After she left, that girl saw the Buddha Bhagavan, who was beautiful and pleasing, with subdued senses, a peaceful mind, extremely gentle and completely tranquil, shining like a golden pillar. Having seen him, the girl was overjoyed. Being joyful, she thought: 'If even venerating the stupas of his hair and nails would result in great fruit, what need is there to mention doing so to him himself? How could it not result in great fruit?' Thinking this, she was delighted, took the garment, went to where the Bhagavan was, offered the garment to the Bhagavan, folded her palms, and sat contemplating the Bhagavan. Then, with her mind pleased with the Bhagavan, she died, passed beyond her time, and in that same Shravasti, she took rebirth in the womb of the chief wife in the house of a merchant. After nine or ten months, she gave birth to a golden-colored girl. They celebrated her birth extensively and discussed what name to give the girl. This girl was well-formed, beautiful to look at, and lovely, and because she was golden in color, they said, 'Therefore, let this girl's name be Golden-Colored.' Then the golden-colored girl was raised and nurtured with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of ghee. When she was born and reached the age of seven, she developed faith in the teachings of the Bhagavan, and she requested her parents to renounce the world in the teachings of the Bhagavan, abandoning all afflictions, and directly realized the state of an Arhat, becoming great in miraculous powers and strength. Then, having attained the state of an Arhat, she thought, 'From where did I die and take rebirth here?' She saw that in that same Shravasti, she had been born as a daughter of a low caste, possessing eighteen kinds of unsightly features. There, relying on the noble Ananda, I abandoned the birthplace of a low caste and was born here. She realized that the noble Ananda was the one who had done me a kindness, so she always went there and showed respect. Then the monks asked the Buddha Bhagavan, 'Venerable Golden-Colored, what deeds did she perform?'

Therefore, the maturation of that karma caused her to be born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous lineage, and she became golden in color. The Blessed One was also pleased with this, and not displeased. She renounced the world in the Blessed One's teachings, abandoned all defilements, and personally realized the state of an Arhat. The Blessed One said: Monks, have you seen that in a certain place near Shravasti, there lives a daughter of a bad lineage, possessing eighteen kinds of ugliness? Blessed One, I have seen her. She died from there and was reborn here. She offered sesame oil ointment, mixed incense ointment, saffron ointment, and incense ointment to the stupa of hair and nails, and offered me clothes, making my mind happy. After dying, due to the maturation of that karma, she is now born into a wealthy, rich, and prosperous lineage, and has become beautiful in form, pleasing to the eye, and beautiful, with a golden color. Venerable one, what karma did this girl commit, that the maturation of that karma caused her to be born into a bad lineage and possess eighteen kinds of ugliness? The Blessed One said: Monks, this is the karma she herself did and accumulated. Monks, in the distant past, in this very fortunate eon, when the lifespan of beings was twenty thousand years, there appeared a fully enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, a Sugata, a knower of the world, a guide for those who need to be tamed, unsurpassed, a teacher of gods and humans, a Buddha, the Blessed One named Light Protector (འོད་སྲུང་།), at that time in Varanasi (བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱི།) there lived a householder who, through circumstances, took a wife. He played, rejoiced, and enjoyed himself with her, and later, his wife became pregnant. After nine or ten months, she gave birth to a beautiful, pleasing, and lovely daughter, and held a grand birth celebration for her, giving her a name that suited her lineage, and raised her with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of ghee. When she grew up, she truthfully

Having gained faith in the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light-Protector, she asked her parents and went forth into the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light-Protector. She became quarrelsome and foul-mouthed. Arrogant with the pride of beauty, youth, power, and lineage, she mocked many nuns, both learners and non-learners, with ugly physical and verbal actions. She even spoke words like "low-born." Later, she felt remorse. Then, she lived a life of celibacy and made a prayer: 'Thus, although I have lived a life of celibacy in the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light-Protector, I have not gained any accumulation of merit. May I please the Buddha, the Blessed One, whom the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light-Protector prophesied would be the Brahmin boy who would be the lama. May I not displease him. May I go forth into his teachings alone, abandon all defilements, and realize the state of an Arhat. May the fruit of the sinful action of speaking harsh words to those who practice celibacy not ripen for me.' Monks, what do you think? The nun who went forth into the teachings of the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light-Protector at that time was this very ugly one. There, arrogant with the pride of beauty, youth, power, and lineage, she mocked many nuns in an ugly manner with physical actions, and due to the ripening of the karma of speaking the word "low-born," wherever she was born, she was born into a low-born family and possessed eighteen kinds of ugliness. Then, having lived a life of celibacy, she made a prayer at the time of death: May I please the Buddha, the Blessed One, whom the Fully Enlightened Buddha Light-Protector prophesied would be the Brahmin boy who would be the lama. May I not displease him. May I go forth into his teachings alone, abandon all defilements, and realize the state of an Arhat.
