There was a beggar, a painter, an offerer, and one who was revered by the Arhats. He lived by the shore of Lake Madrosa during the day. There, the gods and nagas also respected him, regarded him as a guru, painted and offered to him. Sometimes, he would stay and live by the shore of Lake Madrosa during the day. Sometimes, he would go from Lake Madrosa to a grove of Udumbara trees not far away and reside there. Then, when the Bodhisattva was born, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the King of the Gandharvas, Rabga: Rabga, the Bodhisattva has been born, come here, let us strive to make offerings to him. Rabga said: Kauśika (梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,Literal meaning: Kausika, i.e., Indra), I have already begun composing a song, please allow me to finish it first, and then I will come. Then, due to the greatness of the Bodhisattva, the Udumbara flowers in the Udumbara grove bloomed. Then, the wandering ascetic Rabzang saw the blooming Udumbara flowers, and as soon as he saw them, he was filled with joy and thought: In the past, the old wandering ascetics, who were old and frail, I heard from the great scholars of the sect that the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, and the Chakravartin kings, and the Udumbara flowers, only appear once in a hundred years. Now, because of my merit, the Udumbara flowers in this Udumbara grove have also bloomed. Then, when the Bodhisattva saw the old man, the sick man, and the dead man, and then took refuge in the forest, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the King of the Gandharvas, Rabga: Rabga, the Bodhisattva has taken refuge in the forest after seeing the old man, the sick man, and the dead man, we should now strive to make offerings to him. Rabga said: Kauśika (梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,Literal meaning: Kausika, i.e., Indra), I have already begun composing a song, please allow me to finish it first, and then I will come. Then, when the Bodhisattva attained unsurpassed wisdom, recited it three times, and duly turned the twelve-aspect wheel of Dharma.

At that time, Indra again said to the Gandharva King Delightful Joy: "Delightful Joy, the Bhagavan has attained unsurpassed wisdom and intends to proclaim it three times, turning the twelve aspects of the Wheel of Dharma. Let us go together to listen to the Dharma." Delightful Joy said: "Kauśika, I have already composed songs before. Let me finish them for now, and I will come later." At that time, when the Bhagavan proclaimed it three times, turning the twelve aspects of the Wheel of Dharma, those Udumbara groves were filled with flowers everywhere. Therefore, many yojanas were filled with fragrance. Therefore, the wandering mendicant Good Protector was even more delighted, thinking, "These are all due to my merit." At that time, when the Bhagavan proclaimed it three times, turning the twelve aspects of the Wheel of Dharma according to the Dharma, he tamed the five disciples and the near five disciples, and fifty arrogant children in the village. He went to the forest of silk-cotton trees and established the sixty fathers of the Good Clan in the truths. He went to the village of the army and established the two daughters, Delightful Woman and Delightful Strength, who lived in the village, in the truths. He went to Gaya and completely ordained a thousand ascetics with matted hair, ordaining them fully. He went to the stupa on the summit of Gaya Mountain and convinced those thousand monks with three kinds of miracles, establishing them in the ultimate permanence, the unsurpassed accomplishment, and the blissful Nirvana. He went to the Bamboo Grove and, together with King Bimbisara of Magadha, eighty thousand gods, and countless Brahmins and householders of Magadha, established them in the truths. He went to Rajagriha and accepted the Mango Grove, ordaining Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, along with two hundred and fifty attendants, ordaining them fully. He went to Shravasti and accepted the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, displayed great miracles, and completely ordained the novice Encourager, who also abandoned all defilements.

Then, that tonsured Shramanera manifested himself, and by means of his miraculous powers, he would fly and take untimely flowers and fruits from various places, offering them to the Khenpo and the Sangha. Then one day, he went to the shore of Lake Matapana and was delighted there. He established a midday residence there, but the Parivrajaka Subhadra said, "Friend, this is my midday residence, do not stay here!" The Shramanera Kula said, "This is common to all." The Parivrajaka Subhadra said, "Compete with me in miraculous powers! Then whichever of us two wins, that place will be his midday residence." Then the two of them began to display miraculous powers, and there the Shramanera Kula defeated the Parivrajaka Subhadra, and he became a foreigner and went to live in the Udumbara grove. There, when the Bhagavan had completed all the Buddha's activities and went to the city of Kushinagar, he entered the final bed and remained there. Then, there the Bhagavan thought, "Now the Tathagata has only two to be tamed, the Parivrajaka Subhadra and the Gandharva King Rati." Then the Bhagavan thought again, "The Parivrajaka Subhadra is easy for me to tame, but the Gandharva King Rati is arrogant and reckless, and he will not come to me. I myself should go to him." Then the Bhagavan left an emanation there and disappeared from the grove of twin Sala trees, went to the Thirty-three Gods, and came to the gate of the palace of the Gandharva King Rati. There, the Bhagavan thought, "First I must break his pride, and then he will be fit to be a vessel for the truths." Then, in order to tame him, the Bhagavan transformed himself into a Gandharva King, carrying a hollow Vaidurya lute, and stood at the gate of the Gandharva King Rati, and sent a message saying, "There is a Gandharva King standing at the gate, and he wants to play the lute with you." Then, as soon as the Gandharva King Rati heard this,
