Saying that she could not be released like a seed. Then, he kept his mother locked in that room, cutting off her food, for seven days. After that, his family summoned other relatives, and the relatives came and released her. She barely emerged from that room, and when she asked her son for water, that child gave her ash water. He thought, by this method, she will die. Later, because she was physically weak, she drank the ash water and died on the spot. Monks, what do you think? The child at that time was this hunchback. Because he starved his mother and killed her with ash water, the maturation of that karma caused him to be cooked in the hells of sentient beings for thousands of years. After being liberated from there, wherever he was born, he would starve and die from drinking ash water. Now, he has become the last existence, the last body, and the last place. Even after attaining the state of an Arhat, he completely passed into Nirvana because he was starving and drinking ash water, and solely because of that reason. This person also committed other karmas. Due to the maturation of that karma, he suffered great pain from hunger. Monks, in the past, in the bygone era, in this very fortunate eon, when the lifespan of beings could reach twenty thousand years, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, Tamer of Beings, Supreme, Teacher of Gods and Humans, the Blessed One Buddha named Light Protector (Tibetan: འོད་སྲུང་།), appeared in the world. At that time, in Varanasi (an ancient Indian city), there lived a householder, and later, his wife became pregnant. After nine or ten months, she gave birth to twins. They held a grand birth celebration for these two children and named them according to the family tradition. They nourished them with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, and the essence of ghee. When these two children grew up, they developed faith in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector, and they requested their parents to renounce the world. After renouncing the world, they studied the three baskets and became confident Dharma speakers with wisdom and liberation. Wherever they lived, they lived together. One of these two

Whoever has obtained clothing, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and medical supplies. He thought, "I can obtain all necessities with little effort, but those who practice brahmacharya are impoverished due to lack of necessities. I should properly undertake the support of the Sangha without fail." After thinking this, he began to properly undertake the support of the Sangha, providing clothing, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, medical supplies, and all necessities. Then, his brother and friend thought, "My brother is my friend, and he is connected to me in terms of virtue. But he wants to do the work of supporting the Sangha, which will hinder my virtue." After thinking this, he said to him, "Brother, give up virtue and do not desire to do the work of supporting the Sangha." Then, he said to his brother and friend, "I can obtain all necessities with little effort, and those who practice brahmacharya are impoverished due to lack of necessities. Why would I not want to do these things for them?" Although he said this, his brother and friend did not stop him, and it was of no use. He thought, "As long as he is here, I cannot stop him. Instead, I should use a trick to take him to another place and stop him." After thinking this, his brother and friend used a trick to take him to another place and settle him there. Then, he lived there and became an obstacle to the monks obtaining necessities. Although he lived there, he heard how the monks were impoverished due to lack of necessities. Immediately after hearing this, he pleaded with his brother and friend, "I will go there and make sure the monks do not lack necessities." Then, his brother and friend said, "Brother, those monks always live like hungry ghosts, relying only on others. You abandon virtue and go there again?" The brother and friend said, "You speak harsh words, commit faults, and must confess! May you obtain the unpleasant result of this action." After saying this, he also felt great regret. He practiced brahmacharya for one lifetime, and at the time of death, he made the aspiration: As I practiced brahmacharya
