In the past, during this fortunate kalpa, when the lifespan of beings reached twenty thousand years, the perfectly complete Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, the Knower of the World, the Tamer of Beings, the unsurpassed Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha Bhagavan named Light Protector appeared in the world. At that time, a Brahmin lived in Varanasi. Later, his wife became pregnant, and after nine or ten months, she gave birth to a boy. When he grew up, he learned letters, the conduct and behavior of Brahmins, and Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ॐ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), and Bho (藏文:བྷོ་,梵文天城体:भो,梵文罗马拟音:bho,汉语字面意思:勃), as well as cleanliness, rituals, taking ashes, holding pills, the explanation of the Vedas, the sacrifice of the Vedas, the poetry of the Vedas, the politics of the Vedas, performing sacrifices, having others perform sacrifices, giving and receiving, and the methods of reciting and teaching recitation. He became a Brahmin skilled in six activities, and eventually became proficient in eighteen fields of knowledge. Then, his father developed great joy in the Buddha, great joy in the Dharma and the Sangha, and took refuge and the precepts. Later, he died, passed away, and was born in the realm of the gods. The Brahmin boy was very sad and wailed, beating his chest, crying out, "Father! Father!" and wandering around. Then his father sensed it, went to him, and said, "Son, I am no longer in need of sorrow, do not grieve." The boy said, "Who are you?" He said, "I am your father." The boy said, "Where were you born?" He said, "Born in the realm of the gods." The boy said, "What actions did you do?" He said, "I attended to the perfectly complete Buddha Light Protector and protected the refuge and the precepts. Now, instead of grieving for me, grieve for yourself, and go take refuge in the perfectly complete Buddha Light Protector, and all your good will arise from that." Having said this, the son of the gods...

It also became light. That Brahmin boy also listened to his father's words and went forth in the teaching of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Protector. He practiced celibacy for one lifetime, and at the time of death, he made a prayer: "Thus, I have practiced celibacy for one lifetime in the teaching of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Protector, but I have not obtained any accumulation of merit. May I please the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light Protector's prophesied Brahmin boy teacher, and may I not displease him. Having gone forth in that very teaching, having abandoned all defilements, may I realize the state of Arhat." Monks, what do you think? At that time, the father of the Brahmin boy was this very Brahmin. At that time, the one who became the son was this very son. At that time, he also relied on his father and gained faith, and practiced celibacy for one lifetime. Now, he also relies on that very father and gains faith, and having gone forth in my teaching, having abandoned all defilements, he has realized the state of Arhat. The second verse of the summary.
