Then he persuaded them to go and search in villages, towns, cities, countryside, and the king's palace. The minister's son, the darkness of the lineage, saw King Udayana of Vatsa coming from afar. Having seen him, he was overjoyed and went to King Udayana of Vatsa, inquired about his health, and asked, "Where has the god gone?" Then King Udayana of Vatsa recounted in detail what had happened. The minister's son, the darkness of the lineage, said, "O god, everything that the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja prophesied has come to pass." Having heard this, the king immediately became very fond of the sthavira and thought, "For a while, I will postpone going to the city and will attend to the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja himself." So, instead of going to Kauśāmbī, he went to the garden of the householder Dhanika. He went by chariot as far as the ground where one should go by chariot, then he got off the chariot and went on foot into the garden. He went to the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja, prostrated himself at the feet of the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja, and sat down in front of him to listen to the Dharma. The sthavira also taught him the Dharma that was appropriate for him. Then King Udayana of Vatsa, knowing that the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja had finished speaking, rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, and, with his palms joined, bowed to the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja and said, "O venerable one, may the Saṃgha of monks grant me the favor of accepting my meal for seven days." Then the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja remained silent, indicating his consent. Then King Udayana of Vatsa, knowing that the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja's silence meant consent, rose from his seat, prostrated himself at his feet, and then departed from the presence of the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja. Then for seven days, he satisfied the venerable Piṇḍola Bharadvāja and his retinue with many pure and excellent foods, and on the last day, he offered each of them a pair of cloths, for the purpose of listening to the Dharma.

Then, King Udayana of Vatsa heard that the Blessed One was wandering in the lotus field and had arrived in Kauśāmbī, and was staying in the Ghosila Park, the monastery of the householder Ghoṣila in Kauśāmbī. Having heard this, King Udayana of Vatsa went to where the Blessed One was in Gālava, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the Blessed One correctly instructed King Udayana of Vatsa with a Dharma talk, made him correctly grasp it, correctly praised him, and made him correctly delighted. Then, King Udayana of Vatsa, knowing that the Blessed One's talk was finished, got up from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, and bowed with his palms joined together towards the Gālava where the Blessed One was, and said this to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, please allow me and the Saṅgha of monks to accept robes, food, bedding, seats, medicine, and medical supplies from me for three months." Then, the Blessed One remained silent, thus granting King Udayana of Vatsa's request. Then, King Udayana of Vatsa, knowing that the Blessed One had granted his request by remaining silent, prepared all the necessary items in the Ghosila Park, the monastery of the householder Ghoṣila, and offered them to the Buddha and so on.
