Now, having renounced all afflictions by ordaining in the Dharma, he directly realized the state of an Arhat. The parents, having made offerings to that stupa and made prayers, the ripening of that action caused them to be born wherever they were born, into wealthy, rich, and prosperous families. Relying solely on this son, these two pleased me, and did not displease me. I also ordained in his Dharma, renounced all afflictions, and directly realized the state of an Arhat. Furthermore, in the Dharma of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, all three of these also ordained. There, these practiced celibacy for a lifetime, fully matured their faculties, and therefore are now liberated. The Hundred Karmas, Volume Nineteen. The story called "Born with the Gods": In the land of Kapilavastu, there was a king named Lion Jaw. In the place called Divine Vision, there was a king named Good Awareness, and the two were friendly and intimate. Then, King Lion Jaw longed for this: 'Alas, if a Chakravartin king were to arise in my lineage, how wonderful it would be!' Eventually, he had four sons: Shuddhodana, White Rice, Ambrosia Rice, and Husk Rice. He also had four daughters: Pure Mother, White Mother Mother, Ambrosia Mother Mother, and White Mother. Then, King Good Awareness longed for this: 'Alas, if I could become related to Lion Jaw through marriage, how wonderful it would be!' Then, he also played and rejoiced with the queen, and she gave birth to a son, who was named Born with the Gods. Then, when he grew up, he had the boy learn to read. Among the royal families, the kings who were crowned from the crown of their heads, their skillful arts and their activities were different, as follows: riding elephants, riding horses, holding weapons, throwing forward, throwing backward, how to act on the battlefield, holding iron hooks, holding ropes, shooting large arrows, throwing single-pointed vajras, stabbing sharp weapons,

He also learned to throw the wheel, cut, shoot, grasp with his hands, move his feet, protect his head, throw from a distance, throw with sound, throw accurately, hit the target without being devoured by demons, and attack fiercely. He became proficient in five areas, and there was no one like him in the world. Then, one day, King Lektok had two daughters. One was named Illusion. The other was named Great Illusion. These two daughters were prophesied by Brahmin astrologers. One would give birth to a Chakravartin king. The other would give birth to a young man with special marks. Thus it was prophesied. Then, King Suddhodana heard this and took them both as his consorts. Then, one day, the Bodhisattva passed away from the heavenly realm of Tushita and was conceived in his mother's womb. When nine or ten months were completed, a prince was born. When he grew up, he began to study writing and became proficient in it. He also understood all the treatises. He also became proficient in all forms of dance, song, and musical instruments. Then, King Suddhodana thought: Now I should have the young man learn archery. So he asked the Shakya people: Who is the best archery teacher here? Who should he learn from so that the young man can become proficient in archery? The Shakya people replied: O God, let alone other archery teachers, the son of King Lektok, named Deva-protected, is the best archery teacher. There is no one like him in the world. Then, as soon as King Suddhodana heard this, he sent a messenger to invite Deva-protected and said: Deva-protected, teach this young man archery! Deva-protected replied: I will do as the gods intend. Thus, he began to teach the young man archery. He taught the Bodhisattva everything that should be done, and the Bodhisattva learned everything. The Bodhisattva also taught him other methods that Deva-protected was not good at. Then, Deva-protected saw the Bodhisattva's efforts and unprecedented methods and was amazed.

Having learned those methods of throwing, he learned from the Bodhisattva. When the Bodhisattva saw the old, the sick, and the dead, When he settled in the forest, he went with the deity to Vaishali and stayed there, and the people of Vaishali gave him five hundred youths, saying, "Teach these youths these five places." Before long, he taught the five hundred youths how to throw, and they became proficient in the five places. Then, they developed such arrogance, thinking, "No one can compare to us in appearance, strength, and knowledge, let alone surpass us." Then, the one with the deity said to them, "Children, do not be arrogant! You are not even equal to the dust at the feet of the youth born among the Shakyas, let alone equal in appearance, strength, or knowledge." Having heard this, those youths immediately wanted to see him, saying, "Let us go and see that youth." Then, the one with the deity said, "That youth lives in the forest, and now you will not be able to see him." In the meantime, the Blessed One was doing the work of taming those who were to be tamed, and gradually went to Vaishali. Then, the one with the deity heard this and told the youths. Having heard this, the five hundred youths became even more eager to see him, and together with the deity, they went to where the Blessed One was. Those five hundred youths saw the Blessed One, beautiful and pleasing, with senses calmed, mind calmed, supremely tamed, and completely peaceful, blazing with glory and splendor like a golden stupa. Having seen this, their arrogance about their appearance disappeared. They thought, "He is much superior to us in appearance, but not necessarily in strength." So, they went to where the Blessed One was, Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat before him. Then, the Blessed One thought, "I must break the pride of these people." Then, the Blessed One
