བདག་ཀྱང་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཐད་དུ་ཚངས་པར་སྤྱོད་པ་སྤྱད་པར་འཚལ་ལོ། །དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དེ་དག་ལ་དགེ་སློང་ཚུར་ཤོག་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་བཀའ་སྩལ་ཏེ་དགེ་སློང་དག་ཚུར་ཤོག་ཚངས་པར་སྤྱོད་ཅིག་ཅེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་ནས། ཚིག་དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པའི་མོད་ལ་སྐྲ་དང་ཁ་སྤུ་བྲེགས་ནས་ཞག་བདུན་ལོན་པ་ཙམ་དུ་གྱུར། སྤྱོད་ལམ་ནི་བསྙེན་པར་རྫོགས་ནས་ལོ་བརྒྱ་ལོན་པ་ལྟ་བུར་གྱུར། ལག་ན་ནི་ལྷུང་བཟེད་དང་ཆུ་སྣོད་ཐོགས་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །འདིར་སྨྲས་པ། དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་ཚུར་ཞེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པས། །དེ་དག་མགོ་བྲེགས་ལུས་ལ་སྣམ་སྦྱར་གྱོན། །སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ནི་དགོངས་པས་གོས་བགོས་ནས། མོད་ལ་དབང་པོ་རབ་ཏུ་ཞི་བར་གནས། །དེ་ནས་དྲང་སྲོང་ཀཻ་ནེ་ཡས་དེའི་ནུབ་མོ་ཉིད་དུ་བཟའ་བ་དང་བཅའ་བ་གཙང་མ་བཟང་པོ་མང་པོ་སྟ་གོན་བྱས་ནས། ནང་པར་སྔར་ལངས་ནས་གདན་བཤམས་ནས་ཕྱག་ཆབ་ཀྱི་ཆུ་ར་བཀང་སྟེ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་ཕྲིན་གྱིས་གདུགས་ཚོད་བསྐུལ་བ། བཙུན་པ་གདུགས་ཚོད་ལ་བབ་སྟེ། བཤོས་གསོལ་ལགས་ན། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་ད་དེའི་དུས་ལ་བབ་པར་དགོངས་ཏེ་གཤེགས་སུ་གསོལ་ཞེས་བསྐུལ་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་སྔ་དྲོ་ཤམ་ཐབས་དང་ཆོས་གོས་གསོལ་ཏེ་ལྷུང་བཟེད་བསྣམས་ནས་དགེ་སློང་གི་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་ཞབས་འབྲིང་བྱས་ཏེ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་གྱིས་མདུན་དུ་བདར་ནས། དྲང་སྲོང་ཀཻ་ནེ་ཡའི་བཀད་ས་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་གཤེགས་ཏེ་བྱོན་ནས་གདན་བཤམས་པ་ལ་བཞུགས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དྲང་སྲོང་ཀཻ་ནེ་ཡས་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་རྣམས་རང་གི་ལག་ནས་བཟའ་བ་དང་བཅའ་བ་གཙང་མ་བཟང་པོ་མང་པོས་ཚིམ་པར་བྱས་ཏེ་ཅི་བཞེད་པ་བསྟབས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དྲང་སྲོང་ཀཻ་ནེ་ཡས་དྲང་སྲོང་རི་བོ་གཡོག་འཁོར་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་དང་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་སྟེ་གྲལ་དེ་ཉིད་ན་འཁོད་པ་མཐོང་ངོ་། །མཐོང་ནས་ཀྱང་དྲང་སྲོང་རི་བོ་ལ་སྨྲས་པ། དྲང་སྲོང་ཁྱོད་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ངམ། དྲང་སྲོང་རི་བོས་སྨྲས་པ། གྲོགས་པོ་བདག་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ངོ་། །དྲང་སྲོང་ཀཻ་ནེ་ཡས་སྨྲས་པ་ལེགས་སོ། །ཤིན་ཏུ་ལེགས་སོ། །བདག་ཀྱང་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་བཤོས་གསོལ་ཟིན་ནས་རབ་ཏུ་འབྱུང་ངོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་ནས། དྲང་སྲོང་ཀཻ་ནེ་ཡས་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་རྣམས་རང་གི་ལག་ནས་བཟའ་བ་དང་བཅའ་བ་གཙང་མ་བཟང་པོ་མང་པོ་རྣམ་གྲངས་དུ་མས་ཚིམ་པར་བྱས་ཏེ་ཅི་བཞེད་པ་བསྟབས་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་བཤོས་གསོལ་ཟིན་ཏེ། གསང་སྡེར་ནི་གྱུ་ཕྱག་ནི

我亦于世尊处修梵行。其后，世尊以此对彼等说：‘比丘来！’并说：‘比丘们，来吧，修梵行！’如是语毕，须发剃除，犹如七日之久。行仪如受具足戒后百年之久。手中则持钵及水瓶。此处说：如来以‘来’语，彼等头剃除，身着袈裟。以佛之意，衣服着身，顷刻间诸根寂静。其后，仙人迦尼耶于彼夜预备众多清净美好之饮食。次日早起，铺设座位，盛满净手之水。以讯息催促世尊：‘尊者，时至，饮食已备。’世尊知时已至，催促前往。其后，世尊早晨着下裙及法衣，持钵，由比丘众随侍，比丘僧团在前引导，前往仙人迦尼耶之伽伽拉瓦园林，至已，于所设之座就坐。其后，仙人迦尼耶以自己之手，以众多清净美好之饮食，令佛陀等比丘僧团饱足，随其所欲。其后，仙人迦尼耶见仙人日沃及其五百眷属出家，安坐于彼座。见已，对仙人日沃说：仙人，汝出家耶？仙人日沃说：朋友，我已出家。仙人迦尼耶说：善哉！甚善！我亦于供养佛陀等比丘僧团饮食后出家。’语已，仙人迦尼耶以自己之手，以众多清净美好之饮食，以多种方式令佛陀等比丘僧团饱足，随其所欲，世尊饮食已毕。秘密处则为盥洗。

I also wish to practice celibacy in the presence of the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said to them, 'Come, monks!' and said, 'Monks, come, practice celibacy!' As soon as those words were spoken, their hair and beards were shaved, as if it had been seven days. Their conduct was like that of one who had been fully ordained for a hundred years. In their hands, they held alms bowls and water pots. Here it is said: When the Thus-Gone One said 'Come,' their heads were shaved and they wore robes on their bodies. By the Buddha's intention, clothes were put on, and in an instant, their senses were completely pacified. Then, the ascetic Keniya prepared many pure and excellent foods and drinks that very night. The next morning, he got up early, prepared seats, and filled water for washing hands. He urged the Blessed One with a message, 'Venerable one, the time has come, the meal is ready.' The Blessed One, knowing that the time had come, urged them to go. Then, the Blessed One, in the morning, put on his lower garment and Dharma robes, took his alms bowl, and, attended by the assembly of monks, with the monastic community of monks leading the way, went to the garden of the ascetic Keniya, the Gagalava, and sat down on the prepared seat. Then, the ascetic Keniya, with his own hands, satisfied the Buddha and the monastic community of monks with many pure and excellent foods and drinks, according to their desires. Then, the ascetic Keniya saw the ascetic Riva and his five hundred attendants ordained and seated in that very row. Having seen them, he said to the ascetic Riva, 'Ascetic, have you been ordained?' The ascetic Riva said, 'Friend, I have been ordained.' The ascetic Keniya said, 'Excellent! Very good! I will also be ordained after offering food to the Buddha and the monastic community of monks.' Having spoken, the ascetic Keniya, with his own hands, satisfied the Buddha and the monastic community of monks with many pure and excellent foods and drinks, in various ways, according to their desires, and the Blessed One finished his meal. Recognizing that it was covered, he draped his upper garment over one shoulder, and bowing with his palms together towards where the Blessed One was, he said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, if I can go forth and receive full ordination in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, and obtain the status of a monk, then I also wish to practice the pure conduct in the presence of the Blessed One." The Blessed One said: "Sage, have you informed your retinue?" The sage Keniya replied: "Venerable sir, I have not informed them." The Blessed One said: "Sage, then inform your retinue. Informing the retinue is like this: it is only good for those like you who are famous, known by all, and possess great merit." Then, the sage Keniya went to where the Brahmin youths were staying, and said to the Brahmin youths: "Brahmin youths, know this: if I wish to practice the pure conduct in the presence of the Blessed One, what will you do?" They said: "Everything we need depends on the teacher, so if the teacher wishes to go forth in the presence of the ascetic Gautama, then we also wish to go forth following the teacher's going forth." The sage Keniya said: "Brahmin youths, if you know that now is the time, then do so." Then, the sage Keniya, with five hundred attendants, went to where the Blessed One was, bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, I have informed my retinue, venerable sir, if I can go forth and receive full ordination in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, and obtain the status of a monk, then I also wish to practice the pure conduct in the presence of the Blessed One."
