གིས་བྱིན་གྱི་རླབས་རྣམ་པ་ལྔ་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་ཏེ་ཡོངས་སུ་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཀུ་ཤིའི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་དུ་ལྷ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་རབ་བཟང་ཡོངས་སུ་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་སོ་ཞེས་སྒྲ་བསྒྲགས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དེ་ཐོས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་མུ་སྟེགས་པ་གཞན་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་རས་ཀྱི་བ་དན་དག་བསྒྲེང་སྟེ། ལམ་པོ་ཆེ་དང་། སྲང་དང་། བཞི་མདོ་དང་། སུམ་མདོ་རྣམས་སུ་སྒྲ་བསྒྲགས་པ། དགེ་སྦྱོང་གཽ་ཏ་མ་ན་རེ་ཕྱི་རོལ་པའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་དང་བྲམ་ཟེ་མེད་དེ། ཕ་རོལ་སྨྲ་བ་རྣམས་ནི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་ངམ་བྲམ་ཟེས་སྟོང་ངོ་ཞེས་དེ་སྐད་དུ་འཁོར་འདིར་ང་ཡང་དག་པའི་སེང་གེའི་སྒྲ་སྒྲོགས་སོ་ཞེས་ཟེར་ལ། ད་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གི་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་འདི་ཡང་ཡོངས་སུ་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་སོ་ཞེས་ཀུ་ཤིའི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་ཐོག་ཐག་ཏུ་བསྒྲགས་ནས་ཤིང་སཱ་ལ་ཟུང་གི་ཚལ་དུ་དོང་སྟེ་རབ་བཟང་ག་ལ་འདུག་པ་དེར་ཆས་པ་ལས་དེའི་ཐད་དུ་འགྲོ་མ་ནུས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དེ་དག་མཐོང་ནས། ཀྱེ་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་འདིར་ཅི་ལ་འོངས། དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ཅག་གི་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་ཏེ། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དེའི་རུས་བུ་ལ་མཆོད་པ་བྱའོ། །དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། འདི་ནི་ངེད་ཀྱི་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིན་གྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་མ་ཡིན་ནོ། ། ཅི་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་སྐྲ་བྲེགས་ལ་ཆོས་གོས་སྣམ་སྦྱར་གྱོན་པ་མ་མཐོང་ངམ། དེ་དག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ཅག་གིས་ནི་དབྱུག་གུ་གསུམ་དང་། རིལ་བ་སྤྱི་བླུགས་ཐོགས་པ་དེ་ལྟ་བུར་མཐོང་ངོ་། །དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། གལ་ཏེ་འདི་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིན་ཞེ་ན། འདིའི་ཐད་དུ་ཤེག་ལ་མཆོད་པ་གྱིས་ཤིག །དེ་ནས་དེ་ཐོས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་མུ་སྟེགས་ པ་གཞན་དག་རབ་བཟང་གི་ཐད་དུ་འགྲོ་འདོད་པ་ལས་ཆུ་ཆེན་པོས་བསྐོར་བར་མཐོང་ནས་འགྲོ་མ་ནུས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། འདི་ནི་ངེད་ཀྱི་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིན་གྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་མ་ཡིན་ནོ། །འདི་ལྟར་ངེད་ནི་འདིའི་ཐད་དུ་བདེ་བླག་ཏུ་འགྲོ་ནུས་པ་ཡིན་ཏེ། ཁྱེད་ཀྱང་ངེད་ཀྱི་མཐུས་འདིའི་ཐད་དུ་ཤེག་ཅིག་ཅེས་བྱས་ནས་དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་རབ་བཟང་གི་རུས་བུའི་ཐད་དུ་དོང་ངོ་། །དེ་ནས་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། གལ་ཏེ་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་ཚངས་པ་མཚུངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིན་ཞེ་ན། འདིའི་ཁྱོགས་ཁྱེར་ཅིག །དེ་ནས་དེ་ཐོས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་མུ་སྟེགས་པ་གཞན་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུ་དེ་དག་གིས་ཁྱོགས་བསྐུར་ཞེས་བྱས་ན།

Having blessed with five kinds of blessings, he entered into complete Nirvana. Then, in the city of Kushinagar, the gods proclaimed that the Well-Gone One had entered into complete Nirvana. As soon as they heard this, other non-Buddhists, the wandering ascetics, raised cloth banners and proclaimed in the main roads, alleys, crossroads, and triple junctions: 'The ascetic Gautama says that there are no non-Buddhist ascetics and Brahmins. Those who speak of outsiders, the ascetics or Brahmins, are empty.' They said, 'In this cycle, I too will roar the true lion's roar.' They said, 'Now, our pure practitioners of Brahman have also entered into complete Nirvana.' They proclaimed this throughout the city of Kushinagar and then went to the grove of twin Sala trees, heading to where the Well-Gone One was, but they could not go there. Then, the monks saw them and asked, 'What have you come here for?' They said, 'Our pure practitioner of Brahman has entered into complete Nirvana, and we will make offerings to his relics.' The monks said, 'This is our pure practitioner of Brahman, not yours.' 'Have you not seen the one with shorn hair and wearing patched robes?' They said, 'We saw one holding three staffs and a bowl.' The monks said, 'If this is your pure practitioner of Brahman, then come here and make offerings.' As soon as they heard this, other non-Buddhists wanted to go to the Well-Gone One, but they saw that it was surrounded by a great flood and could not go. Then, the monks said, 'This is our pure practitioner of Brahman, not yours.' 'We can easily go there, and you too, by our power, come here.' Having said this, they all went to the relics of the Well-Gone One. Then, the monks said, 'If this is your pure practitioner of Brahman, then carry this coffin.' As soon as they heard this, the other non-Buddhist wandering ascetics said to carry the coffin.

Then other non-Buddhists tried to light the fire for burning the bones, but they were unable to light it. Then the monks said, "This is our fellow practitioner of the pure life. We will light the fire for burning the bones." Having said this, the monks lit the fire for burning the bones. After the fire for burning the bones was lit, they said again, "If this is your fellow practitioner of the pure life, then extinguish the fire for burning the bones with milk." Then other non-Buddhists tried to extinguish the fire for burning the bones, but they were unable to extinguish it. Then the monks said, "This is our fellow practitioner of the pure life. We will extinguish the fire for burning the bones." Having said this, the monks extinguished the fire for burning the bones. After the fire was extinguished, they said again, "If this is your fellow practitioner of the pure life, then pick up these bones and make offerings." Then all the other non-Buddhists tried to pick up the bones, but they could not see the bones.
