ཤེགས་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་གླང་དེའི་རྒྱུ་མ་རྣམས་ཕྱིར་ལྟོའི་ནང་དུ་བཅུག་སྟེ། རྨ་ཁ་དྲུབས་ནས་རྩྭ་དང་ཆུ་ཡང་བྱིན་ཏེ་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། བཞིན་བཟངས་འདི་ལྟར་འདུ་བྱེད་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་མི་རྟག་གོ །ཆོས་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་བདག་མེད་དོ། །མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ནི་ཞི་བའོ། །ང་ལ་སེམས་དགའ་བར་གྱིས་ཤིག་དང་དུད་འགྲོའི་སྐྱེ་གནས་དང་བྲལ་བར་འགྱུར་ཡང་སྲིད་དོ་ཞེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་དེ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་སེམས་དགའ་བར་གྱུར་ཏེ། ཤི་འཕོས་ནས་དུས་ལས་འདས་ཏེ་མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་དེ་ཉིད་དུ་ཚོང་དཔོན་ཞིག་གི་ཁྱིམ་དུ་ཉིང་མཚམས་སྦྱར་ནས། དེ་ཟླ་བ་དགུའམ་བཅུ་ལོན་པ་དང་ཁྱེའུ་གཟུགས་བཟང་ཞིང་བལྟ་ན་སྡུག་ལ་མཛེས་པ་ཞིག་བཙས་ནས། དེའི་བཙས་སྟོན་རྒྱས་པར་བྱས་ཏེ། རིགས་དང་འཐུན་པར་མིང་བཏགས་ནས། འོ་མ་དང་ཞོ་དང་མར་དང་ཞུན་མར་དང་མར་གྱི་ཉིང་གུ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བསྐྱེད་བསྲིངས་ཏེ། དེ་གང་གི་ཚེ་ལོ་བདུན་ལོན་པར་གྱུར་པ་དེའི་ཚེ། དེས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་བསྟན་པ་ལ་དད་པ་རྙེད་ནས། དེས་ཕ་མ་གཉིས་ལ་གསོལ་ཏེ་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ནས། དེས་ལོ་བདུན་ལོན་པ་ཁོ་ན་ཉིད་ན་བརྩོན་པ་དང་བསྒྲུབ་པ་དང་འབད་པས་ཉོན་མོངས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་སྤངས་ནས་དེས་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་བྱས་ཏེ་དེས་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཐོབ་ནས་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་གྱིས་འགྲོ་ཞིང་། གནས་གཞན་དང་གཞན་དག་ནས་ལོ་མའི་ནང་དུ་མེ་ཏོག་དང་འབྲས་བུ་རྣམས་བཅུག་སྟེ། ཁྱེར་ཏེ་འོང་ཞིང་དགེ་འདུན་ལ་འབུལ་བར་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དེ་མཐོང་ནས་ཡ་མཚན་དུ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །ཡ་མཚན་དུ་གྱུར་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་གསོལ་པ། བཙུན་པ་དགེ་ཚུལ་པ་འདིས་ལོ་བདུན་ལོན་ལགས་ན་ཡོན་ཏན་འདི་ལྟ་བུ་རྟོགས་པ་ལ་གཟིགས། དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ལ་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་གླང་གི་རྒྱུ་མ་ངས་ལྟོར་བཅུག་ནས་ཆོས་ཚིག་གསུམ་བསྟན་པ་དེ་མཐོང་ངམ། གསོལ་པ། བཙུན་པ་མཐོང་ལགས་སོ། །བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། དེ་ང་ལ་སེམས་དགའ་བར་བྱས་ནས་ཤི་འཕོས་ཏེ་དུས་ལས་འདས་ནས། མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་འདི་ཉིད་དུ་ཚོང་དཔོན་གྱི་ཁྱིམ་དུ་སྐྱེས་ནས། དེ་ངའི་བསྟན་པ་ལ་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་སྟེ། ལོ་བདུན་ལོན་པ་ཁོ་ན་ན་ཉོན་མོངས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་སྤངས་ནས་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་བྱས་སོ། །གསོལ་པ། བཙུན་པ་དགེ་ཚུལ་ཕ་འདིས་ལས་ཅི་ཞིག་བགྱིས་ན་ལས་དེའི་རྣམ་པར་སྨིན་པས་གླང་དུ་སྐྱེས་ལགས་ལས་ཅི་བགྱིས་ན་ལས་དེའི་རྣམ་པར་སྨིན་པས། དེ་ནས་ཤི་འཕོས་ནས་མིར་སྐྱེས་ལ་འདིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་མཉེས་

After departing, the Blessed One put the intestines of that ox back into its stomach, sewed up the wound, and gave it grass and water, saying: Good sir, know that all conditioned things are impermanent. All dharmas are without self. Nirvana is peace. Make my mind happy, and you may be separated from the animal realm. Thus he spoke. Then, that ox became happy in mind towards the Blessed One. After dying and passing away, it took rebirth in the house of a merchant in that very place of Shravasti (mnyan du yod pa). When it was nine or ten months old, a boy was born, handsome, pleasing to behold, and beautiful. They held a grand celebration of his birth, gave him a name in accordance with his lineage, and raised him with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of butter. When he turned seven years old, he gained faith in the teachings of the Blessed One. He asked his parents and went forth, and at the mere age of seven, through diligence, practice, and effort, he abandoned all afflictions and realized Arhatship. Having attained Arhatship, he traveled by means of miraculous powers, and from various places, he would put flowers and fruits in leaves, bring them, and offer them to the Sangha. Then the monks saw him and were amazed. Amazed, they reported to the Blessed One: Venerable one, this novice is only seven years old, yet look at the qualities he has realized. Then the Blessed One said to the monks: Did you see me put the intestines of the ox back into its stomach and teach three lines of Dharma? They replied: Venerable one, we saw it. He said: He made my mind happy and died, and after passing away, he was born into this merchant's house in Shravasti (mnyan du yod pa). He went forth into my teachings, and at the mere age of seven, he abandoned all afflictions and realized Arhatship. They reported: Venerable one, what karma did this novice commit that he was born as an ox as a result of that karma? And what karma did he commit that he was born as a human after death and is able to please the Blessed One?

做了之后，不要不高兴，要战胜那些寿命百岁的人们，断除一切烦恼，亲自证得阿罗汉果位。世尊开示说：诸比丘，此人做了那个业并积累了它。诸比丘，过去世，在这个贤劫中，当众生的寿命达到两万岁时，圆满正等觉的佛陀，具有明行足，善逝，世间解，调御丈夫，无上士，天人师，佛世尊，名为光明佛出世。他在其教法中出家，成为负责供水的比丘。当他用公用的勺子为僧众分水时，另一位阿罗汉比丘分心了。当他与那人相遇时，负责供水者的勺子从手中滑落并摔碎了。他生气地说：这个人像头笨牛一样又大又迟钝。阿罗汉听到那句话后，将他带到一边说：尊者，你知道我是谁，你是谁吗？他说：我知道，你也是出家人，我也是出家人。他说：哦，我们出家虽然相似，但你是被一切束缚所束缚的凡夫，而我是从一切束缚中解脱的人。你说了粗暴的话，请承认错误并忏悔。你将在轮回中流转，并获得不悦意的业果。听到这些话后，那位比丘生起了极大的后悔心。他向那位比丘的双脚顶礼并请求宽恕，并在一生中行持梵行，临终时发愿：我说了如此粗暴的话，冒犯了如此殊胜的应供处，愿这个业不要成熟在我身上。虽然我一生中行持梵行，但没有获得任何功德的积累，愿我能成为光明佛为婆罗门童子预言的那位佛世尊。

Having done so, do not be displeased, and having defeated those who live to be a hundred years old, having abandoned all afflictions, may you personally realize the state of an Arhat. The Blessed One said: Monks, this one has done and accumulated that action. Monks, in the past, in this very fortunate kalpa, when the life span of beings was twenty thousand years, the perfectly complete Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, the Knower of the World, the Tamer of Beings, the unsurpassed Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Blessed One, named Light Protector appeared in the world. He went forth into his teachings and became a monk in charge of water. As he was distributing water to the Sangha with a communal ladle, another Arhat monk became distracted. When he met that person, the ladle of the one in charge of water slipped from his hand and broke. He became angry and said to the Arhat: This one is as big and insensitive as a dumb ox. When the Arhat heard that word, he took him aside and said: Venerable one, do you know who I am and who you are? He said: I know, you are also a renunciate, and I am also a renunciate. He said: Oh, although we renunciates are similar, you are an ordinary person bound by all bonds, and I am liberated from all bonds. You have spoken harsh words, please confess your fault and apologize. You will wander in samsara and obtain the unpleasant results of karma. Having heard that, the monk felt great remorse. He prostrated at the feet of that monk and asked for forgiveness, and having practiced celibacy for one lifetime, he made a prayer at the time of death: May this action of mine, having spoken such harsh words to such a supreme object of offering, not ripen upon me. Although I have practiced celibacy for one lifetime, I have not obtained any accumulation of qualities, may I become the Buddha, the Blessed One, who was prophesied by the Buddha Light Protector to the Brahmin boy.
