Again, he went to that solitary village. Then one day, that woman became pregnant, and after nine or ten months, when she was about to give birth, the craftsman went to another country for some business, and after that, the child could no longer go to his own home. That girl was also scolded by her parents-in-law, who said, "How did you do such a wrong thing?" And the girl said, "The master himself did it." The householder said, "My son has been gone for many years, how did he do this?" Then the girl told them the story in detail, and they both said, "What you say is not true." Then, complaining and thinking that she had committed a crime, they drove her out of the house. Then she came from Varanasi, left her father's house, and went on and on until she came to a solitary village. She went there and left the child on the side of the road. That night, she gave birth to a child, and because she could not bear the pain, she was unconscious. Not far from there lived a householder. In his house, there was a dog named 'Appearance' (འབྱུང་པོ།). The dog went to the side of the road and saw the child. While the woman was unconscious, the dog picked up the child and went back to his own house. The householder also saw the child, who was good-looking, cute, and beautiful. As soon as he saw him, he thought, "Rather than having a bad son, it is better to adopt someone else's son as my own. And since I have neither a son nor a daughter, I should take this child and raise him, and he will become my son." Thinking this, he said to his wife, "Good woman, you should know that rather than having a bad son, it is better to adopt someone else's son as my own. Since we two have neither a son nor a daughter, let us raise this child and let him become our son. You hold him in your lap, and I will hold a birth celebration for him." After saying this, he put the child in the woman's lap. The householder beat the drum and began to hold a birth celebration for the child. Then, the former woman, when her pain subsided, she stood up and said she wanted to hold the child, but the child was nowhere to be seen. The next day, she asked many people living nearby, "Have you seen a child?" There, no one

Those people said to her, "A dog named 'Demon' belonging to a certain household took a child and went to that house." Then that woman instructed another woman, sending her to that house, saying, "Go and see if that child is dead or not." Then that woman went there and saw that the child had been taken by that household and made into meat, and that woman returned and reported it. Then the mother thought, "If that child and both of us become miserable, that won't do. It's better to let that child stay here for a while." Thinking this, she went and met some travelers, and she joined those travelers. As a result, those travelers were robbed by savages, and the woman was taken by the savage chief to his own house, intending to marry her. That very night, she slept with him. The woman thought, "What should I do so that he cannot seize me?" Thinking this, she disheveled her hair, wore a blue dress, smeared her mouth and teeth with red clay, took a sword, and went into the inner room, sitting there. That man also went to that inner room, thinking, "I will enjoy pleasure with that woman." The woman, holding the sword, rushed at him, saying, "You won't escape anywhere now!" The man, terrified and trembling, prostrated at her feet, pleading, "Kind lady, please grant me the gift of life!" Then that woman said, "There is one way for you to live. If from now on you do not treat me with desire and do not reveal my affairs to anyone, you can live." The savage chief said, "I will do as you please." He swore an oath of faith, and that woman stayed in that house. Then the savage chief thought, "When can I support her? I must find a way to sell her." So, he sold her to a prostitute, and the prostitute instructed her, saying, "Good girl, from now on stay here and be a prostitute..."

So it was done. Then the woman said, "What do I need a prostitute for? I dare not touch another man." The prostitute said, "I have sold all my possessions and bought you for that reason. If not, what do I need you for?" Then the woman thought, "I need to use the same method here." Thinking so, she transformed into the appearance of a Rakshasi, ran to the prostitute, and said, "If the Rakshasi named 'Forest Cave' enters your house, are you still alive?" The woman was terrified and trembled, prostrated at her feet, and said, "Please grant me the gift of life!" Then the woman said, "There is one way for you to live. If you let me stay here, don't let me do such things, and don't tell anyone about me, you can live." The prostitute said, "I will do as you please." Then she swore an oath of belief and let her go. Then it was rumored everywhere that the Rakshasi of the Forest Cave lived in the house of a certain prostitute. Because of fear, no one dared to go to that prostitute's house anymore. Then the prostitute thought, "What can I do to drive her out of the house?" Then her son grew up, and the householder named him 'Bhuta' (Ghost). When he grew up, he learned writing, arithmetic, storytelling, manual calculation, subtraction, hiding, arranging, clothing appraisal, gem appraisal, treasure appraisal, spice appraisal, medicine appraisal, elephant appraisal, horse appraisal, and weapon appraisal. He was proficient in writing, skilled in reading, intelligent, decisive in action, meticulous, and proficient in eight types of appraisal. Then one day, the father who raised the boy died. The boy thought, "Now that my father has died, I must take on the livelihood of this house." So he took goods and went to other places, and eventually arrived at the place where his mother lived. He went to that city and placed the goods in a place near the prostitute's house.
