servants despise me." She had previously instructed a slave boy, saying, "When I am listening to the Dharma, you should call me three times, and then come to me. After you come, seize me by the hair and drag me before my lord." Thus she arranged it. Then the slave boy did just as she had instructed. The woman said, "My lord, look now! Even in your presence, I am treated in this way."

Then, immediately after hearing this, Black Elephant Dwelling generated great and all-consuming anger. In his anger, his wife took the sword that had been placed on the bed earlier, drew it from its sheath, and ran towards the boy. The wife paid homage to his feet and said, 'Lord, please do not be rash for a moment, but first offer the foundations of learning, and then it will be time to deal with this.' Then, Black Elephant Dwelling offered the foundations of learning in front of his wife, abandoned the colored Dharma robes, and put on the clothes of a householder and sat down. Then the wife said, 'I did this in order to guide the Lord on the right path, so please do not hold a grudge against this. The Lord's household wealth is vast, so from now on, may the Lord enjoy whatever he desires, give generously, and accumulate merit.' Then, King Embodied Heart heard that Black Elephant Dwelling had offered the precepts and violated them, so the king sent for him and gave him his former job. Then, many monks, in the morning, having put on their lower robes and Dharma robes, carrying their bowls, went to Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar) for alms. As those many monks were wandering for alms in Rajagriha, they heard that Black Elephant Dwelling had offered the precepts and violated them. Having heard this, they took alms from Rajagriha, ate their meal, abandoned the practice of wiping their bowls after eating, put down their bowls and Dharma robes, washed their feet, and then went to where the Blessed One was staying, prostrated with their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, many monks said this to the Blessed One: 'Venerable One, we many monks, in the morning, having put on our lower robes and Dharma robes, taking our bowls, went to Rajagriha for alms. Venerable One, as we many monks were wandering for alms in Rajagriha, we heard that Black Elephant Dwelling had offered the precepts and violated them.' The Blessed One spoke to the monks:
