བསམས་པ། བདག་གིས་དགེ་སློང་འདི་སྙེད་ལ་ཐུགས་མ་བསེར་ཅིག་ཅེས་བྱས་ནས་གྱིན་ད་འདུག་པས་མི་ནུས་ཀྱི་བདག་སོང་ལ་སྦྱིན་བདག་དང་སྦྱིན་པ་པོ་རྣམས་ལ་བསྐུལ་ཏེ། དགེ་འདུན་གྱི་ཡོ་བྱད་ཐམས་ཅད་སྦྱར་རོ་སྙམ་དུ་བསམས་ནས་སྔ་དྲོ་ཤམ་ཐབས་དང་ཆོས་གོས་བགོས་ཏེ་ལྷུང་བཟེད་ཐོགས་ནས་སྤྱོད་ཡུལ་གྱི་གྲོང་དུ་ཆས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཆེན་པོའི་ནང་ནས་ཚོང་པ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་ཙམ་གྲུའི་དོན་གྲུབ་སྟེ་ལྷགས་ནས་རི་དེ་དང་ཐག་མི་རིང་བ་ཞིག་ཏུ་རྫས་ཕོག་སྟེ་གནས་བཅས་ནས་ཚོང་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་རི་དེའི་སྟེང་ན་དགེ་སློང་ཕལ་པོ་ཆེ་འཁོད་པ་མཐོང་ངོ་། །མཐོང་ནས་ཀྱང་དེ་དག་ལ་མཆོག་ཏུ་དགའ་བར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དགེ་སློང་ཞལ་ཏ་བྱེད་པ་དེ་ཡང་དེ་དག་གི་ཐད་དུ་སོང་སྟེ། དེ་དེ་དག་གིས་མཐོང་ནས་སྨྲས་པ། བཙུན་པ་གར་གཤེགས་སྡེ་སྣོད་གསུམ་པས་སྨྲས་པ། རི་འདིའི་སྟེང་ན་དགེ་སློང་བདུན་ཁྲི་བདུན་སྟོང་འཁོད་པ་རྣམས་བདག་ལ་བརྟེན་ཏེ་དབྱར་གནས་པར་དམ་བཅས་པས་ན། དེ་དག་གི་ཕྱིར་སྦྱིན་བདག་དང་སྦྱིན་པ་པོ་རྣམས་ལ་བསྐུལ་དུ་འགྲོའོ། །ཚོང་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། བཙུན་པ་ཐུགས་མ་བསེར་བར་ཅི་ཡང་བགྱི་མི་འཚལ་གྱིས་བདག་ཅག་གིས་དེ་དག་གི་ཡོ་བྱད་ཐམས་ཅད་སྦྱོར་བར་འཚལ་ལོ་ཞེས་བྱས་ནས། དེ་དག་གིས་དེ་ལ་གསེར་དངུལ་མང་དུ་ཕུལ་ནས་སྨྲས་པ། བཙུན་པ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་དེང་སླན་ཅད་དགེ་སློང་དེ་དག་ལ་ཡོ་བྱད་ཐམས་ཅད་སྦྱོར་ ལ། གལ་ཏེ་གསེར་དངུལ་འདི་དག་གིས་འཚལ་ན་ནི་ལེགས། གལ་ཏེ་མ་འཚལ་ན་ནི་ཡང་གསེར་དངུལ་གཞན་ཡང་ཇི་ཙམ་འཚལ་བ་དེ་ཙམ་བདག་ཅག་དབུལ་ལོ། །དབྱར་གནས་པ་ལགས་པའི་མཇུག་ཏུ་ཡང་ན་བཟའ་དག་དབུལ་བར་འཚལ་ལོ་ཞེས་བྱས་སོ། །དེས་ཞལ་ཏ་བྱེད་པ་དེས་དེ་ལྟར་བགྱིའོ་ཞེས་བྱས་ནས། གསེར་དངུལ་རྣམས་ཁྱེར་ཏེ་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་དུ་སོང་ནས། དེས་གསེར་དངུལ་རྣམས་བལྟས་པ་དང་ཆགས་པ་སྐྱེས་ནས་དེས་གསེར་དངུལ་རྣམས་བསྐུངས་ཏེ། དགེ་སློང་རྣམས་ལ་ནི་ཟས་དང་སྐོམ་ངན་པ་སྟོབས་པར་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་ཕྱིས་དགེ་སློང་དེ་དག་གིས་ཞལ་ཏ་བྱེད་པ་དེ་ལ་བཤད་དེ། བཙུན་པ་བདག་ཅག་ཟས་དང་སྐོམ་ངན་པ་འདི་ལྟ་བུས་འཚོ་མི་ནུས་སོ། །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་གི་མཐུ་ནི་དེ་ཁོ་ནར་ཟད་དེ། དེ་ལས་མི་ནུས་ཀྱིས་གལ་ཏེ་ཁྱེད་དེས་འཚོ་མི་ནུས་ན་ཁྱེད་བདག་ཅག་གིས་སྦྱིན་བདག་དག་ལ་བསྐུལ་ལ་འཚོ་བར་གྱིས་ཤིག་ཅེས་བྱས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དེ་ཐོས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་དགེ་སློང་དེ་དག་གིས་ཚོང་པ་དེ་དག་ལ་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་དགེ་སློང་བདུན་ཁྲི་བདུན་སྟོང་གི་ཟས

心想：我若对这么多比丘不慈悲，这样下去是不行的，我应该去劝请施主和布施者们，供养僧团的一切所需。这样想着，清晨穿好裙子和法衣，拿着钵，就前往了聚落。当时，大约五百名商人从大海中乘船顺利抵达，在离那座山不远的地方卸货安顿下来，商人们看到那座山上坐着许多比丘，看到后，他们非常高兴。负责比丘事务的人也去了他们那里。他们看到后说：尊者您要去哪里？持三藏者说：这座山上住着七万七千名比丘，他们依靠我安居，为了他们，我要去劝请施主和布施者们。商人们说：尊者您不要操心，什么都不用做，我们来供养他们的一切所需。他们向他供养了许多金银，并说：尊者您从今以后要为那些比丘供养一切所需，如果这些金银足够，那就最好。如果不够，我们还会供养更多您需要的金银。安居结束后，我们还会供养衣物。负责事务的人说：我会那样做的。然后拿着金银去了寺庙。他看到金银后，生起了贪心，就把金银藏了起来，只给比丘们提供劣质的食物和饮料。后来，那些比丘对负责事务的人说：尊者，我们无法靠这种劣质的食物和饮料生存。他说：我的能力仅限于此，再多也做不到了，如果你们无法靠此生存，那你们就去劝请施主们自己解决吧。听到这话后，那些比丘立刻去找那些商人，说：你们为七万七千名比丘准备的食物……

Thinking this way, he put on his skirt and Dharma robes in the early morning, took his bowl, and went to the village. At that time, about five hundred merchants arrived safely by boat from the great ocean, unloaded their goods not far from that mountain, and settled down. The merchants saw many monks sitting on that mountain, and after seeing them, they were very happy. The person in charge of the monks' affairs also went to them. After they saw him, they said: Venerable, where are you going? The one who holds the three baskets said: There are seventy-seven thousand monks living on this mountain, and they rely on me for their summer retreat. For them, I am going to urge the patrons and donors. The merchants said: Venerable, do not worry, you do not need to do anything, we will provide all their needs. They offered him a lot of gold and silver, and said: Venerable, from now on, you should provide all the needs for those monks. If this gold and silver is enough, that would be best. If it is not enough, we will offer more gold and silver as much as you need. After the summer retreat, we will also offer clothes. The person in charge of the affairs said: I will do that. Then he took the gold and silver and went to the temple. After he saw the gold and silver, greed arose, and he hid the gold and silver, only providing the monks with poor food and drink. Later, those monks said to the person in charge of the affairs: Venerable, we cannot survive on this poor food and drink. He said: My ability is limited to this, I cannot do more. If you cannot survive on this, then you should go and urge the patrons to solve it yourselves. After hearing this, those monks immediately went to those merchants and said: The food that you prepared for the seventy-seven thousand monks...
