Then, the Bhagavan blessed them with miraculous power, so that each of them would think, "Now I am holding the umbrella of the Bhagavan." Then, the Bhagavan, with such beauty and splendor, proceeded to the city gate. There, the Bhagavan deliberately placed his foot on the threshold of the gate. At the very moment when the Bhagavan placed his foot on the threshold of the gate, the earth shook in six ways: it moved, it moved intensely, it moved completely intensely, it quaked, it quaked intensely, it quaked completely intensely. In the king's palace, which is filled with lights, hundreds of thousands of creatures offer flowers, incense, and spices. The wise one, wisdom, and that girl also took lotuses and went to where the perfectly enlightened Buddha Dipamkara was. Then, the Blessed One thought: Because of these ordinary people, the merit of the Brahmin boy Sumati will increase even more. Thinking this, he conjured up a great and violent rainstorm. Then, those ordinary people made way, and the Brahmin boy Sumati seized the opportunity, saw the Blessed One, and was overjoyed. Having generated joy, he offered those five utpala flowers to the Blessed One. Then, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Dipamkara transformed those flowers into the size of chariot wheels, suspended in the air, and blessed them, saying: When the Blessed One walks, they will follow; when the Blessed One stays, they will stay. Then, that girl saw this situation, generated joy, and offered two more utpala flowers to the Blessed One, and blessed those two flowers to also become the size of chariot wheels, suspended above the ears of the Blessed One. Then, the perfectly complete Buddha Dipamkara placed his two feet on the hair of the Brahmin youth Good Intelligence. Then, the one who was following behind the Brahmin youth Good Intelligence became angry and said: Look, this perfectly complete Buddha Dipamkara is trampling the hair of the Brahmin youth Good Intelligence as if it were livestock. Then, after that, the perfectly complete Buddha Dipamkara prophesied to the Brahmin youth Good Intelligence: You will be here for the benefit of all beings in the world, a teacher, a lord, liberated from the three realms, named Shakyamuni, son of the Shakyas, will become the essence of the three realms, a lamp for beings. After saying this, as soon as the perfectly complete Buddha Dipamkara had finished prophesying to the Brahmin youth Good Intelligence, in that very instant, he rose into the sky to the height of seven palm trees. Then, his hair fell out, and extraordinary hair grew. Then, the masses saw him in the sky. Having seen him, they also made the aspiration: When he attains unsurpassed wisdom, may we all become his Shravaka disciples. That girl also made the aspiration: Wherever you make the aspiration, in that place where the guide attains Buddhahood, may I always practice the Dharma in harmony and become your consort. When you become a perfectly complete Buddha, the lord of the world, a guide, at that time may I also become your Shravaka disciple. Having seen the Brahmin youth dwelling in the sky, hundreds and thousands of people all made the aspiration to become his Shravaka disciples in the future. When you become a perfectly complete Buddha, the lord of the world, a guide.
