Possessing a mind as vast as the sky and as equal as the palm of the hand, cooled like sandalwood. Destroyed the shell of ignorance with wisdom. Attained wisdom, clairvoyance, and individual perfect knowledge. Turned their backs on worldly gains, attachments, and honors. Became objects of worship, reverence, and respectful praise by the gods and their retinues. After attaining the state of Arhat, they thought: Are there any others we can tame? They saw that those relatives could be tamed. Having seen this, they went to those relatives, taught the Dharma, and established them in perfect faith. They had them take refuge and observe the precepts, and taught them to correctly practice giving and distributing alms. Among them, one cowherd girl did not believe. Because she could not go to see the Blessed One, the cowherds forcibly seized her and led her to the presence of the Blessed One. From afar, the cowherd girl saw the Blessed Buddha, the body of the Blessed One adorned and radiant with the thirty-two marks of a great being, like a body of fire, like a flame fueled by oil, like a butter lamp placed in a golden vessel, like a stupa adorned with various precious jewels. She saw the Blessed Buddha, whose wisdom was bright, immaculate, and pure. Having seen this, she felt great joy. The joy experienced by a sentient being who, through the cause of accumulating virtuous roots, sees the Buddha for the first time, is such that even one who has cultivated tranquility meditation for twelve years will not experience such joy. Having seen this, she felt joy, looked at each other, and thought: We should make offerings to the Blessed One, where shall I get flowers? She saw some Koshata flowers not far away, and picked those flowers. Going to the presence of the Blessed One, she offered the Koshata flowers to the Blessed One. She bowed her head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One

Thinking that this girl's life is short and she will die before long, the Blessed One taught her the Dharma accordingly. Then, she also realized that the Blessed One's teachings had come to an end, and she departed from the Blessed One. Not long after she left, the four elements became imbalanced, and she died with joy in her heart towards the Blessed One, passing away and being reborn in the heavenly realm. As soon as a heavenly son or daughter is born, three thoughts arise naturally according to Dharma: from where did I die, where was I born, and by what karma was I born. Then, she offered Koshata flowers to the Blessed One, and seeing that she was delighted by this, she thought: "It is not my way to go to see and serve the Blessed One after the fasting day. I will go to see and serve the Blessed One before the fasting day." Then, adorned with swaying earrings and bracelets, her body decorated with necklaces and belts, wearing a crown adorned with various precious jewels, her body anointed with saffron, tamala leaves, and dga-ka-la and other fragrances, with a noble appearance, that very night she filled a container with heavenly utpala flowers, lotuses, water lilies, white lotuses, and mandara flowers. She went to where the Blessed One was, and upon arriving, she scattered heavenly utpala flowers, lotuses, water lilies, white lotuses, and mandara flowers upon the Blessed One, and bowed her head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat before the Blessed One to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One understood her thoughts, habits, faculties, nature, and wisdom, and taught her the Dharma accordingly. Therefore, that goddess, while sitting on that very seat, destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and realized the fruit of stream-entry. Having seen the truth, she rose from her seat, bowed her head at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and then disappeared right there. Then, the monks diligently practiced without sleeping at night and at dawn.
