is bodily fatigue. The Sugata is because of bodily fatigue. Do not harm the Tathagata, it was said. Then, at that time, the Blessed One disappeared from among the gods of the Thirty-Three and entered the sleeping quarters. Then, the Blessed One, with his pure and transcendent divine ear, heard the Venerable Ananda and the wanderer Lava Sangha and similar words. Having heard, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, let him in. Do not stop the wanderer Lava Sangha from entering, allow him to ask whatever he wishes. That is because this is the last conversation I will have with other non-Buddhist wanderers. Just like that, the wanderer Lava Sangha is the last one I have ordained with "Bhikkhu, come." Then, the Blessed One opened the opportunity, and the wanderer Lava Sangha felt happy and satisfied, rejoiced and was delighted, and joy and happiness arose. Then he went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, he engaged in various teachings that were pleasing and satisfying with the Blessed One, and then sat on one side. Having sat on one side, the wanderer Lava Sangha said to the Blessed One: O Gautama, in the world there are various different non-Buddhist places, like this: Purana Kassapa, Makkhali Gosala, Sanjaya Belatthiputta, Ajita Kesakambali, Pakudha Kaccayana, and Nigantha Nataputta, each of whom adheres to their own vows. Then, the Blessed One at that time spoke the verses: Lava Sangha, when I was twenty-nine years old, I went forth in order to seek the good. Lava Sangha, since I went forth, until the age of fifty, I have practiced meditation. I have practiced all kinds of moral discipline, footprints, and wisdom, and also a focused mind. Even just speaking of one aspect of the Dharma that is in accordance with reason, other non-Buddhist ascetics do not have it. Lava Sangha, in whatever Dharma and discipline there is no Noble Eightfold Path,

In that, there is no first ascetic. In that, there is no second ascetic, no third, and no fourth. In whatever well-spoken discipline there is the Noble Eightfold Path, in that there is the first ascetic, the second, the third, and the fourth. Therefore, outside of this, there are no other ascetics or Brahmins. The ascetics or Brahmins who refute others are empty. I roar the lion's roar in this assembly, thus he spoke. When this category of Dharma was spoken, the wanderer Rabsang, in all dharmas, the eye of Dharma was without dust, stainless, and completely pure. The wanderer saw the Dharma, attained the Dharma, realized the Dharma, reached the depths of the Dharma, transcended doubt, transcended hesitation, did not rely on others, was not deceived by others, and having gained fearlessness in the teachings of the Teacher, arose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and bowed with palms joined towards where the Blessed One was. He said to the venerable Ananda: "Venerable Ananda has gained well. Venerable Ananda, the great teacher has empowered you as the attendant of the great teacher. I also have gained well, if I can obtain ordination and full ordination in the well-spoken discipline, and obtain the nature of a Bhikshu, I will also practice the holy life in the presence of the Blessed One." Thus he said. Then, the venerable Ananda arose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and bowed with palms joined towards where the Blessed One was. He said to the Blessed One: "Venerable One, if this wanderer can obtain ordination and full ordination in the well-spoken discipline, and become a Bhikshu, I request the Blessed One to ordain him out of compassion." Then, the Blessed One said to the wanderer Rabsang: "Come, Bhikshu! Practice the holy life!" As soon as he heard those words, his hair and beard were shaved off, as if he were seven days old. He wore the Dharma robe, and his conduct was like that of one who had received full ordination.

From the ground, it appeared as if he were a hundred years old. He was holding a begging bowl and a water pot in his hands. Here it is said: The Tathagata commanded with the words "Come here." That one had his hair shaved and wore a kasaya robe on his body. The Buddha distributed clothes with his mind, and quickly subdued his senses and dwelled. Then, the Bhagavan prophesied to him, and he also, through diligence, practice, and effort, abandoned all defilements and directly realized the state of an Arhat. That Arhat, having become free from the desires of the three realms, regarding gold and gravel as equal, possessing a mind like the sky and the palm of the hand, cool like sandalwood soaked in water, having destroyed the shell of the egg with wisdom, having obtained wisdom, supernormal powers, and individual perfect knowledge, not looking at the gains, attachments, and honors of existence, became a place of worship, remembrance, and reverence for the gods and their retinues. Then, the venerable Subhadra thought to himself: "It is not my part to see the Teacher pass into complete Nirvana. Rather, I will first bless my mother with five blessings, and then pass into complete Nirvana before that." May those who practice the same as Brahma see me in the guise of a monk. May other non-Buddhists see me in the guise of a non-Buddhist. May those who practice the same as Brahma be able to easily come to me. May other non-Buddhists see me as surrounded by a great flood. May those who practice the same as Brahma be able to carry my bones in a basket. May those outside of this not be able to carry them, even by the hundreds or thousands. May those who practice the same as Brahma be able to light the fire that burns my bones. May those outside of this not be able to light it, even by the hundreds or thousands. May those who practice the same as Brahma be able to see my bones, and having seen them, may they make offerings to the bones. May other non-Buddhists not see them. Having said this, the venerable Subhadra
