The Hundred Deeds The Hundred Deeds Summary Verse 1 In Sanskrit: Karma Shataka. In Tibetan: The Hundred Deeds. Volume 1. Homage to the All-Knowing One! From whom, the world's teacher, the Sugata, through the gate of hearing, possesses the supremely pleasant and stable speech, Who, wishing only to benefit sentient beings, himself teaches various forms of Dharma, Who thoroughly speaks to those who are confused and bewildered in the thick darkness of wrong views, That which is called "The Hundred Deeds," I will fully explain, listen! General Summary: Female dog and chariot, Ka-tsang-ka and love-unlove, Bird and bee, Gambo, Sons and Indra. (This Sutra's) Summary: Female Dog, Small Eyes, Accomplishing Action, Hunchback Two, Rising Sun, Victory Banner, Happiness-Making Mother and Jewel Light, Nose Flower, I-Giving and Assembly Woman, And the Tailor. That which is called Female Dog: The basis of the story: He was residing in Shravasti. At that time in Shravasti, there was a householder who was rich, wealthy, and had great possessions, holding vast and extensive wealth, possessing the wealth of Vaishravana, competing with the wealth of Vaishravana, and delighting in non-Buddhists. Then, when the opportune time came, he took a wife, and he played and rejoiced with her. After he played and rejoiced, later his wife became pregnant, and after nine or ten months, she gave birth to a boy who was handsome, pleasing to behold, beautiful, of good complexion, golden in color, with a head like an umbrella, long arms, a broad forehead, a high nose, a fine nose, and thick eyebrows. Then, he held a grand birth celebration, named him according to his lineage, and nourished him with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of ghee, and he grew rapidly like a lotus in a lake. Then, when he was able to walk, in order to have him play, his father kept a small female dog in the house. When that small female dog saw other non-Buddhists, she would run and bite them, and even tear their clothes. However, when she saw monks, she would crawl to them, lick their feet with her tongue, and wag her tail.

, and then circumambulate to the right. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, is the teacher of the one and only path, possessing mastery over the two kinds of knowledge and wisdom, skilled in the three unmixed mindfulness establishments, fearless with the four fearlessnesses, liberated from the five realms of existence, skilled in the six sense bases, with the seven branches of enlightenment as the field of activity, meditating on the eight liberations, entering into the nine successive abidings of meditative absorption, possessing the power of the ten strengths, those who roar the great roar of the true lion, according to their nature, three times during the day and three times during the night, that is, six times day and night, with the Buddha's eye, they look upon the world: Who is declining? Who is prospering? Who is impoverished? Who is fearful? Who is associated with harm? Who is associated with poverty, fear, and harm? Who is inclined towards the lower realms? Who is falling into the lower realms? Who has fallen into the lower realms? Who is it that I should rescue from the lower realms and place in the heavenly realms, liberation, and fruition? Who is sinking in the mire of misconduct, whom should I pull up by the hand? Who does not have the seven noble riches, whom should I make possess the dominion of the seven noble riches? Who has not generated roots of virtue, whom should I cause to generate? Who has already generated roots of virtue, whom should I cause to fully mature? Who has fully matured roots of virtue, whom should I pierce with the sword of wisdom? I should make the world adorned by the appearance of the Buddha have fruit, thus the vision of wisdom arises. The ocean is the abode of aquatic creatures, the waves of time may pass, but for the sons to be tamed, the Buddhas do not miss the opportunity. Just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavans, three times during the day and three times during the night, that is, six times day and night, look upon the world with the Buddha's eye, similarly, the great Shravakas also three times during the day and three times during the night, that is, six times day and night, observe the world with the Shravaka's eye. The venerable Shariputra, with the Shravaka's eye, looked upon the world and saw that the time had come to tame the householder and his retinue, and in the early morning, he put on his inner and outer robes,
